Watching some horror movies from around the world lately.
Spanish, Japanese, some American. Pretty good. You don't need to rely on special effects. A lot has to do with a well written script, story and acting. You can take what is the most ordinary of locations and make a haunting story about it.

Noticed Bollywood is still stuck in the C grade horror movies of the 80's.
A pretty girl with big tits running away from her tormentor in a cat and mouse chase.
At times it becomes more hilarious than horrific. Really bad acting.
