New Zealand Aims for final!

New Zealand skipper Dan Vettori said his team must not spurn the chance to appear in a rare major tournament final when they face Pakistan in Cape Town.

They owe their place in the ICC World Twenty20 semi-finals thanks to India's heavy defeat of South Africa.

Vettori said: "Luckily for us it worked out well. We make a lot of semi-finals, now it's about kicking on."

Unbeaten in the tournament, Pakistan won their three Super Eight matches by significantly wide margins.

Vettori said he did not watch the match in Durban, when India not only guaranteed themselves a place, but took the Black Caps with them on net run-rate thanks to their heavy defeat of the host nation.

"I was trying to avoid it as much as possible because we knew what it was going to be like," he said.

Chasing has been the preferred methodology in the tournament.

But Pakistan's captain Shoaib Malik, who has gelled well with new coach Geoff Lawson, said: "If you have a strong bowling line-up you can bat first and put pressure on the other side.
