It was a very disheartening episode, the way the family contemplate on Diya's situation. They take it as a punishment for the whole family and are willing to have her daughter to go through her life with the stigma of I was raped and I hid in the house to avoid the community". Yes it is difficult and embarassing to bring this incident out in public,,,but there are consequences.

If they do bring it out...the whole family shares the burden of shame and discrimination of society and Diya will have the impression that her family is behind her and Shaurya will be her guide. This will help her to regain yourself and get on with a normal life, as she will be surrounded by people who love her and took risks to share her pain with her...

If they make Diya hide and keep the whole incident bottled up inside her...the family will be less affected of shame and discrimination but the agony that Diya has to go through is going to be scarring her for life and every second of her life will be a torture. Like Ani_98 said, everytime she sees herself in the mirror the sting of her weakness will manifest in her eyes. The pain is going to be heavier as time goes on and she may not regain herself and her trust in her family and the people around her can never be felt by her.

Yes Shaurya is there, but he only can encourage her to a certain extent but that is not significant enough for Diya to feel justified. Again Shaurya did not force or make her decide to take action...it was Diya's decision on her own accord. So how she is going to handle her life now onwards is in her hands alone...

Episode today reflected the great performance of Kunal Karan Kapoor. As we all know whenever he is performing he elevates the performance of others around him together...I feel that this is happening again, Neha Sargam, Diya's father have given very good performance. Especially Diya...her expression to show her pain was remarkable.

Hshan you make some good points. The journey she is is going to make now...is going to be very difficult for her. Specially not having her family around. She will feel she is being abuse again and again.

If due to circumstances she has undergone things liek what Diya underwent she is considered an outcast of society and not suitable for a normal life like other normal" girls. That is the fear that drove Diya's family to behave in a way that they did...

The parent have been unreasonable but...if analyzed properly the root cause is still society and their irrational principles and unfair perception. Society is willing to adapt social development such as educated and working daughter in law...as it is beneficial to them. But when it comes to other matters such as beahviour, chastity and the background they stand by the rules and prerequisites. The worst thing is this conditions are ensued even if the girl is not responsible for what she went through. It is a pity...but things are difficult sometimes...

Jsut hoping Kunal Kaan Kapoor and the team will create soem awareness in this issue through Doli Asrmano Ki.

I agree with you on this. I live in Europe. Even here the boys are out having fun...but when time for marriage come they want a pure and untouched girl.

It is not only rape victims but also separate women, that has to go through a lot. They are judged in every step they take.

But there are certain things that I would like to talk about. The attitude of Diya's family is quite disturbing( which is exactly how the majority of our society thinks). The repeated usage of the word " Izzat" is something I am not comfortable with. Agreed, she has been sexually assaulted, but how does that amount to losing her Izzat. It is this attitide which hurts a rape survivor more than anything else. She feels ashamed and guilty and does not even dare to talk about it. It makes her feel that her life is not worth living anymore. As long as the society treats her as if she has lost her integrity for no fault of hers, she can never overcome the pain she has gone through no matter if the perpetrators are punished or not. Yes , she has been violated physically and also mentally, but DEFINITELY NOT her sense of pride.

As far as the show is concerned, its nice that they are showing a guy fighting for her rights along side her. That there are men who understand a woman's pain and can inspire others to join the fight. Diya is shown to have the courage to fight back, not just against the society but her family as well.

And yes, I totally agree that the love track should not be rushed. It is Diya's fight that has to be the focus. Hope the makers are sensitive enough. But, the way they are running a parellel track of Ishani's story in the midst of such a sensitive issue just reminds me not to have too much expectations from them.

Neha is very good. It must be really taxing for her too.
Kunal is fabulous as always. no less than the best. His eyes speak volumes of unsaid words and emotions

Thanks Souji 😃 I also like that they are showing a man fighting. Hoping that some men will lean something from it. I think one of the great thing about DAK is that we are talking about it, discussing it and learning something from it and from each other.

I remember when they showed the rape scene many was negative and it was women who had hard time supporting the track...I though it was so intelligent move and very risky one.

About IShani's story I think it is to bring some lighter scenes in to it. Small scenes are fine...to long scenes is too much, because you are pulled out every time you are in a moment. Beside the rape track I want them to show Shauya's journey too. I think his character is very interesting and I would like them to dig more in to it.

Yes Kunal Karan Kapoor is fabulous in every scene and in everything he do.

Ain't that the truth!! They are amazing. I've only ever watched Kunal Karan Kapoor in Pratigya as Angad and I like him coz he was sooo bad!!

I'm learning about him and now I'm a fan. Neha and Kunal compliment each other because this role they have, can't be easy for the both of them. Always have to have their "A" game for emotion. Love them...👏👏👏
