I don't have too many expectations from Riya, she does not seem like a strong character as every time she tries to say something, Shivam looks at her disapprovingly and she stays quiet. I think she wants to impress amma ji too much. She already has seen so much bad behaviour from Sarla and Umma ji and she seems to ignore it. I think she will try to be that ideal bahu. I saw her acting and Bade Ache as Dr. Suani and there she also did not have strong role and was not able to show emotions come across.

i find Rani more strong then Riya...she on her own, got entry into her sasural...and here Riya is just standing around paralyzed looking at Sarla, Amit n Shanti...infact she loves the way Shanti taunts Kaushalya...she finds it funny...which is heights...

Come on you all. Its Riya's second day at a new place. Everyone is a stranger to her except for Shivam and be honest, he has never openly told her anything about his home or his family.

So how can you expect Riya to start acting bold? if that happened in real life, people would call her mad. It is common sense for anyone to first understand what is happening around them before they react. She needs to see with her own eyes, and hear it all. She has come across as being sensible and she still is.

All she is seeing is Dadi is an excitable woman, who talks too much and has an acerbic sweetness to her. She is slowly finding things a bit strange - recall her running to stand next to Nimmi and Preeti - that is a symbol that she would stand by her husband and his sisters. But give her a chance to understand first.

I know its been like 2 weeks since the marriage but its still the SECOND day!

And please don't compare her to Rani. That girl knows the family well but to Riya they are all strangers, hence the difference in their behaviour.

The problem is that RIya cannot do anything without Shivam and/or Preethi/Nimmi, standing by her side. Considering the fact that for the past 20+ yrs they haven't done anything to change the situation, shows us that, If and When RIya decides to take a stand, she will have most issues with the 3 siblings.
Since the show is big on not talking back to elders and elders are always right etc. I don't see that happening any time soon. Kausalya on her part will try to shut Riya. Shanti may instigate K, to get angry on R. If things go worse, Shanti and Sarla can create enough drama, before Raghav even get a whiff of what's happening .

Shanti ordered both Riya & Shivam to take blessings from elder Bhabhi & Bhaiyya. Riya promptly did that, but not Shivam.

After all the drama created over falling at feet & tight hugs, seems like CVs forgot to make Shivam fall at Rani's feet too 🥱

Riya also did not take the blessing from her now brother in law Amitwa...😆
