I'm quite sure the elders in the Maheshwari family had good intentions when naming their sons but looking at how each of them turned out, I'm beginning to wonder what went wrong!
- Aadarsh - an ideal, someone who does the right thing.
This is what we'd expect of the eldest son, but the latest track hints otherwise. I am sure Annapurna and Durga Prasad tried to teach him good things but having such an authoritarian father and a subdued mother can't have taught him to give women proper respect. He probably couldn't even speak up and express his wishes when Parineeta was chosen for him. I wonder if his girlfriend is also a Bangaalan, wouldn't that be ironic?!
- Sanskaar - good values, morals, ethics.
Yes, he's had a change of heart now but in his revenge mode he was furthest from this point. They don't show much about his father, but I'm pretty sure his mom can't have been such a good influence, seeing as she was goading him to allow Swara to die! The flashbacks we see of him and Kavita portray him in such a soft, fun-loving, and youthful light. Her death probably stripped him of his innocence and rosy view of life.
- Lakshya - goal, aim, target.
Of the 3 sons he is the only one who is aimless and directionless. At first he was busy being a cool dude but now he's being thrown back and forth by different family members, with the occasional browsing on the laptop. I think he has always been easily influenced and having no aim just makes him vulnerable to other people's scheming.
As for Uttara, well, time will tell if she's got skeletons in the closet.
