Making sense of the show

Hi All,
I'm probably going to ruffle some feathers with this thread but these are my thoughts and I intend no disrespect to anyone.

I've watched DAK since it started when it replaced my beloved Punar Vivah Season 2 and the love saga of Vikrant Suryavanshi and Sarita was unceremoniously replaced by Urmi's tormented life story.
To be absolutely fair - I didn't really 'like' DAK - though I respected what the supposed intent was - I had serious issues with how it all played out - right from Urmi taking all of Samrat's ill treatment lying down, not being able to raise a voice or stand up for herself till Tauji sparked some fire in her, giving in to her family's wishes and being sent back to the beast of a husband just because she was pregnant - the misogynistic views, ill treatment, over simplified solutions (Urmi trying to fight her own divorce case not knowing anything and then top notch lawyer aka Ishaan coming to her rescue) - every track of DAK pre leap (pre Urmi getting replaced and Samrat/Ishaan dying) would have me cringe - I didn't like how the CVs went about the tracks - was it really nessacery to show Samrat beating Urmi with a belt and then top it off she bails him out of jail?!

I digress - my point is DAK was about Urmi and Urmi's journey - the story had SO much potential but I really don't see the point of showing Urmi and her grown kids. I know there are a lot fans for Shaurya and Diya - or the actors that play them - i haven't seen any of their previous work but I really don't care for their story. DAK should have ended when Neha left the show - none of the original cast members are present - we might as well be watching a different show.

If they really wanted to garner TRPs - here's a helpful hint to the CVs - stop repackaging old stale wine in new shiny bottles - Urmi's current laws are just better dressed versions of her first set of in laws. Damini never liked Urmi - this part I could digest post leap also but her constant competition with Urmi, constant hatred etc - why does Urmi put up with this? Her kids are grown, she earns, her brother lives in the same city - why not move out??!

Sorry guys but this is my soap box - I get so irked when CVs take a potentially good story/concept and kill it with ridiculous plot twists, unrealistic villans who miraculously turns a new leaf in 30 secs before the show ends for good.

Zee changed their tagline from "umeed se sajaye zindagi" to "haar lamha ek nayi umeed"
- where is the umeed?? Every show will show a glimmer of hope and fool us into thinking something "new" is being created only to pull the rug out and dish out the same plot twists.

Frankly I'm glad the show is ending if that's true - the original cast is gone, the show isn't really offering anything new in terms of content.

I didn't watch the show pre-leap but seems there should never have been a leap. The show had great potential but ultimately it was killed. Yesterday's episode was so bad that I'm glad it will be over soon. The actors Neha Sargam and Kunal Karan Kapoor are really talented seems they were just wasted on DAK.

Respect your views. I had heard about DAK pre leap but could never make myself watch such disguisting stuffs shown about women or done to women however true they may be. We all know what happens in real life Wife abuse and such stuffs are not new. So there is no need to watch it on TV set plainly without anything interesting happening. I so so hate leading ladies shown hapless and spineless.
DAK post leap came as a breadth of fresh air since it had a Bold Diya, a confident and understanding Shaurya along with Urmi. But after few good intial episodes they lost the track, i guess due to channel deciding to closing down.

I can never watch anything for the heck of watching it. We all have enough sorrows in our own life, what is the point of watching something that can add to your sorrows coz unknowingly u get too attached to the characters.

The way DAK post leap went, i am happy its ending...

Just my view. NO disrespect to pre leap viewers or any fans.
