The music of Sooraj Barjatya's next Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' has reportedly been sold for Rs. 17 crore.
The film, which stars Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor, is this year's big Diwali release. A source told Hindustan Times the rights of the music are hot property in the market. It said, "As Salman and Sooraj are coming together after many years, a lot is riding on this film. While it's common for the music rights of a star's movie to be sold for a high price, Rs 17 crore is a huge sum even by industry standards."
"Whenever Salman and Sooraj have collaborated in the past, the soundtracks of their films have been hits. Be it Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) or Hum Saath Saath Hain, the albums have done really well. So, the makers were very particular about the music of their new film," added the source.
The film's music has been scored by Himesh Reshammiya. The album features nine romantic numbers.
