Which language did Muhammad's parents, grandparents, wives, friends and enemies speak? Arabic. Again, nothing to do with Islam. Local traditions and cultures, including names and languages, can be older than religions or empires or persons they got to be associated with later.

In the end, all that the serial-makers are trying to accomplish is to choose names, accents, costumes, etc that are recognizably apart from one another and from those of Magadh.

The story has certainly become interesting although the CVs keep trying to drag it.
