ManYa Drabble: Engraved In Your Heart
"Hi Amaya!" Mantu said as he hugged Amaya tightly and kissed her cheek. How lovely was it to be able to caress and admire your love. Mantu had gotten that chance for a lifetime now! After all Amaya was all set to become Amaya Shrivastav.
"Control your excitement Mantu! The wedding has 2 weeks to go. We've just gotten engaged."
"So what! I have full rights to do so Amaya. The ring of my name has been fitted in your heart and yours has fitted in mine. Nothing in the world can stop me now! The biggest happiness I ever recieved was having you in my life" He said caressing her face.
"Mantu, I'm getting so excited! After Rachi Di's wedding, every moment seems so magical." He said with her eyes glittering.
"I love you Amaya" He said taking her in a comforting embrace.
"I love you two, three, four Mantu" She said with her head dug in his chest with his head on hers.
A perfect couple is what they defined.
It was the night before their sangeet. Mantu like every night messaged Amaya. They had the same loving conversation where they expressed their happiness and love for each other. A life they always wished for.
"A surprise awaits our Sangeet Mr.Shrivastav" Amaya sent ending the conversation.
"There's no better surprise than seeing you everyday! Good Night Sweetheart" He replied with a calm smile on his face.
There came the day of the sangeet. The Shehnai played, the dhol went on its beats. It was a grand Sangeet. Amaya got ready wearing a floral white lehenga with simple diamond jewellery. She looked like the moon which lit up the sky. The groom's side entered with Mantu looking as charming to sweep that moon off her feet. Wearing that white sherwani, he surely looked like a perfect groom to the bride.
The dances got over one by one. The final perfomance was of the bride and groom. They swayed slowly to the beats of Hasi. As he turned Amaya, she knew it was time to reveal the surprise. He turned her and her dupatta came off. As he came close to put it back, he saw something. Something engraved. There lied next to Amaya's shoulders and chest, an area where the name Mantu was engraved in black. He passed his hand through it and smiled shedding a lone tear seeing that tattoo . Seeing the situation, rising Amaya continued dancing with him. The dance ended, leading to many applauses and amidst those, Mantu dragged Amaya into a room.
"Amaya, what is all this? Why did you do this tattoo? It must've hurt so much. Darling, you know you don't need to do all this for me. As long as we love each other, we don't require this. Why did you bear the pain" He said holding Amaya's hands.
"Shh..You speak a lot Mantu. i'm not proving my love, just showing it. Declaring to the world that I am yours. That no one can take my heart. It's forever reserved for you. you have enlocked and registered this only room in my heart. This pain is nothing. For once you said, you could do anything for me, didn't you expect anything in return" She said wiping his tears and forming a smile.
He locked her in his arms and caressed her hair. He never knew his love would brig him so much faith and such care. He could proudly say her heart had his name engraved on it.
10 Years Later:
"Baby, come fast. Mummy needs to take you to school na. Eat your breakfast fast. The first day in primary should be the best for my little jaan na." Amaya said to her princess.
"Mumma, first tell me.What is the secret behind this tattoo? You told me I wasn't big enough for it. Now I'm in Primary. I'm 9 years old. Tell me please." Piya said.
"Baby, you're getting late. Bye! Chiklu Chacha will drop you. He'll take you in his new car. No ifs and buts" She kissed her on the cheek and send her off and sighed a relief.
Amaya went to her room to rest. She saw Mantu getting ready.
"Tell her the truth. Whats there to be scared about? Its just a tattoo." Mantu winked at Amaya
She got up and went to face him. " Our daughter is only 9. Don't make her so open-minded Mister!"
"Fine. Fine. For the sake of our little darling, I cant upset this sweetheart na." He said putting his hands around her neck.
"Mantu, go! You're getting late!" she pushed him away.
He pulled her back and kissed the tattoo from behind as Amaya blushed.
"You blush just like before. As sweet as my old Amaya" He said admiring her.
"Mantu! Go now" She kissed him on his cheek and went to get ready for office.
Mantu chuckled. He did have the bestest of families which comprised of
Mantu, Amaya and their pyaar ki nishaani, Piya.
