You are a brilliant writer, love reading your FF's. Do continue to write more.

Thank you so much!!!
I will definitely continue. And I am glad you enjoyed kamini scene, I had fun imagining it as well 😆😆

Hi,
So here is another chapter.
It isn't really my best work, but realized I hadn't updated in a few days.
And was also sad that didn't get any scenes today, so decided to write 😊

Chapter 5

"Mujhe nahi aacha lagta jab aap mujhse door baagti hain"

She knew that she was being unreasonable. It didn't make any sense to be this upset with him, especially considering he hadn't even done anything. It didn't make any sense. She was capable of handling any situation with maturity and rational and so far she had. She dealt with her loses and accepted the sacrifices she would have to make. She knew that she was capable of acting sensibly, but in this moment she just couldn't grasp it. An otherwise inconsequential situation and she had turned it into a huge issue and acted immaturely.

Parth had tightly closed his arms around her and watched her constantly changing expressions. He knew she had a million thoughts running in her mind and was still contemplating the situation. He waited patiently and took some peace in knowing that in this moment she couldn't run away from him. He wasn't used relying on someone this much. He wasn't used to feeling so restless and unsure. But when it came to her, he just couldn't help the fear that came from her running away from him.

He didn't want her to ignore him any longer. So he pulled her closer to him and laid his head on her shoulder. His proximity forced Vibha to come out of her thoughts and she began squirming in order to try to put some distance between them.

"Don't leave"

Parth still had his head on her shoulders, so she couldn't look at him. But the exhaustion and plea was clear in his voice. So, she stopped squirming and tentatively wrapped her own arms around him and tangled her fingers into his hair. She wanted to be with him and close to him as much as he wanted to be close to her. But she wasn't able to control the emotions that seemed to be flooding her. Despite the irrationality of it, she still felt the jealousy and frustration. She still felt the unrest. But it seemed more important to be with him for a few more moments. So, she didn't run. Instead, she continued to run her fingers through his hair and she sensed him begin to relax and some of the tension leave his body. He tightened his hold on her before raising his head to look at her. He looked so vulnerable and it pained her to realize that she had caused him so much grief. But still, the unrest and hint of annoyance didn't fade. She couldn't seem to let her fear, her annoyance and her jealousy go.

"Kyun aap mujhse door bhaag rahi ho?"

"Meri marzi"

She turned away from him and refused to look back. It was clear that she was upset and perhaps angry at him. Despite the grief that it caused him, it also gave him a sense of content. The way she was upset and angry with him made him feel like she was asserting her right over him. He just didn't like the fact that she refused to look at him. He didn't like that even though he held her, she was leaning away from him with her arms crossed. He didn't like that she was squirming in an attempt to get away. It made him realize that she still wanted to run away from him, again. But this time, he wouldn't let her run.

"Gussa aa raha hai?"

Instead of replying, she turned her face to look at him and just glared in response. Judging by her glare, maybe it would be best if for a change he was the one doing the talking. He feared if she began talking, then it would lead to him being the one squirming away from her. He just didn't know how to approach this situation. He had never had to pacify anyone and never wanted to either. But it was different now. He may not know how, but he felt a hint of excitement in learning how to pacify Vibha.

"I am always the one that is constantly angry. It is a nice change to see you being the angry one"

"You don't have a copyright on being angry, despite being karus. Now let me go"

"Mujhpe gussa suit karta hai, aap par nahi. Kya hua? Baatao na, kyun door bhaag rahi ho, please?"

Parth gently shook her to try to get her to talk to him. He kept his stare on her until she relented and slowly turned to look at him. But as soon she was about to say something, she turned away again. She started shifting on her feet and staring intently at the ground. It was clear that she was struggling to find the right words.

It had been easy to talk to Parth, maybe always too easy as without meaning to she would share things with him. But she was having trouble now. She had wanted to ask him questions and wanted to tell him everything. But she refused to let him find out about how irrational her feelings were or the degree of jealousy she was feeling over basically nothing. Maybe it would have been best if she just waited for the foolishness to fade, but she couldn't stop herself from at least trying to figure out how Parth felt.

"What does it matter? Tumhare paas aur bhi log hain na"

"Mujhe koi farak nahi parta ki mere paas kaun hai ya nahi hai, jab aap hi mere paas ho kar mujhse hi door bhaag rahi hain. Please baat karo na"

But Vibha still didn't look at him, and instead stared at her own feet. She knew by the desperation in his voice that all he really wanted was for her to talk to him. All he cared about was her being close to him and talking to him. It seemed to take away from some of her turmoil, but she still had to put to rest the remaining fears. Finally, she slowly looked up at him and tightly held his hands in hers.

"Don't you sometimes feel...I don't know... like you may miss out on being with some different?"

"What do you mean by different?"

"I mean like being with another student, someone that you can relate to better"

"No"

It was a simple answer and a simpler truth. He just didn't understand why it took her so long and so much trouble to grasp such a simple fact. It wasn't even an issue for him, but slowly he came to realize that it was for her. She hadn't said anything for a while and it started to make him nervous. But thankfully she finally looked up at him.

"Why?"

Her eyes were wide with uneasiness and water.

He sighed.

It was a concern for her. He understood that it stemmed from her caring about him and for caring about things that he may miss out on. He just didn't like seeing her like this, this vulnerable. He leaned back against the wall and just stared at the ceiling trying to contemplate the right words. Vibha watched him for a moment. This conversation was taking a toll on him. He looked exhausted and tired. She was about to leave thinking that time away from this conversation would finally give him some peace. But before she could, he grabbed her hand. He slid down the wall and took a seat on the floor. He looked up at her and gently gave her hand a pull.

"Sit"

He looked so tired and troubled. So, Vibha obeyed and took a seat next to him. He took her hand in his and they just sat in silence. Vibha watched him as Parth continuously ran his fingers on the design of one of the rings on her finger. He looked up at her, only to look away again and back at her ring.

"I find it hard to talk to people, to tell things to people"

He finally spoke up, but still he didn't look at her and continued to play with her ring. She waited for him to continue.

"I have had friends and have made some rare friends here. And it's not like I don't talk to them. Well, with friends like Utkarsh, I mostly listen."

Vibha smiled. It was true. Whenever she had spotted them together, it was mostly Utkarsh talking and Parth just absently nodding his head. They were opposites, but somehow their friendship made sense.

"But despite them, I seem to struggle with the simplest things that come easily to everyone else. My whole life, I just have always been closed off. Kisi se bhi apne dil aur dimak ki baat nahi kar pata, aur shyaad karna bhi nahi chahat tha. Par aap se, har baat share karna chahata hoon."

Parth finally turned to look at her. She could see the struggle and urgency resonating in his eyes. She placed her hand on his face and continued to stroke his cheek. This seemed to calm him a little and he took a breath before continuing.

"Puri zindagi, kisi se koi baat nahi share ki. Puri zindagi mein kisi pe itna vishwas aur itni importance nahi di. Par aap se mein baat karta hoon. Aap par itna trust karta hoon. Aur mere liye apki importance sabse zaada hai."

Parth leaned in and gave her a soft kiss on her forehead before looking right into her eyes.

"Don't you get it? I am not missing out on anything. Because my entire life, I have been missing you. And maybe I need a better way of showing you. A better way of making you realize your importance in my life"

Vibha hugged him. Relieved, Parth held her. She looked up at him and felt remorse for the trouble she had put him through. As she gently started tracing the worry lines on his face, they started to disappear.

"Nahi, Parth. You already show it and say it in so many ways."

She caught him staring at her and felt herself blushing. She shyly looked down and grabbed his collar. He was smiling as he allowed her to continue playing with his collar.

"Sorry, Parth. I just don't know what came over me."

"I know what came over you"

Parth had a glint in his eyes as he looked at Vibha's confused expression.

"What do you know?"

"You were jealous"

Parth had a smirk that seemed to irk Vibha to no bounds, so she shoved him away.

"No, I wasn't!"

"Yes you were"

"No, I wasn't"

Vibha stubbornly crossed her arms and stood her ground. She got up and pretended that she was about to leave.

"Ok, ok! You win. You weren't jealous of Angela almost touching my hand"

Even though Parth was admitting defeat, Vibha felt that he was still teasing her. But before she could over think it, Parth pulled her to him. He brought her closer to him and wrapped his arms around her waist. Vibha slowly placed her head on his shoulder and put her arms around him as well.

"You know..."

Parth broke the silence between them as Vibha continued to nestle into him.

"Hmm"

"Angela wears gloves. So, technically even if she had touched me, she wouldn't have actually touched me"

At this Vibha pushed him back and stormed out of the fire escape leaving a confused Parth.

"What did I say? Vibha! What did I say?"

Parth started running after her, but she didn't look back as she stormed away from him. She wasn't paying attention and accidently bumped into Utkarsh in front of the library.

"Mam, are you ok?"

Vibha turned pink from embarrassment and looked back to see Parth was almost here.

"Yeah, sorry I wasn't paying attention"

"It's okay, mam. Actually, I am glad I ran into you or that you ran into me. I was hoping that you could help understand the assignment on Shakespeare. None of it makes any sense and I have no clue what they are saying or for that matter who is saying it and it doesn't even seem to be in English..."

"Utkarsh! Relax, come I will help you"

Vibha looked back once more before running into the library with Utkarsh. Parth continued to walk towards the library. He didn't understand how in one moment she so close to him and the next he was left by himself and her storming off. He still smiled despite it. She didn't react or respond in this way to anyone else. So, he smiled as he followed her into the library.

Vibha and Utkarsh were sitting side by side and she was patiently explaining the lines from the book. As he was walking in he saw Kamini mam was sitting at the front desk and glaring at Vibha.

Does Kamini mam have some sort of alarm or tracker set that she always seemed to find a way to get in between them?

Parth let out a sigh but continued to walk towards Vibha. She looked up at him and glared. Parth just shrugged as he took the seat in front of her. Utkarsh finally looked up from the book and smiled at Parth.

"Hey, bro. What are you doing here?"

In response Parth stared at Vibha and she looked quickly looked down at her book.

"Uhh...I just wanted to read"

He randomly held out a book, and it turned out to be another Shakespeare novel.

"Seriously, bro. Boring ka boring hi rahega, hain na mam?"

"Haan."

Parth scowled at Vibha and she glared right back.

"Aur smile bhi nahi karta, hain na mam?"

"Haan"

"Aur sadu bhi hai, hain na mam?"

"Haan"

"Aur kisi se theek se baat bhi nahi karta, jaise Angela ko hi tak nahi bola. Hain na mam?"

But this time, Vibha didn't reply. She looked at Parth and he had a smirk.

"Hain na mam?"

Parth repeated Utkarsh's question, but Vibha still didn't reply. Instead she gave him one last glare before pulling the book in front of Utkarsh.

"Utkarsh, focus. Kamini mam is staring at us"

And she herself hid behind her own book. Parth watched her and waited for her to look up, but she didn't. Out of desperation he took out a pen and a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. He reached under the table and grabbed Vibha's hand. She looked up at him in shock and tried to pull back her hand. But he had a firm hold and started stroking her hand. She stopped trying to pull her hand away and timidly looked back at him. Before letting her hand go, he slipped the chit in her hand. He watched as she took the paper and carefully started to open it behind her book.

Sorry

A small smiled started to appear on her lips, but she quickly controlled to stop it. She took her own pen and paper and scribbled something on it before reaching under the table to give it to Parth. Once she had given the note to Parth, she tried to retreat her hand. But Parth wouldn't let go despite her efforts to pull away. Finally, she dug her nails into his skin forcing him to let go.

He exhaled. She was definitely still mad. He carefully opened her note.

Not enough

Parth sighed. It wasn't an easy task to pacify Vibha. He gave her another note.

Penalty kya hai?

Finally, Vibha fully smiled as she read his note. Parth was relieved that she was smiling again, but the mischief in her eyes scared him. If the tales of her school adventures were any indication, then appeasing her would not be an easy task. He watched restlessly as she took her sweet time writing her response before giving it to him. Parth opened the note to find a list. This really wasn't going to be easy. He began reading the list while Vibha impatiently watched.

1. Whenever you can, you will get me bhutta even if you have to steal it

2. You will get bring me chocolate and never ask me to share them

3. You will share everything, even the smallest feelings, with me

4. In a day, you will come to meet me at least one

5. You will smile at least once every day for me, even if it is a small smile (not, I repeat not a smirk)

6. You will let me mess up your hair

7. You will never miss my class

8. You will always save me from rats, mice, cockroaches and anything else that scares me

9. You will do everything in your powers to save me from Kamini mam's scolding

10. And most importantly, gloves or no gloves, you will not let...

He didn't need to read the rest of the last one to know what she was getting at. He knew if she saw the smile that was threatening to come, then it would only add fuel to her fire. So he schooled his features and looked up to find her intently staring at him. Instead of writing a response, he held his fingers to his throat and mouthed "I promise". She broke into a huge grin and he had a small smile in response to finally pacifying her.

She held out her hand to him. He gave her all the chits, except the list that he himself pocketed. He may never admit it, but he liked her this way. He enjoyed her teasing him and her silliness. Most of the time, she was serious, like him. But in rare moments, when she seemed at ease, her nature would change. He imagined she had been exactly like that in her school days.

"Bro, I am hungry"

As Utkarsh's broke the silence, it also broke them out of their haze. Vibha hurriedly returned to the book in front of her and Parth just glared at a confused Utkarsh.

"I don't have anything for you to eat"

"I have a chocolate bar, but let me know if Kamini mam is coming up behind us or watching from behind me."

Parth looked up and saw the Kamini mam was busy with her notes.

"Utkarsh, Kamini mam will catch you. Just eat later"

"Utkarsh, don't listen to him. Itna toh risk banta hai, especially for chocolate"

"See, even Vibha mam agrees. Parth, yaar itna risk toh chalta hai. "

"Mam, aap bhi?"

"Parth, come on. Chocolate ke liye toh Kamini mam ke gussa ka risk to banta hai, hain na Utkarsh"

And Utkarsh nodded his head enthusiastically.

Parth was about to respond, when he looked past Utkarsh and Vibha and spotted that Kamini mam no longer occupied her spot. Parth tried to warn the both of them before it was too late.

"Kamini mam..."

But before Parth could continue, Utkarsh interrupted him.

"Come on, Parth! Aur waise bhi tu ne school mein bhi kuch nahi kiya, kum se kum itna toh karle"

Parth tried to warn them again.

"Kamini mam..."

But this time Vibha interrupted him.

"Parth, come on na. Kyun itna darr rahe ho"

"Haan, yaar. Itna boring maat ho. Toda toh exciting ban. Kamini mam se kya darna"

Parth sighed. It should have been so simple to warn them. But with these two, it became a monumental task. Maybe if he had a flare gun.

"Parth boring nahi hai."

He smiled as Vibha defended him. Apparently, she was the only one allowed to tease him by calling him boring. He decided to save them as much as he could and attempted again to warn them.

"Kamini mam..."

But once again, Utkarsh interrupted.

"Arre, Kamini mam kiya kar lengi"

At this point, there was no use in warning them.

"Gayi bhains paani mein"

So Parth gave up trying to warn them and just leaned back in his chair to watch the inevitable happen before his eyes.

Before Utkarsh could even open the chocolate bar, he heard someone clear their throat from behind. Utkarsh dropped his chocolate bar and Vibha dropped her book out of shock. Both Utkarsh and Vibha slowly looked up at Parth, and both had look nervous wrecks. Utkarsh swallowed before speaking up.

"Parth, were you saying something about Kamini mam?"
