Inseparable hearts
Chapter 12
Pari was happy to celebrate her birthday with both mother & father. She blew the candles & cut the cake. She fed both of her parents. Rishabh & Madhu too fed their little daughter. Soon Pari & Rishabh started playing with icing. They kept chasing each other. That reminded Madhu of their first encounter, how Rishabh used to chase her playfully with icing. A smile crept in her face after re calling those beautiful memories. Suddenly she felt someone rubbing her face with someone. It didn't take a second to realize that it was icing. Little Pari was giving an icing facial for her mommy. It gave Madhu a tickling sensation.
'Aww Pari baby stop it!'
'No way Madhu ma'am! Oops I mean mommy!' 'It's my birthday & let's have fun!' Pari was giggling. Rishabh was laughing hard after seeing Madhu's face.
'Hump! you think it's funny?' Madhu made a face. Rishabh couldn't control his laugh. He put the front camera of his mobile & showed to Madhu. Madhu too laughed out loud after seeing herself. Suddenly she realized that Rishabh & Pari were giggling too. She felt embarrassed & faked anger. Rishabh & Pari exchanged a glance & made a high five.
'Pari!! you have become very naughty' Madhu spoke strictly, in a fake way.
'Of course! Did you forget she is Rishabh Kundra's daughter?' Rishabh winked.
'Hmm yeah! Pari has inherited all those mischievous qualities from you!' Madhu chuckled.
Rishabh was talking to Madhu seated near her in the sofa. Mischievous little Pari was about to carry out her plan in giving her father a nice icing treatment in return. Madhu noticed it & the mother & daughter exchanged a glance. Rishabh didn't see Pari who has climbed up to the sofa, behind him. In a swift, Pari started applying icing all over her father's face.
'Pari no!' 'Stop it baby!' Rishabh was struggling to get over it. Soon Madhu's old mischievous qualities popped up. She too joined in helping her daughter to attack her soul mate with icing. Rishabh was under attack by the two most important female souls in his life. Madhu & Pari were giggling. Rishabh literally looked like a kid who has played in mud. The chocolate icing looked like sludge all over his face.
With all the attempts of stopping his naughty girls he could surrender them by wrapping his strong, wide arms around them. He almost hugged them tightly. Rishabh & Madhu shared an intense eye lock. They were lost in each other. Both of their hearts were filled with happiness after a painful past. They were fortunate to come across each other again after 6 long years. Pari snapped her fingers & it almost brought her parents back to reality. Rishabh & Madhu shared an awkward smile. Pari was giggling.
'Pari you naughty girl!' Rishabh patted her. Madhu smiled. They had a wonderful time together as a family. Meanwhile Madhu's friend was worried about her because she hasn't returned home yet as it was late night. Madhu informed that she will come soon.
'Mommy! it's our home! why can't you stay here?' Little Pari inquired.
'Umm sweetheart, I haven't inform about my friend yet that I found my family. She is worried for me. I've been at her place ever since I came to Melbourne. So I have to go there now.' Madhu tried to explain. But Pari seemed to be a little bit upset. Rishabh tried to console her.
'Baby! Mommy will come to stay with us soon. Okay?'
'But when?'
Madhu leaned down her & cupped her face. 'Soon Pari! Mommy will come to you & daddy soon.' She placed a gentle kiss on her daughter's tiny forehead.
'Pinky promise?'
'Yes! pinky promise.' Madhu promised her daughter.
Madhu freshened up. Thankfully her dress wasn't ruined but icing were everywhere on her face. She helped Pari to clean up. Then Pari took her mother to show her room. Pari showed the wind chime which she'd been talking to throughout the years. Madhu felt nostalgic after seeing it. She recalled the past memories of their 1st anniversary. Her eyes were moisturized with happy tears. Then Pari showed a photo frame of Pari & Rishabh together taken on Pari's 5th birthday. Madhu rubbed it gently. They were her world. Rishabh came to the room after freshening up. He noticed Madhu's expressions.
Rishabh put his arms around her shoulder. He smiled at her. Now this photograph will be soon replaced with a new one, a complete family photograph. Madhu wanted to see Pari's photographs as an infant because she never got a chance to see her daughter grow up. She had tears in her eyes while going through the albums. How her Rishabh has took care of their baby girl. He was fulfilling duties of both mother & a father. She smiled at seeing her little Pari. She was unfortunate to live in these moments.
Madhu was sitting on the corner of Pari's bed going through the albums. Pari was almost asleep due to tiredness. She enjoyed her birthday well. Rishabh was staring at them with happiness. He realized how his life changed in a single day. Madhu is back in his life.
It was time for her to leave. Pari was asleep. She placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Pari held her hand tightly in sleep. She wasn't letting her mother go. Though she was in deep sleep, she must have felt that her mother was about to go. Madhu placed another soft kiss on Pari's tiny hand & slowly removed her hand & put on the blanket. Madhu wished that she could stay all night with her little daughter, caressing her hair & watching her sleep but she had to go to her friends place. She had to settle down the things.
Rishabh wanted to keep Madhu at his place from that night itself but Madhu explained him that she should inform about everything to her friend. Rishabh told her that he wants to start a new life with her. Madhu wanted the same. Both of them were eager to unite.
Rishabh dropped Madhu to her friend's place that night. Madhu shared the whole story with her friend. She knew a bit of Madhu's past but she was astonished to hear about the past incidents. She was happy to see that Madhu is back with Rishabh. Rishabh thanked Madhu's friend of taking care of her.
Days passed & Pari got her school holidays. It was almost a month after Rishabh & Madhu's reunion. Rishabh wanted to complete their relationship by officially getting married to Madhu. As he promised earlier he wanted to marry Madhu with her parents consent. Madhu tried to explain how her father cut off his ties with her 6 years back. She was in touch with her mom. Padmini used to call Madhu once in a while but after coming to Australia she couldn't keep in touch with her mom. She even sent a letter but there wasn't any reply. She was a little worried about her. No matter how bad her parents have treated her she couldn't stay without thinking about them.
Rishabh decided to go to India with Madhu & Pari. He wanted to find out Rashmi who has been missing for the past few years & punish for her messing up with their lives. He wanted to get married to Madhu in India, with the blessings of her parents. Rishabh wanted to unite Madhu with her parents as well.
Finally they arrived in India. But they didn't have a proper place to stay over as he had almost sold out everything as he never planned to settle down in India again. He booked two hotel rooms for them. Little Pari was confused why her father booked two rooms as they all can be in one. Madhu & Rishabh got embarrassed when their little daughter inquired about it. Rishabh wanted to start a new life with Madhu after their marriage. He wanted to maintain a physical distance with her till the marriage. Madhu was pleased by his actions. She remembered how he felt guilty after their first night.
India was a new experience for Pari. She was only 1 & a half months old infant when she was taken to Australia. She loved everything except the heat in India. The climate change didn't work well for her.
Rishabh & Madhu started their mission. They went to Madhu's house but they were shocked to hear that Malik & Padmini doesn't live there anymore. It has become a property of Deepali. Deepali has taken over Malik's business & properties. Deepali was not there at the moment. The guards didn't let Rishabh & Madhu enter. Then they met one of the old workers who had been working for the Malik family. They were shocked to hear what he said. Her parents had to shift to an elder's home about one & a half years back as Deepali dumped them out of the house after taking over Malik's business & properties. They were helpless & Malik was suffering from a disease.
Finally after a lot of difficulties finally they could find the elders home where Madhu's parents were said to be staying. They inquired the in-charge of the elder's home about Malik & Padmini. After a small discussion they confirmed that they are there. Rishabh, Madhu & Pari were permitted to meet them. The in-charge officer guided them to an old room.
Madhu couldn't believe her eyes. She saw her father, on a bed unconscious & her mother beside him. Both of them have grown old. Both of them have gone down & they looked like a couple suffering from poverty. The officer informed Padmini that her daughter has come to see her. Padmini couldn't believe her eyes. She was shocked to see Madhu & Rishabh.
Madhu kept staring at her parents for a while. She was dumbstruck. No matter how bad they treated her in the past, she couldn't see her parents suffering. Malik was shocked to see his daughter after a long time. He was staring at her with teary eyes.
'Madhu...' Padmini was shocked & confused. She couldn't figure out if it was a dream or reality. She had been waiting to see her daughter from ages.
'Maa...' Madhu couldn't wait anymore. She hugged her mother tightly. Tears started rolling down from both of their eyes. Both of them couldn't speak a word. It was an emotional reunion of another mother & a daughter.
'Madhu.. Madhu how come you?' Padmini was puzzled how she found out their place.
Madhu explained everything from A to Z how she ended up here. She shared her dreadful past & further told how she had been separated from her baby & Rishabh. She became tearful while re calling the past.
Madhu noticed the tears in her father's face. She has never seen him emotional. He used to be furious & ruthless. Malik signaled her to come near him. He was lacking words to talk. His eyes were filled with guilt & helplessness. He gathered his hands, seeking forgiveness.
'Ma..Madhu.. I.. I' He coughed twice. He has a difficulty in talking. Padmini offered him water.
'Madhu.. I... I am.. sorry.. I.. I know that.. that I don't..d..deserve.. forgiveness.. from you.. but..' He stopped midway to cough again. He seemed to be week.
'Madhu..' Malik cupped her daughter's face. Tears started forming in Madhu's eyes seeing her father.
'Madhu.. I .. I know that only I'm.. I'm responsible for whatever the things happened in your life.' 'I.. I wish.. I wish I could have treated you well..' He sobbed. Madhu didn't know what to say. She was silent. She couldn't believe her father's present state.
'I.. I am now suffering.. Yes.. I am.. I am suffering for my misdeeds in the past.' He coughed once again.
'Malik please. Remember the doctor told you not to talk!' Padmini reminded him while giving another glass of water. It was heart wrenching for Madhu to hear that her father is suffering from a lung cancer. And also He has undergone a paralytic attack a few months back & he cannot walk.
'Papa...' Madhu called him Papa after a long time. She was speechless. She used to hate her father for his draconian rules in the past but as a daughter, she couldn't see her father suffering.
'Madhu.. Madhu.. I .. I know it's too late. You.. you have undergone a lot. I.. I was wrong.. and I.. I realized it late. It was too late.' Tears started rolling down Malik's eyes. He was guilty of treating his daughter bad. The karma served him back with a lung cancer. His belongings, house & the business were taken by Deepali.
Then he signaled Rishabh to come forward. He gathered his once again to seek forgiveness from Rishabh as well. Rishabh patted his back. He asked him not to talk too much as he would strain himself.
'Ri.. Rishabh..' 'I.. I am sorry beta.' 'I.. I was too late when I realized my mistakes..' 'I..I know.. I know that I cannot mend them.' ' Now.. now I realize how.. how wrong it was to separate you two. How wrong it was.. how wrong it was to ill-treat because.. because you are Mohan's son..' 'I.. I wasn't ready to accept my flaws. My.. my ego.. was above all.' He coughed once again. Padmini warned him not to talk. But Malik was stubborn. He didn't have a peace of mind till his daughter forgives him.
'No.. no mater how we tried to separate you.. you both were inseparable from hearts..'
'We?' Rishabh was confused. 'You mean there were more behind this, right?'
'Hmm..' 'Yeah..' 'I.. I regret joining hands with them.'
'Them?' Rishabh asked again. He almost had a gut feeling that it was Rashmi & Deepali behind this along with Malik.
'Yeah.. Rashmi & Deepali.' Malik started unveiling the past. Padmini was shocked to hear about it as she was totally unaware of it.
Malik told how much he used to hate Rishabh because he was his business rival's son. He wanted Madhu to get married to another wealthy businessman. But she was already in love with Rishabh. He further told how he got to know that Rashmi was behind the news paper incident. Madhu was at Pune back then. Initially he blasted out Rashmi for tarnishing his reputation. But later Rashmi explained him her plans. She promised him that she would separate Madhu from Rishabh by hook or crook. The plans were delayed for a year because Rashmi had to go back to London for some of her important work.
Meanwhile the love grew between Rishabh & Madhu. The things got worsen with Madhu being pregnant. In other hand Deepali was also in the team. She never cared about Madhu or Rishabh. The only thing she wanted was money. Rashmi pretended to be helping to Malik to save his daughter but she had evil plans as she wanted Rishabh in her life. She didn't let Malik know that she was in love with Rishabh. Deepali helped Rashmi on carrying out her plans as Rashmi was already in good books of Malik & it was easy for her to get Malik's business secrets as well because she used to work under him. Deepali helped Rashmi on an agreement that she would help her if she helps her to take over Malik's business.
Deepali accomplished her goal in taking over Malik's business & assets. Rashmi failed miserably as Rishabh always maintained a distance with him. Rashmi was planning to use Pari to get close to him but her plans were failed. She was hell disappointed. After the departure of Rishabh she was fuming with anger. She faked that Rishabh was married to someone else & she fooled Madhu.
Karma struck unfortunately for Rashmi. She had to pay off for her misdeeds from her life. She didn't want to accept her defeat easily. She was planning to kill Madhu. She was about to execute her plans but the karma served her before it. She was killed in a major road accident following severe injures. Her vehicle almost blasted while she her car skidded collided with a petrol bowser truck. She died 3 days after her accident suffering from severe burns. 80% of her body was burnt & she had no hope of living. Her family members got to know about the accident a week later. She couldn't even see them when she was releasing the last breath of air. Rashmi's fate was tragic.
Madhu & Rishabh were shocked to hear about Rashmi's brutal death. They understood the cause she went missing suddenly. Because of Rashmi's death, Malik couldn't carry out his plans further. Rashmi was the only way to convince Madhu to get married to someone else.
'Yes.. karma served us.. Rashmi is already dead.. and.. I am about to die soon.' Malik's voice was shaky. The truth was out.
'And.. and.. that.. Deepali.. I.. I never thought that she would dump us out of the house.' 'She is money minded..'
'Madhu... Rishabh.. I.. I know I.. I have committed a crime.. yes.. it.. it was sinful. I.. I am also responsible for your separation..' 'But.. but I regret my past deeds. I.. I want to die in peace.. I want to release myself from this heartache Madhu..' He gathered his hands once again seeking forgiveness.
Madhu looked at Rishabh with teary eyes. He nodded her approving to forgive his father. They knew that Malik had learned a lesson. Both of them held Malik's hand.
'Papa..' 'Papa I'm glad you have realized your misdeeds. I know that you cannot mend your past mistakes. We've been under a lot of pain that cannot be described. But..'Madhu stopped midway expecting a few words from Rishabh.
'But we know that you regret them. And we don't want to see you suffer either. Humans make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. Sorry to hear about Rashmi's death but it is a true fact that we cannot escape karma.' Rishabh added.
Finally they forgave him. Malik cried being thankful for them. It was an emotional reunion. They assured that they will get back the Malik mansion from Deepali & will take Malik & Padmini back to their residence. Malik was happy to see his granddaughter Pari. Pari was all confused to see the incidents happening around. She was a bit hesitant to go near Malik.
'Baby it's your grandpa. Come on talk to him.' Rishabh asked his little girl who was hiding behind him with fear.
'D..daddy.. daddy are you sure it's my grandpa?' 'Look at him! he.. he looks so scary.'
'Pari.. no need to fear about anything. See mommy & daddy is also here.' 'Go.. just talk to him. He loves you.'
Pari slowly stepped near her grandfather. She was expecting a nice, kind hearted grandfather but all she can see his that he looked strict & furious. Though the time changed Malik's attitude, his facial expressions were somewhat the same. Malik caressed her hair & apologized his little granddaughter too. Pari was confused as hell because she didn't understand a bit of the elder's conversation. She looked at her parents cluelessly & then they signaled her to accept his grandfather.
Finally Rishabh told his idea about getting married to Madhu soon. Malik & Padmini blessed both of them. Malik too wants to see his daughter as a bride before he dies. Madhu was happy that Rishabh kept his promise. Finally they are going to get married with Malik & Padmini's consent.
Madhu & Rishabh moved on to their next mission. Rishabh rented out a house to live till they get Madhu's house back. Malik was consulted to best doctors in the city for treatments.
Then at long last Madhu & Rishabh went to meet Deepali. Deepali was shocked to see them together but she pretended to be as usual not affected by their presence.
'Oh what a pleasant surprise to see the love birds together! Welcome to my house! yes it's my mansion now!' Deepali smirked.
Madhu was silent, Rishabh proceeded. 'Nice to see you too! Miss. Deepali! So enjoying the luxurious life huh? After snatching it from your own father?'
'Oh seems like that old fellow has provoked you guys!'
'Pardon me Miss.Deepali. What did you say? that old fellow? Mind your words. You would not probably exist in this world without him! Is that the way you treat your own father?'
'Huh.. who are you to speak about it?'
'Yes! I do have a right. Because you have illegally undertaken my to-be father in law's properties.'
'To-be father in law?' Deepali laughed out. 'Oho! so the loving son in law is trying to get into father-in-laws good books right?' Deepali smiled sarcastically.
'He already knows my value. I don't need to try cheap tricks to be in his good books unlike some people. I have come on behalf of him. Give back his property that you are keeping illegally.' Rishabh raised his voice.
'Who are you to interfere our family affairs huh?' 'I know Madhu is greedy to have her share. So you were sent here specially to get her share right? I know how much you care for your father in law Rishabh! I'm surprised to see your love & care for him after what he had done to you!'
'Deepali! We all can clearly see who is greedy for money & property, right?' Rishabh smirked.
Madhu started speaking. 'What did you say my loving sister? that I'm greedy for property?' Madhu smiled sarcastically. 'For your kind information, I don't need a single amount of it! I have my Rishabh & Pari with me. They are my priceless assets. But I want justice for my father.'
'Look who is speaking! Can't you remember how he treated you?' ' And specially for me! Since your birth he never cared about me. He sent me off to a hostel & let me live a miserable life. He gave all the comforts to you! But not me! Nothing would have happened if he didn't ditch my mother & marry Padmini! Deepali spoke furiously.
'I know he treated us badly as a father. It was his nature. He regrets of the pas. But I suffered more than you. I always tried to keep a good relationship with you as a sister. But you never even care about it. You always wanted to hurt me. I know you got an immense pleasure by hurting me all the time. And you! you joined hands with Rashmi to make my life more miserable. You helped her to separate me from my Rishabh & my daughter.' Madhu raised her voice.
The sisters had a major confrontation. Rishabh too spoke on behalf of the Malik family. But she was not ready to accept her flaws. But finally Madhu & Rishabh took a legal action against her. They filed a case against her & the court ordered to return the illegally taken property back to Malik. Malik was thankful for Madhu & Rishabh. Finally they were back in Malik mansion. Deepali had to accept her defeat. She fled away.
Finally the things were back to normal. Happiness beamed in their lives. Rishabh & Madhu were ready to tie the knot & start a new life. The elders fixed a marriage date. They were all busy with marriage preparations. It was a great experience for little Pari to witness her parents wedding. It was a rare chance for a child.
The wedding preparations were on full swing. They had a wonderful Mehendi ceremony, A sangeet ceremony & a haldi ceremony before the marriage. Pari had fun applying haldi for her parents. Madhu & Rishabh showered their daughter with kisses. Pari was excited about the wedding more than anyone else.
On the night before the wedding, Madhu was caressing her daughter's face. Pari was snuggled up to her mother, sleeping. Madhu flash backed her life journey. There were so many ups & downs, twists & turns & finally she has reached to the destination of happiness. She is going to start a new life with her Rishabh, tomorrow. Happy tears formed in her eyes.
Then she heard a noise coming from the door. Since it was late night she was a bit worried. She heard a tip toe. Then she felt someone covered her eyes & she was about to scream. Then the same person covered her moth tightly & hugged her. She looked back. It was none other than Rishabh who is impatient to get her back in his life.
'Rishu..' 'Rishu what are you doing?'
'Shh! our princess will wake up!'Then Rishabh took Madhu in his arms forcefully & took her to the balcony.
'Rishabh! Rishabh what's..?'
Rishabh tightened his grip. ' Why? can't I see my bride to be?' He winked.
'Rishu! you! you are breaking the rituals. Remember we were advised not to meet each other till the wedding? Madhu chided him showing a fake anger.
'Oh please Madhu! We broke the biggest rule 6 years back! what is left there to break?'Rishabh chuckled. That made the happiness of Madhu's face fade away. Rishabh noticed it & he back hugged her.
'I'm sorry Madhu.' 'Do you still regret about the past incidents?' Rishabh was a bit worried. Madhu turned back & put her arms around his neck.
'No! If it didn't happen, our Pari would not have been existed in this world.' Madhu smiled. 'Thank you for giving her in my life Rishu.' She cupped his face. Rishabh placed a soft kiss on her hand. They got emotional after re calling the past memories. How they have come up a long journey as a strong couple, facing all the obstacles & finally they are in the door step of a new life.
'I love you Madhu..'
'I love you too Rishu..'
'I just can't wait to start a new life with you tomorrow' Rishabh cupped her face.
'Me too.' Madhu smiled.
Then Rishabh pulled Madhu more closer from her waist. He titled his head. He cupped her face & came more closer. They were only a few inches apart. Both of them could almost hear their heart beats. Rishabh came more closer for a kiss. He was almost smooching his lips. Madhu pushed him playfully before a milli-second he was trying to touch his lips on hers.
'Aahaan! not so soon!' Madhu winked.
'Madhu!!' Rishabh was embarrassed.
'Patience baby patience! Just be patient for another 24 hours!' Madhu giggled & ran away back to the room.
