Sorry but sacrifice and selflessness are not synonyms to haste, impulsive and unthought through decisions.

Shiv was also selfless and worked to help others but he was rather practical, chose a career wisely to reach his goals of helping people and he was rather smart in his approach.

He too was a muchowala Anandi but with a great difference

Aparna, I wish Anandi too was like this lady you mentioned.

I am sure the lady didn't stop at just having a desire. She must have worked pretty hard and stayed focused to attain that one objective of hers. She would have sacrificed a lot.

Anandi was all over the place.

Shiv's greatest desire was to follow the family tradition and join armed forces.
But he gave in to CM's wishes and took up a career in civil services.

His family got him transferred to Udaipur and despite not liking his family using influence t get him posted in Udaipur he accepted it because he cared for his family's wishes

He too gave in to his biological father Anop's unreasonable demands to keep him happy and have peace at home

He too took a lot of nonsense from pea brained Sanchi in his love for her.

So he too was weak when it came to his family's wishes and desires.

May be Anandi never articulated the way Shiv did. But he said his family and it's happiness means lot more than his own happiness and his principles mean a lot more than family and his own life too.

This is what Anandi believed and practices too. Their happiness is her happiness and her principles and beliefs are above everything else

I don't see putting family wishes above one own self as demeaning oneself.
