Amitabh's Paa, Sarkar were not iconic :| Nor was Krish IMO. Yes everyone loved Krish cause India's first superhero but everyone knows how crap the movie was.

PC's Fashion should've been here. Cause theoretically speaking, that was the first hit film without a male decade here. if not Fashion, Jhilmil toh definitely deserved to be here- IMO Jhilmil took the show more than Barfi.

Vidya and Kangana's film that are listed..their character isn't iconic per say..but yes their roles are iconic I guess because they paved the way for more successful female oriented films to be made and be accepted in cinemas. Am guessing that's why they made the list.

Only Geet from this list deserves to be in the category of both iconic character and role.

They def missed PC in fashion. That was an iconic role too. Not an iconic character per say. And yes def Sriedevi from English Vinglish should be up there too. That was an iconic role for sure.

I would also add Deepika from YJHD or maybe CE. I think her roles in these films were pretty iconic. Tons of people liked her character. And her roles I feel made a difference because she wasn't playing a flowerpot role in a khan film (CE). While I didn't like her character in CE, I did love her character in YJHD. And I feel like majority also liked her in that film because I recall Deepika said people now call her by her character name in YJHD. She never said that about CE.

And someone mentioned Kangana in TWM and TWR- I agree. She should be on the list too. Even though her act/character in TWM was kind similar to Kareena in Geet.

They should've defined the list better- I had the same confusion whether they wanted iconic roles or characters.
IMO Kangana's & Vidya's roles were much more iconic than Geet was. Vidya killed a terrorist while Rani rediscovered herself after being dependent on people all her life. While Geet was just heartbroken over a guy she thought was true love, & if not for Shahid's character she still would be crying. Vidya & Rani actually deserve to be in both categories- because their characters were what people should look up to & they are memorable characters too.

Meghna was an iconic role too tbh. Meghna picked herself after reaching the lowest point of life, that's what I look at. She helped Kangana's character heal too since she knew what it felt like.
I agree on Sri for English Vinglish! That is an iconic character but iconic role not sure?

Deepika from YHJD was not iconic IMO she was just okay! There are many amazing roles in the industry than to take Deepika's Naina. CE did deserve a mention if it was an iconic roles list but iconic character no!

Kangana's Tanu is iconic role material while Datto could've been an iconic character material if she got a better ending. Kangana's TWMR deserved a mention if it was iconic roles list because what Chulbul Pandey is to Salman, Tanu is to Kangana. No actress has given that big a blockbuster masala film, so yes she did deserved to be here.

And I agree on Tabu too! But sadly I can't seem to remember any of her such roles.

^ That's a good point. ^ I guess we are looking at it differently. You see iconic roles as strong female characters. And I see iconic roles as roles that are popular. Your not wrong, am not wrong. It's just two different ways of looking at iconic roles. If iconic roles need strong character who do amazing things: Salman in Dabangg shouldn't be there since he doesn't do anything important; actually he's a bad cop. But he is iconic IMO.
And actually both shahid and Geet help each other in the film. Geet teaches Shahid to live life fully and he helps her to get over a breakup. There are life lessons you can learn from Geet's character.

I agree about Paa and Amitabh's role. While his role was different and his performance was appreciated, saying that role and character is iconic is debatable. I don't even know the other film of his they listed. Never watched. Must not be that iconic 😆

Disagree about Krissh. What does the film being bad have anything to do with it? His role is iconic. For the same fact that you mentioned: first superhero Bollywood film that's actually successful. And Duggu does a good job in the films.
