I love love love Rama's character. Rafi Mallik is an absolute treat to watch as Ramashrey Gupta! He is such a breathe of fresh air in the story. But Rama Rama kya hai drama? He turned out to be such a Chhupa Rustam, faking his illness, getting Shyamu to say the right dialogues at the right time to make it seem as though he fell ill coz he worked so hard to memorize the poem Rachita had asked him to. He is pulling just the right strings to make his way into Rachita's heart. Like he said to Shyamu.. Even she won't realize when she fell in love with him. Rama and his dream sequence, bechara! Thank God I knew from the spoilers it was a dream sequence. Or I'd have probably reached into the screen and broken out into the 80s song - "Koi pathar se na maari mere.. Errr.. Rachita ke aashiq ko..." I like that Rama has all the right people around him too - be it Shyamu, or his own dad. I loved how he said, "Rachita betiya wahan akele kaam kar rahi hai. Jaa.. Uske paas jaa uski thodi si madad kar de!" Way to go Guptaji! Whether Rachita admits it or not, she definitely cares for Rama. And it did hurt her when Rama refused to take the glass of water from her and instead got one for himself saying he did not want to trouble her anymore. It was a nice display of haq with which Rachita forced him to sit down and rest instead of helping her. Like they say, there are a million ways of saying I love you.. Did you eat?.. Take rest!.. Have your medicines!.. You just have to listen 😉
Rama already has a decent support group for his love story but he wants one more person. After the hilarious (coz it was a dream sequence) dream sequence, he remembers Mantu.
Now, with each passing episode, I am getting more and more convinced that the astrologer Uma and Amaya went to was either fake or mixed up their horoscopes. Otherwise why? Why would Rama decide he wanted to talk to Mantu right then? Why would he insist Mantu come to the puja? And why would Uma herself convince Mantu, with a kasam no less, to go wherever Rama was calling him? If this isn't destiny playing it's game, I don't know what is?
I like that Rama senses Amaya's desperation. He asked if she was waiting for someone very special but she brushes it off. Can we please please please have a double Cupid? Amaya-Mantu playing Cupid for Rama and Rachita and vice-versa? That would be so awesome to watch! Especially since Rama seems so much more level headed and focused in matters of love.
So anyways, Mantu comes but he is in his own tashan. On the other hand, Amaya is waiting, longing for his presence. And I feel like, even when Mantu started to walk away after getting the numbers of the pandit, he seemed to be dragging his feet.
I love Sneha's approval and love for Mantu. She asks about Mantu to Amaya. And when she sees him leaving from the door, she asks him to come inside. Mantu still turns away but whether it is respect for Sneha or his own desperation to see Amaya just once, he comes back in.
And that's the most amazing, breathtaking, poignant scene of the day. As Neeti croons Manamohana... Mantu steps in and Amaya sees him. As soon as they set eyes on each other, the rest of the world slips into darkness and it's just the two of the them. And Amaya songs the rest of the lines that convey all her pent up emotions so so poetically and beautifully. If Amaya uses the song to express her emotions, Mantu does it merely with his eyes.. The desperate longing, love, frustration, everything that he feels in his heart, you can see on his face, in his eyes. Oh what a scene it would've been if they forgot the world, gave into their longing and just hugged each other right there. You can see it in every tensed line on their face and every wound up fiber of their body that that's what they want to do and you can also make out the Herculean effort with which they are stopping themselves. Mind blowing!
The light filters back into their stolen moments, the voice of Amaya's heart is once again replaced by Neeti's crooning and with that both of them come back to reality where promises and oaths separate them and they step back away from each other. *sigh* the real world is too harsh for lovers! Kudos to Hiba and Dhruv for pulling off the scene so well and to the writers and makers for such a beautiful scene!
In the precap, Mantu tries to make an exit from the pooja but the Panditji tells him since the pooja has started he can only leave after it ends. GC of course, has something to say. Don't know what.
Okay, in my excitement to write about the love stories, I forgot to mention that the CVs cleared our questions regarding Dinesh. He apparently wasn't around when the walls came crashing down. He is visibly shocked and yet he accepts GC's dialogue on love winning over hatred and accepts Sneha back into the family. This is the problem. No one in the Chaubey family questions GC about any of his decisions - good or bad. Looks like GC did not give his son much of a choice or freedom either. And I was right that Sneha was worried about Dinesh's reaction yesterday after talking to Dimple.
Now my gut feeling tells me that the horoscopes were mixed up or misinterpreted. Which means that we might be in for Mantu-Amaya marriage sometime soon. And maybe it'll be Saathiya (the movie and not that dreaded show with the same name) style - where they get married and don't let the families know till I don't know.. Maybe Mantu wins over the family or Rachita gets married or whatever and out of the blue they have to finally admit that they got married. Just thinking out loud. Sometimes I wish Indian TV would operate along the lines of the English one. Finish up a show and upload the episodes on Netflix so I can grab my popcorn and binge watch it till my eyes hurt and then I won't have to rack my brains over what's going to happen next. More often than not, it awakens the writing ka keeda in me and then I spend ridiculous amounts of time writing up scenes and stories that barely if ever get shown.
Enough of my rant now! Your turn!
Scene of the day - Manmohana! Hands down!
Character of the day - Ramashrey Gupta ala Manju style!
Hasi ki dukaan of the day - Ramashrey Gupta yet again. The sly smile he has when he sees his plan working.. Too good!
Nautanki of the day - Uma Devi! I wonder how she'll react when she finds out she herself sent Mantu to Amaya! Lol! That'll be worth watching! Or maybe Rama again for his awesome acting of being oh so ill just win Rachu's heart 😃
Dialogue of the day - "aapki sister is love karte hain. Patane mein madad karengi?" Lol Rama! Really??!!
Oh! And before I go.. They've been focusing a lot on the panditji's hearing disability. It's been highlighted again and again - with Sneha yesterday, Rudra today and Rama talked about it to Mantu as well. I wonder if that's going to lead to some interesting scene. Mistaking Amaya and Mantu to be a couple? Or maybe Rama and Rachita? Let's wait and watch!
