Old habits are hard to die. How naive we are when we recite... Sticks and Stone can break my bones, but words will never harm me.

Bruises from sticks and stones fade with time, but scars left behind stay awhile, don't they?

So, I will leave you here as things get rocky for our protagonists as they navigate through the slew of words they hurl.

Thank you for staying with this story - through all the slowest updates, travels and postponements. I value and appreciate your support, gentle encouragement, kind words, song references, articles you share... It means to much to me.

This week has been particularly hard for me and my family. A very dear friend of ours died last saturday due to massive cardiac arrest. He had no known symptoms or history of heart disease. Everything happened in less than ten minutes. Our daughters grow up together ... It is very strange to see fiction play out in real life... I have been in this twilight zone - figuring out the truths of my own mortality and feeling abject misery at what life has dealt with this loving family. His funeral is Sunday here on this side of our longitude. Will you keep them in your prayers?
