They need the emotions of pati seva , sasumma seva etc.. BD just needs to cater to this principle, bring out the vulnerability of the leading lady without impacting the story line. And in yesterday epi they did it wonderfully. A stumped Meher in Abeer's confession.

My mom watched it. She was not watching BD till yesterday. And yesterday when Meher pushed Abeer out, my mom had the dialogue " Poor guy she has false ego"😆.

And if my mom likes means chances are TRP aunty bhi aayegi if they keep the track going like this. They just have to show Meher's anger and ego is mock 😆😆😆 to convince TRP aunty.

😆 ofcourse! how can you be genuinely angry at the man you divorced. pish posh! you must only be wronged but not upset at your parameshwar acc to trp aunties.

For the audience who are used to SNS, YRKH etc you have to write the story in such a way that this audience empathize with the leading pair. So we have to give them their dose of drama without impacting the story line.

What most shows do is that when TRP is not coming they take a complete U-turn. The U-Turn will end up in losing the existing audience and they will not get new audience too.

Some clich can be used to get the interest of TRP aunty, there is no harm in that. Only then the shift will happen. people will open up to new stories. DDLJ was a masala mix but it raised the crucial question of a girl's choice as far as marriage is concerned. If Raj Malhotra became a hit, it was because the way he goes up to Simran's dad he is the perfect husband for her is what a girl wanted. A man who respects her family and understands her dilemma's. It needed a Aditya 12 years later to understand and accept a girl not so perfect in Geet. It also somewhat sticked to some traditions but was much bolder than DDLJ. From there it took another 5-6 years for Kahani, Queen, NH10 or Piku to come and become commercial success.

TV is still in DDLJ era or worse than that. A Sooraj Rathi of DABH bought some change. Now we have , Dev Goenka of EHT, Aakash of Ek Ghar banauga or Abeer of BD who are portrayed as flawed but sensitive men along with ambitious Sandhya, goal oriented Durga , responsible Poonam, self sufficient Meher. To ensure their tribe doesn't die the slow evolution has to happen and it will take its time but will happen if the right mix is used.
