Honestly, the title sums up how I feel about the episode. It's like the characters are all playing a game of cards. Mantu and Amaya are hiding their cards but they already know what the cards are in each other's hand. Rama has his cards on open display for Rachita but she doesn't even know if she wants to play. GC has an ace of spades of card and he thinks he owns the right to trump everyone else. Uma is the one who isn't invited to play so instead she is playing mind games with the key players involved - Mantu and Amaya. Rudra has the joker card. He can make or break anyone's game if so he wishes but for now he is a silent spectator. Amaya and Mantu just need to realize they are on the same team and stop hiding their trump cards and doling out their nonsense cards. Rachita needs to realize that she has to be a part of the game. She doesn't really have much choice.
That was a twisted comparison but the episode left me in twists and knots. I didn't get that scene between Mantu and Amaya where he is like see you had to come to me, you couldn't keep yourself away from me and she says there's nothing like that. Was that a dream? Or a very poorly edited scene? It seemed very disjointed to me.
Brownie points to GC for bringing Rishi's photo to the pooja. He seems to have genuinely forgiven and accepted his daughter's family. But of course, his acceptance comes with his own special rule book. The pooja wrapped up pretty fast. I was expecting more longing looks between Mantu and Amaya.
They didn't do much with the Pandithi's hearing disability today. I'm wondering since he is doing the pooja at Mantu's place, do we get to see him mixing something up there? Does he hear shaadi ki pooja instead of Shanthi pooja and get Amaya and Mantu married or something? Wouldn't that be worth watching? Uma madam having done all the arrangements for Mantu and Amaya's wedding. I would do anything to see that look on Uma's face if something of that sort happens!!!
Rama finally manages to tell Mantu that he loves Rachita and wants his help in convincing Amaya to help him to woo her. At this point, I'll be honest, I didn't really get Mantu. I know he is angry coz Amaya didn't confess but he himself keeps saying he knows she loves him and he loves her too. Then why tell Rama not to trust girls and to get a hold on himself and all? But I loved that Rama is so focused and sincere in his love, he paid no heed to Mantu's emotional atyachar wala gyaan on love and simply stuck to his guns. Yayyy Rama!
Not just that, he actually goes on to show Mantu how it's done. He keeps coughing to gain Rachita's attention and shows Mantu how much she cares for him. Mantu obviously in devdas mode tells him why don't you just tell her straight up? And Rama tells him that this is his way. Whenever Mantu falls in love, he could use the direct approach and tell her straight up that he loves her. If only Rama.. If only you'd met him a couple of days ago.. We'd have ManYa doing chori chupke romance now instead of this cat and mouse game.
Rama's mother is pulling out her Saasu maa guns already with Rachita - hand out the Prasad with your right hand, cover your head when you hand out the Prasad and in all these, Rachu ends up dropping the Prasad. And of course, accidentally dropping Prasad is the mother of all sins and brings on the rant about upbringing. Rachita handles her smartly and says I may not know the rituals but I will learn them. Rama's mom turns that into a negative too and says oh she is so sweet. She is too good for us common folk of Banaras bound by our traditions and thinking. You won't get a guy for her here. Thankfully, one look from Dinesh is all it takes to shut her up. And Rachita is already covering up for her to-be mom-in-law. I would say it was sweet if it weren't for the fact that this just means more trouble for Rachita in the future. The typical saas-bahu angle being developed there. Let's hope though that the city bred, smart Rachita, does not turn into the all-bearing-yet-smiling typical soap bahu.
If I was happy about Sneha's approval of Msntu yesterday, I'm irked about her timing today. Just as Mantu was ready to give up and give in and tell Amaya whatever he was about to say, she interrupted them. It's so weird. They both know what the other feels. They both know that what the other wants to say and to hear and yet they keep quiet. It's so frustrating at times that I want to get inside the screen and yell, "he loves you and she loves you. It's Uma's scheming that's keeping you two fools from expressing your love! Now that your madams haven't been broken and you've gotten to know of your love, please get going with the romance!" Since that isn't possible, all I can do is rant about it here.
Rudra surprised me today. He definitely knows what's cooking between Amaya and Mantu. He warns Mantu off because I think even he recognized Mantu from HC's description of the guy he caught loitering around the house that night and he very cleverly put two and two together, what with Mantu beating up the goons that day. He even gave an opportunity to Mantu and Amaya to fess up but the two remained quiet. I wish Amaya had something like, Mantu ko haq hai to worry about me/fight for me. That wouldn't be breaking the promise, would it?
I don't have the energy to waste to comment on Uma's screechy voice and nostril flaring venomous acting. So I'm going to skip that and focus on the part that Mantu had invited Amaya to his pooja and he has full faith she'll come. And if she doesn't, he'll think she doesn't love him. Now Uma Devi is out to make sure Amaya does not make it to the pooja. I have a feeling we'll have to wait till mid next week to see Amaya finally make it to the pooja.
Character of the day - Ramashrey Gupta. For his overflowing optimism and faith in winning his love. You go boy! And please hang out more with Mantu so that some of it rubs off on him too and of course, keeps him and us away from Uma.
Scene of the day - where Mantu almost confessed his feelings to Amaya.
Dialogue of the day - Rama's dialogues about how he'll get to his love somehow anyhow..
Nautanki of the day - Rama's mom. I must admit though that I don't really have a lot of hatred/negative feelings towards her just yet.
Hasi ki dukaan - Rama of course đ
P.S - sorry if the review seems rather disjoint and disconnected. I watched the episode in a hurry and wrote this in even more of a hurry.
