How did Kohli became captain-Unreal Times

Virat Kohli makes his way to the batting crease with a sense of purpose. His team was under pressure, as the Australians had taken early wickets for almost no score. A nation was waiting for its savior.

Kohli takes his stance and goes on to play the innings of his life.

As he raises his bat he sees a delighted Anushka in the stands sending flying kisses his way. He walks to Dhoni and says, "BC I can't believe it. I just hit a century. This is too good to be true!"

Dhoni calmly replies, "You are absolutely right."

Kohli frowns.

"What do you mean?"

"You're in a dream. Do you remember how you got here? What you had for breakfast?" asks Dhoni, and adds after a pause. "No, you don't. See the extractors are after you."

Virat Kohli looks around him, to find the Australian fielders glaring at him.

"You're joking. I don't believe you," he says weakly.

"Ok, take that ball and spin it," replies Dhoni calmly.

Kohli picks up the ball and spins it. To his horror, the ball does not stop spinning. Soon the Australian fielders gather around Kohli with the intention of beating him up.

At this point, the umpires declare tea.

"Follow me," says Dhoni, and leads Kohli off the ground.

Back in the dressing room, Dhoni says, "In order to get out of this situation, you must commit suicide."

"How??"

"Take this DVD of Action Jackson. It will do the job."

15 minutes into the movie, Virat Kohli breathes his last...

Once again, Kohli wakes up in the middle of the pitch. His team is again under pressure. The South Africans have taken early wickets and the onus is on him to score.

Kohli takes his stance and saves his team from follow on. As he raises his bat after a hard fought fifty, he spots Anushka in the stands, clapping and cheering with great joy.

He walks towards Dhoni and says, "BC I can't believe this. I just scored fifty runs. Look how happy Anushka is!"

"Yes it is unbelievable," Dhoni says calmly.

"What do you mean?"

"You're in a dream. Do you remember wearing the pads? Do you remember what you had for lunch? No. You don't."

"This can't happen again!" Kohli cries.

"Take the ball and spin it."

Kolhi does so and realizes Dhoni is right. As the South African players menacingly gather around Kohli, Dhoni leads Kohli off the field to the pavilion.

Back in the dressing room, Dhoni hands Kohli a DVD of the movie Roy, and says, "It will be painless this time."

10 minutes into the movie, Kohli's eyes close...

Kohli wakes up in the middle of the pitch yet again. This time it is England that has his team under the pump. Mustering whatever confidence he has left, Kohli walks to the crease and takes his stance. The bowler comes charging in and knocks his middle stuff off. Kohli goes for a duck and walks back to the pavilion sad and disappointed.

Once he gets to the dressing room, he flings his gloves and nearly breaks down. Suresh Raina taps his shoulder and sends him to the adjoining room where Sachin Tendulkar, his role model since childhood, the person who meant everything to him, is sitting on a couch staring at the television with a forlorn look on his face.

"I am dissa... dissapo... disappoint...," Sachin says with anguish.

"I know Paaji," says Kohli. "I know you are disappointed that I couldn't be you."

"No," says Sachin. "I am disappointed, that you tried."

Saying thus, Sachin leaves the room, leaving Kohli in a state of cathartic numbness.

Just then, a scene from Himmatwala plays on Set Max, and Kohli passes out...

Kohli wakes up on the team bus, groggy and disoriented. He gazes around at his team mates as if he was looking at them for the first time. When he gets his bearings back, he turns to Raina and tells him, "Sachin wants me to be my own man and not just to live for him. That's what I am gonna do yaar."

Raina nods with a smile.

"I will not just be a batsman, I will be the leader. I will take this team to greater heights and yes, we will win those foreign test tours and reclaim the World Cup," adds Kohli.

Dhoni observes this with a calm smile on his face. The inception had worked just as planned.

The next day he announces his retirement and Virat Kohli is appointed captain for all formats.
