The photoshoot seemed a little odd though. I mean,back in those days women were kept as far away from the spotlight as possible. The queen was far too important to engage in these triflings and it was considered beneath one's dignity to be a part of magazine covers.

Also, since it is based in the 1940s, I wished they incorporated more elements of the British Raj. the palace seemed almost too grand for the dwindling conditions of the maharajas. Also, I liked Gayatri's introduction scene and that beneath her innocence, she is a sorted individual having great faith in the prince. But, my complaint is that they made her character way too generic and the bubbly, talkative, simple heroine of every other show messing up in the beginning and drawing the ire of the more important (socially, I mean) hero.

I couldn't honestly find much difference from Drashti's previous shows, i might have just been watching Geet or Madhubala.
However,This is just the first episode and i'll reserve my absolute judgements for later.
I'm really looking forward to the unravelling of Ranaji's character, especially his involvement in the military.

Okay back to topic! Alright let me just tell u...my History sucks! The only thing I understand is Media, Business and Maths. Thats it. 😆

Yep true...Rajmata indeed shows elegance. I agree totally with Ur take on her. As far as the photoshoot is in question...I don't knw much about how indian royalness used to be like..but I guess it had been added by the cv's to show that this rajmata...is a very proud rajmata! 😆 by this I mean...She loves herself...the way she dresses...acts...her peesona screams that she is proud to have her status! And she wants the world to knw...yet not giving away too much about herself. That could be told as she kinda refused to take pictures with her son...She wants to keep the world intrigued by her and her family.

I live in London...and we have a royal family here...and let me tell u...the British love their Queen! The whole Royal family!! So the Royal family does give out pictures...in magazines and also visitors. I visited St. James Palace...this is where Prince Charles lives...the king to be after the queen...and when I was there...they gave out multiple pictures of them...their family to us. This doesn't ofc course have to be true for the 1940s in India...can't say much as I don't knw...

Yes I do hope that they include the British here...they r Royals and Rana fought at war...they must kinda frequently come to the palace. Plus I believe this is pre independece right? So I would like to see their interference with the decisions of this Royal Family.

Yh I guess Ur right...a very stereotypical character..but then can't really blame them...because this is what usually people want to see...they don't like new...they like their usual...like Reporters for example...Ananya is different but how r the Trps for that show?? Not good...

But anyway lets see how this story goes and its characters.

Agree with you. ..first episode is a bit let down. ..I thought it will b a naraation of background of the story n will start with one lead n other will b in second epi...but too much happened in first epi that it's more like a OS than FF...lol talking in ff language but that's what I felt. ..couldn't connect to the show. ..lets c if cvs take care of script n screenplay or just rely on richness. ..

I like dat d show was slow. Too much drama in 1st episode would not be good. I was thinking dat maybe both families would be introduced but thank goodness it didn't happen.

Rajmata is for sure a loyal wife n mother but she is trapped in chains of pretense. I didn't thought dat she would pay any heed to d maid's words but she did. We r gonna see a lot of shades of her in coming episodes.

Ranaji's painful expressions showed how much he cares for his ppl. He was worried for a normal soldier rather than saving himself. He for sure is a responsible leader.

Gayatri's bubbly attitude in contrast to ranaji was just perfect. She is not d one to listen to all illogical demands of elders. Even after her mother against her study, she still went to library. She is gonna be a perfect n understanding partner to ranaji.

Well 4 me lots of things happened in the 1st episode didn't felt that it was slow. But yes even though they showed the royal family & the simplicity in Gayatri, and the amazing visuals I was expecting it 2 be much better than what they gave us. For me the episode was ok, the visual & acting were the highlights. I'm glad they did only fiocused on the past, Ranaji, Gayatri & Rajmata instead of starting it with drama. Once they show only drama from the beautify just start tuning the show.

Wat I liked the most was the emotional part they gave 2 mother & son, we got so many informations bout their characters & eat Gayatri think & all that I'm sure they'll closely build up the story with interesting twists.

Yes I agree...even thoug. We learnt about maybe the three main characters...I too was expecting something more...not a bomb blast...just something which would excite me. And totally agree the visuals were fantastic! They did a great job there!

Saner here...I too loved when Rajmata was so proudly speaking of her son...am being honest...She is my fvrt character so far... 😆 I knw only one epi...but there is so much already that I can see and leant about her!

Don't worry...I think they will give usmore flashbacks of him with his wife...and tbh...I want him to find his lost wife in Gayatri, yet she should make a total different place in his heart...I wanna see a comparison between gayatri and his first wife...I think that would be really interesting.

Yes many r saying that...but all I can make sense of is that even if her character is similar to Geet and Madhu...She is completely different! Not person wise but era wise! For Madhu and Geet to be like that in today's world is totally normal...but here we r in the 1940s!! For a girl to one how to read and write...how to drive...how to live so carefree was next to forbidden! People would look down on such girl...maybe that is ven why kids call her bhaiya! Would she be like that in todays time...then nobody would question it...but back then it was a big thing...and due to that I think Gayatri is such a different character!

Well I haven't seen Lootera so can't comment on that...

Oh great! Another Media Student! Then u would probably understand where I am coming from...Media changes u..they give u so much stuff to analyse on a weekly basis that whilst watching films and shows u start looking at the Mise-en-scene and camra angles...screenplay..

I would have analysed some camera angles too but felt that people might not understand it...and the reasoning behind it...so left that 😆
