I'm so glad to hear that this cheered you up π I do agree that it's a rather sad day indeed. The news of PS leaving the show was quite disturbing and I really wish that this step wasn't taken. But something tells me that we don't know what to expect. It's possible that the next MM could work bigger wonders. Let's see. π We still have the rest of them thankfully. So all is not lost. π
Note: I know, pretty short update. ;P Will make up with more updates later. Next update to be on by late afternoon. See ya!
~ CHAPTER THIRTY ~
Nandini was like a gooseberry to Manik. Too bitter to swallow. And too sweet to spit out. Seeing her was the last thing he wanted to do and yet he had no choice but to see her! What an utter dilemma! After all, he had to make sure that she took his shameful secret to her grave. The secret of "whatever she thought it was" to her grave. His very life depended on it! He couldn't even imagine his plight if it ever did leak out! But her plight... would definitely be more than disastrous!
"Can I... come in...?" Nandini said the words in a low mumble. Of course, she didn't mean it. She would rather get the hell out of his sight!
"Close that door," he ordered in a quiet but dangerous growl.
There were questions in her eyes, but she didn't dare to probe him with it. Oh dear lord! Now why does he want me to close the door? Either he's going to kill me or he's going to give me a full show! How I wish Cabir was here now!!!
He just glowered at her for a moment. It seemed that he wanted to reduce her to ashes with his eyes. "Why were you at the door before?" he grimaced at her.
"W-which door?" she stammered.
"Don't act smart!" he spat irritably, "you know exactly which door I'm talking about!"
"But... but I went through several doors in the office today, which one are you talking about?"
Manik was wringing his fingers and gnashing his teeth by now. This girl... she's doing this to me on purpose! "I'm talking about that goddamn door behind you dammit!" he snarled.
Nandini's mind was racing now. How is she going to get out of this mess? "Oh okay... that... I... didn't mean to... it was... I just... wanted to take a couple of files...for the filing... it was in your cabin..."
"You should have knocked!" his voice grew huskier.
"I did... but you were lost," she blurted out the words before she could stop herself. She knew that she shouldn't have said the lost word. "I meant... I did... but you didn't hear me," she corrected herself at his vicious scowl.
"So you should have knocked again!"
Nandini had no clue on how to justify herself further. "I'm sorry," she stammered, "it just happened. I couldn't stop... it's just that I didn't want to disturb..." She cringed at that. The very thought of that scene brought vivid flashbacks right before her eyes! The situation was such that she could never picture Manik with a shirt again, even if he was wearing one!
Manik was on his feet and quite close to her now. "Disturb! What did you think I was doing?" he asked her in a low, firm voice. "Playing?"
Nandini looked up at him. She couldn't help but notice how small she looked and felt when he got close to her. This guy was a monster in every sense! "N-no," she muttered and let her eyes wander everywhere else except for the Goliath in front of her. She just couldn't get herself to look into his piercing eyes. It gave her the chills!
But the minute she looked away, she wished that she hadn't.
Right in front of her, on Manik's computer monitor, playing in full screen was the vulgar, nerve wrecking video of a sparsely dressed cabaret dancer twerking to glory!
