It seems like people here are all so busy whining about his forgetting the lyrics in Tanhayee that you're all forgetting his big achievement of yesterday:

His Bulla Ki Jaan was OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING, and not only that, but it was in a language he doesn't speak (and probably doesn't understand)

I can tell you from experience that singing songs in unfamiliar languages is about twice as hard as singing in one you're fluent in- you not only have to worry about sur and taal, but now you've got the added problem of trying to pronounce everything right without actually being sure of the pronunciation. Now, I don't know Punjabi, but other users here have kindly informed me that his pronunciation was all correct!

So, hat's off to Amit, for not only giving your best performance, but doing it in Punjabi!
👏

well 4 all those who say amit 4got the lyriz...HE JUST MISSERD A BEAT... n 4 anyone who knows anything abt singin, if u miss a beat it is not easy to catch up from the middle... u have to wait for the line to get over n then pick up ... if u pick up frm the wrong place u r likely to spoil the whole song... taal pura galat ho jaayega...
so ...he did miss a beat ...he did not 4get lyrix... there is a diff...he 4got lyrix in "chal chalen" n "omkara" n admitted it... here he just missed a beat...

n dont go crucifyin him 4 one mistake... he has given oustanding perf week after week...keep his earlier perf in mind...

Thanks for bringing this up, we really needed some moral boost after all the bashing, anyway i agree, at first i didn't know that amit doesn't understand panjabi, i was shocked to know that he sang with feeling a song where the feeling he doesn't even understand. hats off to you amit, your a real find of the indian idol.

A moral boost is definitely what I was aiming for! I think it's a total shame that people are complaining so much about his Tanhayee that they're ignoring this totally awesome performance!

It seems as if people are forgetting about all his wonderful performances because they're so focused on this mistake of his. What about all those times that Prashant sang totally off-key? Do those not matter any more, since he out-performed Amit in this one song?

I know what you mean, you know prashant was once my fav too, but that was before he took a one month sick leave in the middle of the competition, anyway i admit prashant was better than amit in the last song mainly cos amit forgot his lyrics, imagine if amit didn't forget his lyrics then prashant fans wouldn't have had anything to bicker about and we could have actually discussed how good amit was that day
