A/N : Hello all! So, this plot has been floating in my mind for the longest time and after countless arguments with myself I have decided to pen it down. I used to write for the IPKKND forum but haven't written since. Thank you to Kabir and Ananya's impeccable chemistry, I just couldn't hold myself back. Not having written in so long, I doubt this story will be any good. I wanted to give it a try anyway. If you do like it though, let me know in the comments below. Ok I am done rambling now.

prologue

12th May, 2012 - 1:20 am - Delhi

Kabir tried to ignore the incessant beeping of his phone. He hadn't slept in days. Weeks maybe. He was unsure. He had lost count. His work and clients left him devoid of any rest. Perhaps becoming a lawyer was a bad idea after all. He sighed and reached out for his phone. He cursed under his breath when the brightness hit his groggy eyes. The name flashing on the screen was enough to get him wide awake. He answered with trepidation.

"Di? Is everything alright?"

"Kabir..."

The long pause at the other end of the line did not help calm his erratic heartbeats. He licked his dry lips and clutched the phone tighter like his life depended on it.

"Is she...is she alright?"

"Kabir...Ananya is in the hospital."
