Viplav has been told many times to stay away from widows and especially Dhaani. Whether it is his grand father, Dhaani herself and the ashram people as well. When he saw Dhaani lying unconscious and nobody there to help them, he was getting nervous as he dint know if he should leave her there (as he has been told to stay away from widows) or take her to the hospital or to stay there and take care of her. He tried to call his friend but his phone dint work as well.

I also feel he got engaged just because he couldn't do anything about it. It was his sister's engagement that he dint want to ruin and his grandfather's wish as well.

I so agree with you that today poor Viplav was trapped by everyone. Felt sorry for him as he stood on the stage exchanging rings with Tanya. Today for the 1st time i did not like Tanya at all, she has manupilated her friendship with Viplav. I am very sure that she also did not want Viplav to know abt the engagement till the end as he would have backed off other wise.

The situation with Dhani , poor guy agai caught off guard and just did not know what to do.

Agree with you @Erikalui and @Sasha . Viplav was responsible. He didn't ruin his sister's engagement ..nor disappoints his grandfather. And Tania is getting on my nerves now. She diserves to be kicked out later.
