No no, I am not in a mood to be sarcastic today. It was nice balanced episode. So without further ado...

Things I liked:
The first scene: This one came together very nicely. Jo placing the talwar on Madho Singh and saving Salim, not caring that Madho could easily turn on her and slice her up. Jo telling Akbar and rightly so, not to kill Madho as this would ruin the auspicious occasion. The way Akbar praised Jodha without any undue gushing was very royal and also very genuine.
Salim could have taken a second to thank his mom for saving his life but then that would have seemed too filmi since most kids in reality rarely feel the need to thank their parents for anything until they themselves become parents. Sad but true.😔 Parents are there to serve their kids.😊😊
Rahim-Murad: Rahim knows that Murad has killed Shahab. Maybe he will keep a closer eye on him from now on and perhaps Murad will be sent away to take care of the Deccan or Gujarat to keep him out of mischief. This Murad has really turned into a bad boy hasn't he? Poor Shahab...one more villain gone.😭 Lagta hai Rukaiyya se hi kaam chalana padega.
The Wedding: nicely done. Two questions 1)why is Anar here, there, everywhere?? 2) Why couldn't they show FB of the sindoor scene of the JoJa wedding? Baaki sab theek tha.
The Mardana Jashn: Akbar needs to hang around with his Navratans a little more. Birbal joke was a PJ. You could see AF getting all huffy and puffy as Birbal was pulling his leg.
Bhagwatdas' guilt and embarrassment about Madho's actions. I don't know about you but this Bhagwantdas is a great improvement on the original one IMO. The dialogue delivery of the first one sounded a little stilted.
The thing that I loved today: The tipsy Akbar! Did RT actually down a few for that scene? It was so natural! That entire part was beautifully done. Now this is the kind of romance I am looking for at this point of time. This is the romance that seems more natural for a couple in their late forties and married for over 25 years. Not the sugary sweet concoction of yesterday.
The way he speaks in shuddh Hindi with his Jo. The way he keeps on saying Madira. The way he expresses his love for his son. The way he seeks reassurance from her about whether he did right by Salim. And then they put their heads together and sleep. How adorable! I just loved the entire sequence.
I know I may come across as a person with Bipolar disorder because of the inconsistent nature of my posts, sometimes positive, sometimes negative, sometimes Jo sometimes Ja, sometimes up sometimes down. But I can assure you I am not crazy. Honest to god.😉

Hi very nice write up as usual Devki. Today I really felt that we r in for a quick ride in a shatabdi express. They mixed all things in one episode. I really felt they could've shown the Shahab-Murad scene some other day. They should've simply given this shaadi one single episode at least. We all r already disappointed as they r showing it in Agra not Amer. There is no grandeur, no happiness n gaiety nothing. They ruined one of the highly talked about grandly celebrated marriage of Mughal history. They have showed Sukanya's wedding some what grandly n in a more detailed n better way. Only TRPs rule nothing else matters I think. They get the ratings way before the public. They had expected good ratings for this MEA track, but with these poor ratings they chopped the track. I am really disappointed with this marriage sequence.

The only scene which really impressed me is the last one between JO-JA. RT is always excellent in these kind of tipsy topsy drunk scenes. we've seen before also. But what really made this scene excellent is the end part. Their teasing each other n talking in diff languages is good, but that's not new. The final part where he says that he loves his son immensely, but he is helpless as he has to be tough with his son for his own good n his need for her understanding him n that reassurance that he did the right thing... its simply heart touching. It reminded me of a scene in Atifa track, where after arresting MA n all, when these two r in her room n they talk, then he expresses how he was hoping against hope that it has to be some other not MA, n his sadness n hurt n disappointment everything is shown in that half smile of his to hide his hurt for JO's sake. that is a wonderful scene. Today this scene reminded me of that. In those 2 r 3 dialogues we can feel his feelings for his son as a father n helplessness as an Emperor n seeking re assurance as a hubby. Every thing is there. 👏👏 I really feel bad for JO as she never gets these kind of scenes😉 RT is a gem in showing these little nuances very clearly. very well indeed.

Just watch the last part for RT. One could tell he was tipsy the minute he entered Jo's room just by looking at his eyes and the tiniest bit of a slur in his words. Nothing very obvious. That's what made this episode totally worth watching. IMO, it was one of the best of RT. I seriously don't know what to say about him. He is too good. Yes we have seen him very drunk before but to portray being a little drunk and not totally sloshed is more difficult and he did it!

@ bold Soumya, that last bit from the moment Akbar enters Jo's room made this episode worth watching. That scene was so good. Like you said the husband-wife interaction totally touches the heart. That scene was a truly good JOJA one after a long time. One with love, caring and depth of a mature relationship. Not a lollipop.
They want Ruks to be villain-E-Khaas isliye Shahab ko bhi jaldi maar daala. What to do? Ruks ke smirks aur jhelne padenge. Maybe Murad will step into Shahab's shoes? He certainly seems to be heading in the right direction.
I am happy they at least showed both ceremonies in the wedding otherwise in a rush to finish it they might have just forgotten about one.😆

Very nice review, Devki.😊.
No Devki, you don't have bipolar disorder. You are just honest in your reviews and that is what I love about you. I am also like that. If we criticise any JA episode or any characterisation that does not mean we are not JA loyalists.

I liked the episode and was glad that certain things were not dragged till next episode. Madhav Singh's capture was expected. The only thing I am not liking is presence of Anar everywhere😡
It is but obvious that the way story line is progressing, she will not be killed, but high time she should be sent off from Agra for good and put an end to SA track.
In the movie MEA, Akbar announces walling of Anar because of certain defiance showed by her when she performed on the song "Jab pyar kiya to darna kya". In the movie if Jodha was shown to have relented for Salim Anar marriage after initially showing her displeasure, it was only to prevent war between father and son and she never actually felt sorry for Anar. That is what I remember of this movie.
Here Anar has been shown to be the moorti of sacrifice and highly glorified by Jodha so killing her would be out of character. That is my POV, lets see what CVs have in store.
Yes, Rajat was spectacular in the last scene.👏. I have started falling short of words now in praising this marvellous actor. God bless him and may he keeping climbing up the success ladder. Same goes for Paridhi. They both deserve the best.

Another fine review. Another decent episode.

The interesting thing about the episode is the speed at which they are closing the Mughal e Azam track. Also interesting to note, even on their big day, the focus was not on Salim-Man Bai but on Jodha Akbar.

I don't know what it means, one can speculate that the serial is ending soon so they are rushing through the tracks or maybe the serial is not ending any time soon, but since Salim and company are not able to hold viewer interest(ratings have fallen in this track) they want to end this and start the MUZ trading track. Well, who knows?

The highlight was obviously the last scene. Rajat as usual was scintillating, his drunk avatar had the right expressions and choice of words.
