Silly me, all these days I kept on thinking PC, Kareena, Kangana, Anu would pull the Gone Girl role off. But I revisited the character profile, took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I peaked into my heart and I could only see two options.

Amy Dunne is a nice, cool, "It" girl who is an ideal wife, ideal daughter and a sweet innocent girl, bogged down by her celebrity status. She is, in its purest definition, a morally white character. The only problem is, this is not the real Amy. The real Amy is hidden somewhere beneath a layer of personalities and pretenses. The Amy described earlier, is the face she maintains with the common public. To understand Amy, we need to peel off her layers and expose her character for what she really is.

Real Amy is the insecure, unsocial, conniving mastermind whose constant goal is to remain in the limelight. She is extremely vengeful and has almost zero morals, which makes her a morally black character. There is no doubt that Real Amy is smart and patient. She planned her disappearance meticulously for an entire year. Amy is almost a sociopath. However, coupled with her intelligence, it makes her extremely dangerous. She is able to lie, blackmail, manipulate, control and murder without shame or remorse. In her goal to achieve what she wants, being "Amazing Amy", she even gets herself pregnant just to keep Nick on a leash. Amy is a woman, trained throughout her life to appeal to people as "Amazing Amy" and as the movie concludes, that is exactly what we see her become.

#MyChoice: Deepika. She has the acting chops and beauty to get into the skin of character of Amy Dunne. This will finally get her the elusive National Award.

Ash has the pristine beauty, but I think she will fail to convince as a sociopathic character. 😕

Please pick your choice between the two and support with your thoughts.

Back in 90s , I would have said Urmila, she has the innocence and acting chops to pull of a psychopathic character.

But in today's time, Deepika might be a good choice..she def has the innocence and the beauty but never seen her act a psychotic character so don't know how she would do! But yes, she would be a good choice compare to all the others.

Deepika will bring the SHOCK factor out. Audience will be shocked to see how convincingly she plays Amy.

Yes... 10 years ago, URMILA MATONDKAR. No second option.

Hmmm, for the real Amy portions I would go with Priyanka. She can convey cold, calculating and sociopathic very well. I'm not sure if she will be convincing for the fake Amy part. PC has too strong of a personality that comes through the screen. Can she really convince the audience that she's a sweet innocent and possibly an emotionally and physically abusive housewife? Then again, since the story is already so popular she might not need to be that convincing 😕. I watched the movie after reading the book.

From your choices I would go with Aishwarya. I think something about that stunningly beautiful face being a sociopath will add that extra shock value for the audience.

Out of these two? None. From Bollywood I can only see PC in this role, at most Kareena. But no one else from the current working lot. Kangana needs to work on her voice modulation to fit the bill of Amy Dunne and it's very hard to imagine Anu even though she is talented. Maybe Urmila can make a comeback with such a role though. She would wear the character like a second skin👍🏼

So does Amy have BPD or split personality? Is this full of heavy symbolism like Black Swan pointing to traumatic abuse experiences?

So no one's curious? What is that, a bucket of ketchup? Seems like horrible imagery for a children's book and the parents are psychologists. 🤢
