This is also a very important step towards voice culture. If we can master our breath, we can easily master our voice for singing. Breath Control gives fine-ness, clarity, steadiness and confident phonation to the voice. There are 4 types of breathing: Clavicular (shoulder), Costal (chest), Diaphragmatic and Abdominal. Clavicular breathing is useful to sing very shrill notes. Costal breathing is used to high-pitched notes. Diaphragmatic breathing is useful for every singer. When a singer cultivates this type of breathing, unnecessary and unwanted wobbling or shaking of voice can be controlled. Abdominal breathing helps to sing the lower notes effectively.
music fans are more than welcome to read the full article. I have quoted since it is informative as well as lucid. I could not have explained it better myself.

Since I am hearing a whole lot of criticism about Amanat's breathing, I would like to share my views and thoughts on "breathing". I would really love to hear from music lovers who care to have further knowledge of OCTAVES and their link with breathing.
Amanat is the only one of these three who does real wonders in LOWER octaves. These are the ones that require Abdominal breathing. We conveniently forget that even he is only 19 year old and training.
The others have fantastic rendition of songs, but I do notice how they prefer / master higher octaves :) Yes, I don't wish to undermine their RANGE, but would love to even see them dabbling in lower octaves where amanat is so effortless. (he shows no breathing difficulty in higher octaves just like other contestants)
However, I am saddened by how people comment how Aneek and Raja have better breathing control.. I would like music trainers / students to enlighten me on this. During my training, I always found it harder to learn ABDOMINAL breathing, the essential component of Bass / lower octave, while breathing for higher octaves was easier :)
I vote for Amanat and find him above the rest, (though he disappointed me today ðŸ˜) but this post has nothing to do with him being my favorite.
I am saddened by how losely some viewers comment on Amanat's breathing. A 10 year kid attempts grade 8 exam and gets A minus while the other gets an A in grade 6 exam. How can one call the second kid smarter? One needs to understand that the first kid also got an A in grade 6 exam .. It is just that he attempted a higher class where he could use more training, but so what?? .. 😊 Does it means he is not good enough?
