First and foremost, this is my personal outcry to whats been happening with two shows. Namely, the one to which this forum topic belongs to, and indian idol. These shows give polls to the audience presuming that the audience knows what they're doing. From whats been happening, its pretty clear that the audience has no clue whatsoever what theyre doing. The wrong people are being voted out and the ones who dont derserve to stay remain in the show (ones who dont compare to those who get voted out). first toshi, now abhaas, whats going on? I personally think that the indian audience has problems. Im not going to be specific as to what kinda problems they may be. But if this goes on, then the audience should get very little privileges at deciding who stays and goes. The judges should have most of the power. Becuase the audience is definitely not ready to handle this responsibility. Say what you want but this is my opinion. Oh and i forgot to add. if this is how the audience performs. it brings to question whether the indian audience really knows what skill, music, art, is. Maybe the people who make these shows are just putting the fate of their contestants in the hands of an illiterate public....

Big city's contestants always win on majority of votes - it doesn't matter how they sing.......

Small city's excellent singers always voted out due to lack of support!

very sad............

hmmm... as much as i respect your opinion, i will politely disagree.

Pick up any reality show, any - and most of the times the judges are not impartial or unbiased.
There have been major fights, not only the usual nautanki, but complete opposite statements from different judges, one saying 'it was better than the original' while the other claiming 'it was completely off-sur/taal'

As for myself, i don't really care two cents about the judges opinions, i vote for the contestant whose song touches my heart. there are so many times i find some song irritating and the judges go wah-wah. and at times i love something and the judges say it was rubbish. i go by instinct and what appeals to my untrained ears.

The point is that music is not science/maths. there are no correct answers. Its a matter of opinion. very subjective. sometimes even the most off-key song touches the heart because you can see the honesty of the singer in it.

Oh, and by the way, there is nothing ILLITERATE about the indian public. pick up any international show, you will find similar trends. Indians are neither illiterate nor lacking in skill, music or art. I resent the naive generalisation.

Abhaas is a good singer.. no doubt about that.

But why cry foul only for Abhaas?? Even sumitra do not deserve to be in the last two. She is a better singer than Abhilasha!

Abhilasha been pampered a lot by Alka yagnik. Its all so evident!! She makes so many mistakes and still the mistakes are ignored.
The sardar guy,(I dont remember his name)though had good voice, hardly has any energy or enthusiasm in his voice.

The last two should have been Abhilasha and someone else.

I dont think halining from big city fetches you good number os votes. If so, Sumitra would not have been in last two! So spare her.
