Hello guys and welcome to my analysis and discussion thread - the topic is Dhruv, Thapki and trust.

Before starting, I want to set some rules: Please, no bashing of anyone, characters or actors. Keep this objective. Do not bring in any couple-fights or comparisons, as this really isn't mainly about pairings. Everyone is invited to join in, regardless of couple-preferences - just don't attack each other on a personal level, and try not to offend any fan base.

Now, coming back to the original topic:
All of us have already noticed how Thapki is treating Dhruv with a cold shoulder. She is accusing him of breaking her trust and hence, holds him responsible for what has happened to her. On the other hand, Dhruv himself isn't doing anything to clear his name of any such allegations, rather the opposite, actually: When telling Thapki the truth about the marriage, he started with confirming that she trusts him a lot and then, breaks down the bitter truth with "I broke your trust".
But why is that so?
Has Dhruv forgotten that he had been hit unconscious and therefore, was unable to reach the mandap? That he even tried reaching, but again lost his consciousness on the way and only woke up after the deed had been done? Does Thapki not know that Dhruv loves her unconditionally and hence, there must have been a very good reason for him not being at the mandap? Doesn't she see the pain he is in due to this whole situation?
I think the answers to all the above questions is a Yes, they remember, see and know. Especially Thapki - I am pretty sure that she is very well aware of the fact that something drastic must have happened that stopped Dhruv from reaching his mandap. So, why all this "You broke my trust" accusations and the cold treatment? Why does Dhruv himself accept and regret breaking Thapki's trust?
Trust is the base essence of their relationship. Don't take me wrong, trust is a very important factor in any relationship. But what I noticed with these two is that trust holds a very special place for them - for Thapki. I guess this is due to her difficult past. She has always had people mock her because of her stammering, and hurting her again and again, be it Diwakar or Nimmi aunty - people broke whatever trust she might have put in them. Hence, she values trust above everything else, and has only been able to give her unconditional trust to her family, as of yet, and to Dhruv, to some extent.
In my view, Thapki has drawn a fairytale image of her relationship with Dhruv. Dhruv has never had a problem with her stammering, has always been supportive, protected her from everyone, made the first step into their relationship, proposed to her whole family, made eternal promises and strengthened the picture she had of their future. With Dhruv, Thapki has gotten used to Dhruv making everything alright - with Dhruv taking everything in his own hands and handling it, and it has never gone wrong, till a certain point in time.
With the marriage fiasco, Thapki doesn't care for the reasons Dhruv was absent - it doesn't matter to her. What matters is that Dhruv made beautiful promises to her but couldn't hold on to them. What matters is that Dhruv can't handle everything, that he can't protect her from all the troubles life has in store for her; that he can't make everything alright. What matters is that her perfect image of a relationship in which her trust and Dhruv's love would be enough to fight the world shattered into many tiny pieces - and she is not willing to pick up those pieces and put them back together because she knows, no matter what, the picture will never be the same again.
There's this beautifully sad quote, "Trust is like a vase- once it's broken, though you can fix it the vase will never be the same again."
So, I believe that Thapki is angry because Dhruv made promises which he couldn't fulfill. She would have never been this angry with him had he never assured her that he wouldn't ever let her hand go and promised her that he would never let anything wrong happen to her. Now, those sweet words sound empty and meaningless to her. Her trust has been broken in the sense that Dhruv made promises and since those were broken, it feels like he lied to her. And Thapki despises lies.
She found out that her trust in Dhruv and his love for her were not enough - that, sometimes, life throws things at us which surpass and test trust and love, and shake us to the very core of our souls. It happened to her. And she is struggling to handle all this but it's proving to be hard because there are so many things being thrown at her- Dhruv's promises being broken, her dreams shattering, her being married to someone she dislikes greatly and now, living together with this someone for three months. In all this, she does see Dhruv's pain - but it doesn't change her own situation, hence she doesn't melt for him.
And Dhruv knows Thapki very well. He blames himself for promising her so much and being unable to uphold those things; to him, it also doesn't matter exactly what the reasons were- he sees the result, mainly. That's why, I guess, he didn't mention the being hit part because it won't change Thapki's situation, at all.
For Thapki, trust is greater than love. Therefore, it doesn't matter how much Dhruv still loves her - she can't trust him, anymore, and hence, won't give them another chance.
That are my thoughts and the current development of their relationship. Care to share yours?
