Sanskar's 'motive'

I sometimes feel that Sanskaar has an ulterior motive. Not necessarily an evil one, but a dark one. I love his character and his recent actions, but I sometimes wonder what shade of gray he really his. It's not black but definitely not white either. I love the mystery around his character, though, and it contrasts beautifully with Swara's 'open book' character.

After Swara 'convinced' him that DP and Laksh are innocent, I was suprised that he didn't continue to investigate and find the culprit. Yes, it's possible that he's the real mastermind but it could also be that he suspects it's someone in the family and needs to return to the family with everyone's sympathy. DP's words today convinced me that he forgave Sanskaar and totally trusts him. Perhaps he's not after revenge in the original form but still wants to punish the family in a different way for exiling him in the past.

In yesterday's episode I did see the dark side of him again when he was giving Ragini a piece of his mind. He is protective about Swara, for sure, revenge or not. Being with Swara calms him and forces him to fight for the truth in a more 'honest' way, because she would have it no other way. That doesn't mean though that his agressive and ruthless streak is gone forever. It's hiding in there somewhere temporarily and will come out when triggered, such as when Ragini maligns his wife's character.

I think he has a martyr complex of sorts too. He couldn't save Kavita but now he feels it's his duty to save Swara, whatever the consequences. He couldn't put his finger on it, but subconsciously he's in love with Swara. Or is he? Is his past trauma influencing his thoughts and feelings and making him feel that she is the balm to his wounds? Is protecting her and giving her the respect she deserves Sanskar's way of forgiving himself for failing Kavita years ago? I also feel the fact that Swara is Bengali urges him to be extra involved in her life because of the rejection and injustice Kavita suffered. 😆

He said as much in today's episode that he married Swara to save her life, not for love or other things. I think he has always been drawn to her but the day he started to regret his actions after seeing her pain is when his heart started to get involved. He connected with her because of his pain and that will never change.

He knows that under normal circumstances a love story between him and Swara would be impossible and unthinkable. After Ragini is exposed he would have no valid reason for continuing to be her husband (fake or otherwise), but this action of being a savior and marrying her (for the right reasons) will pay off in the end. She will never disrespect him or the marriage and she will never leave him, or so he thinks. He will also have a valid reason to keep her in his life for good..

Sanskaar seems to be a one-woman man but I think he has serious abandonment issues - losing the support of his family and being kicked out the house, living alone, and then losing Kavita ... that trauma still haunts him. Here's a girl, Swara, who's been abandoned by her father time and again, never accepted by her grandfather, and abandoned by her fiance. So he feels the need to step in and rescue her, give her what he missed in his life: support and attachment. It's not just about love or romance.

On a lighter note, sometimes I wonder if his ultimate goal has been to marry a Bengali woman to stick it to his family who ostracized him for wanting to do the same in the past. Because of recent events they had no choice but to accept his 'marriage' and accept Swara with all her Bengaliness. Not only that, they give her the full rights and respect of a daughter-in-law, epsecially DP - this would have been unthinkable in the past. So he made DP do the very thing he was always against. 😆

Sanskaar and Shomi are, in my opinion, the best written characters in the show, but I must confess today I was hoping that after Adarsh's little taunt at Lakshya, that the CVs will flesh his character out and take it to a new dimension altogether. One can dream, hey?

Sanskar is not at all grey..
He really respects swara, and unknowingly loves her.
I have no doubts in his these actions.
If he wish to dig out Kavita's killer, what is the wrong in that?
If such a criminal exist in MM, he/she must be figured out, as they will be a threat to swara also.
I dont think it is DP, but someone else.
May be somebody dont like a bengali girl to be their bride, or some one who dont wish sanskar to get a family, may be for the ulterier motives of getting his share in the property..
I have doubts in everyone of MM.
If Sanskar wish to clear his doubts, i wish swara to assist him in that.
To know the truth is his right.
And if there is such a person, then he surely a villain of the show.
For that you cant stand Sanskar in the shade of grey.
He is a victim of somebody's cruelty.
So he should find it.
But towards swara, he don't have a double face, he loves her, that is sure..

exactly...
weirdly..sanskaar got everything he wanted to do i the beginning.
separate laksh and swara...done
ragini got laksh ...done
bengali bahu laana...done
DP ko bengali girl ko bahu manana...done.
only thing is he was not wanting to marry swara...but anyway thats a bonus.
although its probably only guilt...and not ulterior motives anymore...and as the story progresses we may find out the real villain of the show, not ragini...who has probably killed kavita.

if you want...sounds like you and me have the same sort of judgement of sanskaar's character.
