Last Part

Khushi looked at the twinkling stars and blinked her eyes, smiling. Her life has become like a star, twinkling with life. She was living a dream. A beautiful dream where her Rajkumar loves her, cares for her, makes her smile, never hurts her, gives her everything she asks him for. But is this just a beautiful dream, which will get over as soon as she opens her eyes, or a reality, a reality to last?

She looked down to see the ring on her finger, caressing it with the tip of her finger. Aranv ji had given her this beautiful ring, binding her to him. He is a changed man now. Not a man who has always pushed her away, but a man who does everything he can to make sure she stays with him. Not a man who has always taunted her on her status, but a man who doesn't thinks twice before becoming a helper for her neighbor. Not a man who have always hurt her, but a man who always make her feel loved.

"Amma!" She shrieked and moved back as a figure suddenly appear in front of her. "Arnav ji?" she looked at his smiling face, her hand on her chest trying to regulate her heartbeat.

Arnav chuckled. "Did I scare you?"

"Yes. You did, Arnav ji .."

Arnav laughed. "Sorry ...I saw you standing near the window, so I came here instead of knocking on the door. Sorry for scaring you though. Can I come in?"

"No." she stood blocking his way. "You scared me."

"Kushi , let me come in ...I said sorry .." he tried to jump in, but was again stopped by Khushi.

"No!" she stood there stubbornly. "You are not allowed here"

"Accha?" he leaned in and putting his arms around her waist, pulled her out. "Now what , uhh?" he crooked his eyebrow at her.

"You always do ramanchi!" she smacked her fist against his chest. "Leave me"

Arnav put her down on her feet. "I didn't do any ramanchi. You didn't allowed me in, so I pulled you out." Pulling her against his chest, he looked down in her eyes. "I would always do that if you stop me from reaching you. I will lean in and pull you to me." His sincere eyes looked into her misted ones. "Always" He pecked her lips. "Arnav and Khushi forever."

Khushi smiled through her tears.

Arnav wiped her tears. "Now do you really want to go in, or have an adventurous night?"

Khushi chuckled. "What has gotten into you today?"

"Love... Now shall we go?" Arnav asked.

"But where?"

"Just a walk? Come.." Taking her hand in his, he started walking towards the road.

Khushi looked at him as they walked on the empty road, side by side. The cool air of night washing over them, the freshness settling an unknown calmness in them.

"Khushi..?" Arnav looked at her as he felt her staring at him.

"Ji?"

"What happened?"

"I... I wanted to say ...You ...you have changed..." she said softly.

"Really? Have I? What has changed in me?" Arnav asked, smiling at her endearing face.

"You ...you have become a Raj Kumar ... A Raj Kumar I always wanted ...A Raj Kumar who will love me, take care of me, make me smile, spend time with me, make me feel special, whom I can call mine, who will barge into my room at mid night and ask me for a walk..." she stopped walking and came to stand in front of him. Lifting her misted eyes, she looked into his aching ones. "You will remain always the same, won't you? You will never hurt me again, right? This time I will ...die..."

Before she can continue further, he hugged her, lifting her off her feet and crushing her into him. "Never, never khushi...I will never hurt you ... Never.. I love you, and will always love you ...I will always be your Raj Kumar ... Promise Khushi ... If I ever hurt you again, you ...you too hurt me, slap me, beat me ...but ..but don't even dare leave me ... This time I will die , too ..."

Khushi buried her face in the crook of his neck, all the happiness overwhelming her. "I love you too ...I have always loved you ...but ..you ..."

"I know, I have always been a jerk ...I know, Khushi ...Maaf kardo ...I am sorry ... for every hurt , I am sorry ... " he pulled away from the hug and looked at her face. "Will you... will you marry me? ... This time the way you have dreamt of ... I am ready to do anything for you ... "

Khushi smiled through her tears. "I...I will ... I will marry you ,.. the way I have always dreamt of ...I will make you do all the rituals , you can't escape them ,... You are my raj kumar now ..."

Arnav chuckled and kept her on her feet. "I am ready to do anything you want, Khushi... after all I am your Raj Kumar now ...you can make me do anything ..."

"Yes , you are my now ..." She took his hand in hers and brought to her lips. "My Raj Kumar ..." she kissed his knuckles.

Arnav smiled and threaded his fingers with hers'.

They started walking back home.

"Kitna mazaa aayega, Arnav ji ... first we will go to Devi Maiya's temple to take her blessings , then roka , phir engagement , you will give me another ring, won't you? Phir hoga sangeet , you will dance for me , won't you? You are my Raj Kumar now, you will have to .. Mehendi, Haldi, bohot bohot bohot mazaa aayega ... Phir..."

Arnav looked at her, listening as she chatted away, smiling. He was the happiest man right now. His Khushi is back. And now he will never allow her to leave him. He will always be her Raj Kumar. Her!

With this, the story comes to an end. Hope you all liked it. Sorry if anyone felt the ending is abrupt. One reader has mentioned, she feels like she is reading ILMANY , and while typing the update I too feel the same. And that doesn't interests me. There's no point of writing the same things again and again.

Anyways, I hope it came out good. There will be no epilogue. I feel this is the best ending for this story.
