Audience Vs judges
29 Sep 2007, 0324 hrs IST,TNN
Still from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (TOI Photo)
Wonder why it is that the audience never seems to agree with the judges in a reality show.
Recently, when everybody was rooting for Amit Paul to win Indian Idol, Prashant Tamang was declared winner.
And recently, Poonam Jadau who was considered one of the forerunners in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa by the judges, was voted out by the audience. Now if the judges are there to judge the contestants, what's the point of having audience votes? Details on http://www.amitpaul.org

thanks for sharing... i think II format should be modified. 50% votes should be from audience and 50% by judges. Then we can hope to get a REAL indian idol.

First of all the II voting format cannot change unless the original version(pop idol or the American Idol) changes the voting format.

Even if what you have suggested is followed then, what if out of 4 judges 2 votes for one and, the other 2 judges votes for the other or 3 judges votes for 1 and, 1 votes for the other ... how is it possible when there are more than 2 contestants(before the final round).

I was not saying that they have to choose but they should give marks outta 10 or more...so all 4 judges will give marks...let's suppose each have to give marks outta 10..so total of 4 judges will be 40. Now all the contestants will get diff marks..and after getting votes sony ppl shd combine it will judges marks and then total.

i hope u got wat i meant.😊

it is all about audience because they are the ones to buy the album...... if the audience can spend enough money to vote for their favorites, naturally they tend to buy their albums...
think about it! this is the best marketing scheme! invest some and gain a lot!!!!
this is all about involving audiences and making profit out of them!

well i dont think 50% sms and 50% judges system will do any good. Take for example Qazi in Fame gurukul.

THey had this system of danger zone and qazi was in the danger zone every week......whats more they also had a system of putting one person safe every week. Nothing worked in front of qazi.

Or take NAch baliye 2 (they follow 50% sms and 50% judges) where tanaz and bhaktiyar were the best but one point less and they were out because they were not very famous.

junta is not right to decide any talent....however it is necessary because producers would agree to produce a reality show only after seeing the profit generated. Earlier we never had reality shows on such large basis.

well, this is a very good disscission...

but, i think that the judges also should have a say, and some1 was saying wat if 2 of the judges have a different opinion.... for that i think, like in the wild card round, the judges had to decide on 1, only 1, thats how it should be, the judges have 1 contestant who they want to be out, and then there are the votes from the public.
