MEA track has started off on a complex not but there are a few things I liked and did not
Liked
- Anarkali not really dying to marry Salim, she just want his happiness and his happiness is making her his wife
- Akbar firm on stand - like any father he wants son married to a good girl from good family with royal background
Salim- The one difference in movie and serial I found was in movie Salim starts with high octane from day one to Akbar, he comes and gives a letter saying release anarkali now or else all sort of threats, no fear of father no laj sharam etc more adult reaction
The serial Salim is still a teenager reaction, he allowed his father to pull his hand and drag him back to house(I thought only girls are dragged like that), he bent his head and did not dare meet fathers eyes for long, he even spoke soft tone of his desire to marry anar, he is upset at his fathers rejection and anger and stopped having food etc typical teenager reactions so far no Over the top recations and challenging adult so far
Man Bai - the typical girl on verge of marrying, in deep love with her soon to be hubby. Poor girl, I do not think salim can meet her needs of love and care. Of course he respected and cared for her as a cousin sister, childhood friend and first wife but soul mate I doubt. She just remained lonely an husband who did not love her, a husband who married frequently for political reasons or crush
What I disliked
Jodha- Oh my God her reaction is totally wrong, instead of driving sense in her son she is going and meeting anar then agreeing to talk of their marriage, the Ekta Kapoor maan heroine is back. Where was that proud rajputhani who went and warned salim to be hazir for roka or elseee? First loyalty is to family that is man bai not anarkali MEH, her reaction is not suiting that era or her stature.
Zil Bahar- Another mother who is not giving correct reactions, should she not be scared of Akbar's warth and warn anar, how is she openly allowing salim to meet anar after so much mess
Hamida- Patriach of family must have more objections to salim marrying anar than even Akbar the great, here she is giving dumb reactions, she must slap the hell out of salim in reality
Salima- Another dumb character, just keeps quiet for everything no opinion of her own on this matter and ideally oppose salim
What I miss
- A real royal feel to the story. Imagine a crown prince falling for a dancer and going all odds against family and society to get her,
where is that passion in salim and anarkali especially anarkali she is jodha number two all sacrificing uff what about some love some defiance to parents and society should only salim do all work for you?
great sacrificing lady saying salim go and marry man bai again and again? where is that pyar kiya to darna kya attitude girlll
here only salim is acting like majnu giving up food, all brooding, running to her house drenched in rain, wanting her to accept him so he can fight it out? Anarkali has become jodha part2 sati savitri heroine who sacrifices her love for friend man bai tck tck real salim would have slapped her if she spouted such dialogues
Where is family's opposition even Akbar seems unconvincing to me as a angry dad, he must be fuming and rolling his eyes out not coming to tie pagdi rajputhana style
Murad , daniyal and haider must be scheming against salim is this not right opportunity boys to get even with that shah I shah
Hamida, salima, jodha all must be putting sense in salim, a few slaps, a few threats to get proverbial son on right path nothing is happening
It looks like in Mughals every prince usually falls for rakasha - reaction is so timid
Here is my take on what all would do in reality
Akbar- arrest anarkali and send salim to war, if he refuses to go just tell him anarkali is dead if he does not leave by sun settt
Jodha- slap salim for daring to love anarkali, threaten him that she will disown him as her son if he continued this affair and join forces with akbar
Hamida - do emotional atayacahr on pota jaan and give vasta of her life if he dare to go ahead with anar affair
Salima- make him see sense on why family is opposing
Ruqaiah- give him her tounge lashing that she not accept an rakasha as next empress and her next heir
If this happens then TRP will sky rocket - no one wants all family timidly giving up for salim
