Very nice post Devki and even I was disappointed with Jodha today. I am all for woman's rights and also believe that even rakasa is a woman and she has the right to live respectfully in a society, however, Jodha should have been shown to show some anger towards Salim. It was as if she was hurt more than angry.

Btw, in the movie MEA, they did show that Jodhabai (Durga Khote) had tried to tell Akbar to agree for Salim and Anar's marriage in order to stop a war between father and son. But this happened only after initially she had shown her displeasure to Salim for this alliance.

But that era was different, however much forward thinking, broad minded this show's Jodha was and is...being okay with getting a prospective Rakasa DIL was not just too much, but preposterous and blasphemous to think of, for a blue blood, MEH, who'd been a proud Rajvanshi (and reiterated this fact time and again) and a royal all her life.

The initial reaction should have been of shock and extreme anger for a Rakasa being her son's love...the motherly feelings and submitting to Salim's threatening and and adamant attitude should have come later on.

Makers should have watched MEA, when they thought of were copying the film...there Jodha's reaction was so queenly and majestic...who was a mother too.

The dialogues, "Khuddar Mughalon ki aabru itni sasti nahi, ki ek laundi ke barabar tul jaye.

Humara hindustan koi tumhara dil nahi, ki laundi jiski Malika bane."

This is so wrong in this era, but that time this reaction seemed so very apt and not the reaction of EK's Jodha.

Jodha is acting all goody goody not taking firm stands ever whether against Ruq, Akbar, Salim, anarkali, Murad etc

The real jodha would have given him two- four slaps and warned him to marry man bai else she will get anarkali disappear from face of earth and here she is convincing Akbar to let him marry anarkali

uff now my hopes are on Akbar only to act like a 16th century dad

jodha does not even act like 21st century mom she is alien in her reactions

and from Salim - I want him to act like the crazy lover going all out to get his love

Only then some great drama can ensue

Man Bia is the sore eye here - they could have introduced her later after this all out love warrr

But I guess to make Akbar look like saint she has been introduced
