Why Raanjhnaa was banned in Pakistan

They can't show hindu and muslim falling in love. Now only 1.6% hindu are left in Pakistan, such movie can spoil their youth.

Chief Executive Officer of IMGC Global Entertainment Amjad Rasheed, the importer of Raanjhanaa, told that he received a letter from CBFC (Central Board of Film Censors) with directives to shelve the film's release. "The letter from CBFC states that the film portrays an inapt image of a Muslim girl (played by Sonam Kapoor) falling in love with a Hindu man and having an affair with him."

is this the reason they gave for banning this movie ? LAME

so they cant differentiate the reel and real life?? showing a muslim and hindu love onscreen effects them so much that they ban the movie ? weird

That movie showed a Pakistani guy fall for a Hindu girl.

dont know !! even if its ban for the reasons stated above, audience r smart enough to watch it on pirated versions😆..so it doesnt really makes sense banning the movie for that reason !

World keep banning pakistan from trade deals and imposing new bans, pakistan can at least ban BW movies. 😉 Apne theares ko phir se band karwa denge.

Why so much topics regarding films banned in Pakistan? I even dont know if ranjhana was banned or no.. may be it was a low budget movie that is why and common Pakistani mentality is very open minded its not like what is discussing here..

TM this is your second topic against Pak why you are trying to spread hatred again? pak cinema even showed veer zaara on screen.. same story even pak side was little cruel but we saw it on theaters.. and even our cable operators showed Ranjhana alot of time on tv..

Meanwhile russia is trading arms and helicopters with Pakistan, china is about to invest alot in pakistan because of gawadar port and meanwhile India is too dependent on Pakistan because of iran-india gas line and india has saved millions of dollars because we have allowed india to pass gas pipe line through pakistan.. otherwise it could be your million dollars loss.. why only you particular member hate pakistan to the core? Meanwhile Pak is about to become 3rd largest nuclear country after usa and russia.. but dont you know uae and saudia already rejected India's proposal for Yemen war ? So sad
