Don't worry peeps, not here to bore you all. 😆
Of what I managed to find out amid the sea of FFs and OSs was some members debating whether MaNan are gonna "do it or not" and some celebrating the show completing a year.
I'm celebrating too, in my own weird way perhaps but I am. 😳
It's just sad that I don't have a vm to put a cherry on top as my own lappy is lying dead. 🤢
So, this is not exactly a celebration post, Sue has taken care of that already and props to her for the thread! 🤗
Like I've mentioned in the post I wrote ages ago on how I fell in love with MaNan, here I'll just type a few thing on how KY2 as a whole has affected me.
I started watching the show from the very episode where Nandini-bullying was at it's worst (episode 8). A bunch of jerks making a baby-faced girl do an item in front of the security was too much for me! I happily ignored it and continued fangirling over a different show on SP till like a few days after that, I saw siggies and avi's of the bullied girl and one of the chomu bullying her in Abray's dabba. I didn't realize that Abray was watching that show too. However, what shocked me were the avi's that had both of them sitting together, most probably singing as the dude had a guitar.
I wondered WHAT BROUGHT THIS ON? 😲 I wondered if it was a dream sequence, it couldn't be from the girl's side, was it the guy's imagination? Them playing guitar together after he happily bullied her? 😕 It didn't make sense until someone else dreaming about them singing a duet! 🤪
Curiosity got the better of me and I watched the repeats starting with Nandini punching Manik to them ending up singing together. By that time I remembered all their names. The first scene that stood out for me was DhruNi looking at each other, smiling, a cute music playing in the BG, Dhruv about to get up and take Nandini's name and BAM- Manik takes the niwaala away from the topi dude like a boss! 😎 🤣
I might have facepalmed seeing that scene back then but I couldn't deny the IN-YOUR-FACE symbolism it held! True that I've wanted, actually HOPED for Harshad to be opposite Nandini once I saw his entry on bike, but even I knew in my heart that it's just wishful thinking. 😆
True that I've been pretty much indifferent towards Manik's character and was rather mad at Nandini at first for bowing down to him instead of handing him to police on charges of kidnapping or bullying or anything. But somewhere it was the unique, no-dupatta, no hair-flying, mint-fresh approach of the show that made me stick to it and wait how things play out.
I've realized that I was right in doing so.
And it's been a year since I've done that and I still don't regret fangirling for this show like I've never fangirled ever!
Never have I ever seen a male lead who doesn't mind showing his weakness or being weak in front of the girl he loves. Someone who doesn't think that crying in her arms is "not manly" or "shameful". Someone who is a sexual being and is absolutely unapologetic about it. Someone who have no qualms in admitting that he needs her when he needs her, someone who've always acknowledged how strong she is, stronger than him in fact and that it was him who needed protection from her! 😃
Never have I ever seen a female lead who has shown strength and vulnerability, innocence and maturity- all at the same time! Someone who accepts and acknowledges her attraction towards her man. Someone who goes on to save her man from himself, from spiraling downwards despite getting being so badly heartbroken. Someone who have no hesitation whatsoever in making the first move instead of acting coy, someone who knows how to snatch her right to choose! 😎
Never have I ever seen another show which has covered so many sensitive topics- right from homosexuality to teenage pregnancy. A show where the characters talk about sex and condoms like everyday topic. A show where Mommies are good for nothing and Chachi saves the day. Where a woman is hinted to have a dirty past with a guy her son's age, where nothing is taboo- right from a girl throwing a bikini on a guy's face to wonder aloud whether the teacher is into BDSM! 🤣
Also, never have I ever defended the show and it's cast so aggressively! Never have I trended for anything.
Not to mention that this show has spoilt me forever!
Every time I see two people kissing on-screen, it all looks so mechanical- I'm talking about both Bollywood and Hollywood.
I end up comparing every male lead I see on TV screen to Manik and female lead to Nandini.
Also, some words have been ruined for me! For eg- Pani, Professionalism, focused, phenomenal, racist and the list goes on! 😆
Ok, so done with my blabbering, off to you all! 😳
