King Khan in a dilemma
Shah Rukh Khan is in a fix. He is finding it difficult to decide between giving priority to Rajkumar Hirani's next and Sivaji maker, Shankar's sci-fi thriller, Robot.
"The King Khan had verbally committed dates to the Munna Bhai series maker from January for his yet untitled next with him, but just last week Chennai based, Shankar told SRK that he was done with his pre-production planning for Robot and is looking forward to getting the film on floors from mid-January and that would require SRK's immediate reply over how to go ahead with the same," a Bollywood source informs.
Shankar's film is a Rs 100 crore budgeted futuristic thriller and is supposed to feature Shah Rukh in a never seen before new look. The look is supposed to be such that he cannot re-change it in between two schedules for another film. Since Hirani's film, based on Chetan Bhagat's best selling novel, Five Point Someone will have him sporting a very sober look, it will be difficult juggling between these two looks for the King Khan.
Last time when SRK and Rajkumar Hirani came close to doing a film together but had amicably parted ways was for Munnabhai M.B.B.S. Hirani's first choice for the golden hearted goon's role in the film was Shah Rukh but then Sanjay Dutt stepped in and rest as they say was history. Adds the source, "The Chak De! India star is extremely keen now not to let go of this opportunity of working with the editor turned filmmaker. He will be trying to talk it out with Hirani over how they can reschedule the film. At the same time he will also be discussing it out with Shankar, who most probably will be coming to Mumbai this weekend to meet the Baadshah Khan over Robot."
The source also tells us, "What might complicate matters further is that Hirani has also booked John Abraham's dates for the SRK film from January onwards. So, if SRK succeeds in reshuffling the Hirani film schedules then John might be the losing party as he has other prior commitments to be taken care off."
Shah Rukh is currently busy with the final edit and promotional campaigns of his home production, Om Shanti Om that's set for a November 9 release. Till January, barring a few days for Dulha Mil Gaya, he won't be shooting for any film. He needs to get over his predicament quickly and take a decision faster.
