Taani was in the worst moods imaginable. No exaggeration applied. She was stuck in her best friend's car driving to a party that she didn't want to attend. But it seemed as though her friend, refused to budge. Sharon had pestered Taani till she had finally agreed to attend this party with her.
It wasn't that Taani was the kind of saint like person who followed the whole no parties, no alcohol, no boys' rule. No, in fact Taani could tell you that she had, had her flings here there, had gotten drunk plenty of times, and was quite the merry person at get to gathers. But today, was just one of those days that she wanted to curl up in her room with a nice book and some ice cream. She was feeling more of the staying in and be lazy' thing.
But nevertheless, Taani's luck was not on her side today. Apparently, this was suppose one of the most rocking parties of the year, and it was compulsory for all the living collage going young dudes and ladies to attend this party. Hell, Sharon had even gone to the extent of threatening her that she would grab her by the hair and drag her to the party if necessary.
Could anyone else spell violence'?
Taani's grunts and grumbles of protest were unheard over the loud music that was booming from the speakers of Sharon's car. Sharon insisted on playing pop-rock party songs to set up the mood'.
Let's just say that Taani wanted to stab herself right that moment.
Sharon finally switched off the music player as they pulled into the already full driveway and Taani let out a loud groan. She wanted her distaste to be known to the world.
"Would you stop being a baby about this and just try and enjoy this?" Sharon finally snapped. "Please Taani, it's been so long since we've had some fun. We never get to do this anymore since college started." Sharon pouted cutely trying guilt trip Taani into doing this.
Taani sighed accepting defeat, "Fine! But you owe me!"
Sharon let out a pretty squeal and reached over to give Taani a hug, "I swear you won't regret this." Pulling back from one another, Taani let out a sigh once again, shaking her head adoringly at her friend.
Sharon might sometimes prove to a pain in her ass, but she was her greatest friend as well.
Taani quickly climbed out of the car smoothing down any unrealistic wrinkles from her black fluttery dress, with lace work around her shoulders and neck and also around her waist like a small band. It had a low back and was looking extremely flattering on her petite body. In her hand she held a black satin clutch.
Taani Dress and Bag (Radhs of course! Koi aur kar saktha hain? 😆 😉)
While Sharon was looking the exact opposite from her best friend, wearing a reddish orange sleeveless dress, that had a sweetheart neckline to it. The dress held her tiny waist beautifully but flowed down from there.
Sharon Dress (Raddhi. Loving this dress. Loving her⭐️ <3 )
"And anyway, you might even meet some hot guy at the party and you two can get it on." Sharon teased, winking naughtily at her closest friend.
Taani rolled her eyes at the comment and walked to Sharon, linking their arms together, as they walked towards the loud house.
"How did you get Swayam to go out with you, again?"
"Oh, just my charm." Sharon replied arrogantly, flipping her long brown her over her shoulder.
Swayam was Sharon's boyfriend of two years. Even though, they both attended two different collages, Swayam going to one of the most prestigious colleges of Mumbai, Saint Louis, while Sharon attended Saint Teressa, the rival school of Saint Louis, along with Taani, the two were like the most beautiful couple that Taani had ever come across.
And that was one of the reasons why she was against going to this party. She knew the moment the two love birds met up she was going to be left alone by the bar nursing her loneliness with alcohol and drinks.
But, maybe she would meet up with some hot guy and get it on' as Sharon had put it in.
Arms linked and giggles spurting from their lips the two beauties made their way into the loud house, to be instantly greeted by loud music and the smell of drinks. Making their through the dancing crowd Sharon quickly grabbed her phone from where it was kept in Taani's bag, and called up Swayam to let him know that they had arrived. Within minutes, Swayam found the two girls sitting by the bar, and greeted them enthusiastically, hugging Taani and kissing Sharon. Taani could have sworn she had seen Sharon drool at the t-shirt and jeans clad Swayam.
Swayam's Look (I'm not even gonna say it. Im just gonna say, I love you, Radhs :* ❤️)
The three spent some time around the bar for a few minutes before Sharon and Swayam went off towards the dance floor leaving Taani alone. Taani sighed as she watched the two disappear into the crowd, and turned back towards the guy who was acting like a bartender for the night.
"What would the lovely lady like?" he said flirtingly.
"The lovely lady would like a beer, and for you to get out of her face!" Taani replied biting back at him irritatingly. The guy looked humiliated and shocked for a second, before turning back and getting her requested drink, shrugging. Grabbing her drink, Taani walked outside, trying to find a quiet and deserted area, so that she could regret her loneliness in silence. Finally, finding a completely empty and silent spot, outside by one of the huge balconies, she stepped out and leaned against the ledge.
Taani just stood their staring into space, nursing on her beer, thinking about everything. The sounds of the music could still be heard, but it wasn't as noisy and thunderous as before. In fact, now it seemed more like a soft lullaby.
If lullabies talk about getting drunk, and getting it down, then sure, a lullaby, it is. Taani giggled at her own thoughts, before groaning once more. She knew she was gonna regret coming to this party but now she was starting become sure of the fact.
Taani jumped slightly when she heard the sound of someone clearing their throat, from her left. Whipping around to face them, her eyes connected to a pair to honey browns, smoldering irises. Gasping slightly she jumped back realizing how close she and the mystery man had been standing.
"Wha.. Who.. What?" Taani stammered, dazed by the way his eyes seemed to sparkle and the corner of his lips stretched up in a smug grin.
"Hello to you too." The stranger greeted her, his voice like wind chimes fluttering in the air.
Taani gave the man a once over, raking her eyes over his attire. Clad in a white shirt and blue jeans, just like Swayam had been, but this guy had added a grey leather jacket on him, making him look even more handsome. His hair was ruffled, as if he had been constantly running his hands through it, his face had a Greek god, look to it.
Rey's Look (Again, Raddhi 😆)
Yup, definitely would have a girlfriend. I mean look at that hair, for god's sake! Taani thought.
At the corner of her eyes she saw the stranger checking her out too, and felt the rush of confidence that she had lost the moment her eyes had met his. Clearing her throat and crossing her arms across her chest, she raised an eyebrow as soon as their eyes met again.
"What are you doing here?" Taani asked, trying to sound as though the guy had run over her dog. But that seemed to have not worked as he smiled at her in a friendly manner.
"It was getting loud in there," he said pointing his thumb towards the doors of the balcony, to the area where the party was going on, "It was getting irritating so I came here to get some quite time. But I can see that you are here, so I'll just leave," he made a motion to turn around and walk back into the party when Taani called out for him to stop.
"No, it's okay. I mean we're both not in the partying mood, so we can just hang here," Taani offered, and jumped to add quickly. "If you want that is."
The stranger smiled a little before making his way back towards her, and leaned against the ledge as well, next to her.
Glancing at her, his smile grew wider and he forwarded his right hand towards to shake, "I'm Rey, by the way,"
Taani looked at him before smiling back at him, "Hi. I'm Taani." She grabbed his hand in her to return the gesture.
The moment their hands touched it seemed as though the whole world seemed to fade away slightly. It seemed as though they were only ones in the crowd. The ear splitting music, the bottles bear in their hands didn't seem to exist. The screams and shouts of the residents in the house were unheard of, and it was just the two of them by the balcony.
They snapped out of their dazes and snatched their hands ever, where it seemed to have interlocked between them. Rey ran a hand through his hair once again, as Taani tucked back a loose strand of hair biting her lip as they both looked away from each other at the same time.
Glancing up at once their eyes met once again they both let out breezy chuckles. Leaning back against the ledge they both stared into a distance, lost in their thoughts. A comfortable silence swept around them for a few minutes before Rey spoke up.
"So where do you go to for school?" Rey asked curiously. Because he knew that she had went to Saint Louis, like he did, he wouldn't have missed such a breathtaking girl walking around the campus.
"Saint Teressa," Taani answered his question, and Rey felt a gust of assurance wash over him.
Oh so I am not blind to pretty girls. Good. Thank you God! Rey thought.
"Oh. Yeah, okay," he nodded "Did you come here alone?"
Taani let out a small giggle as though he had said something extremely funny. "No, I came with my best friend, Sharon. She met up with her boyfriend and now I think I lost her,"
Rey grinned slightly, "I do hope that it wasn't my fault you lost her,"
Taani titled her head to a side and smiled prettily, "Don't worry, it wasn't your fault"
But Rey was hoping that it kind of was his fault that she had lost her friend in the crowd. In fact, he had seen his best friend, Swayam walking away from this pretty girl, with Sharon but as he attempted to approach her, he had seen and heard the way she had bitten of the bartenders head when he had tried flirting with her. And right after, she had grabbed her drink off the counter she had disappeared and he had lost sight of her.
Rey told her this story, causing Taani to laugh out loudly, while Rey feigned humiliation and pouted prettily causing Taani to laugh even harder.
Taani finally stopped laughing, and smiled at him, "I'm glad I didn't stay at home, tonight. Or else I would have never met you..." Taani blushed as she realized what she had said, and cursed at herself for coming in too strong.
Rey gazed at her, and said, "It's okay. I know exactly what you mean."
The two stayed at the balcony for longest time just talking about the most random things. They were both shocked to know that neither of them had wanted to come to this party tonight, and were dragged to it by their best friends. Unknowingly, both made mental notes in their heads to thank their friends for forcing them to come. They both got along great, like snow and New York. The two of them were innocently drawn to each other, and didn't want the night to end.
After a while Rey looked back at the party, and sighed, "Well, I think I've lost Swayam," he said and turned back to Taani, grinning widely at her, "And I'm pretty sure that it's your fault,"
Taani blushed at the hidden compliment and just smiled at him.
I think I'm falling in love. Taani thought as she just stared at him, Nop, not falling in love. But I'm pretty sure I'm losing my mind.
It doesn't have to be love, Rey argued with himself, Nop, not love. Just losing my mind. But it might be love... Oh just forget it, Rey!
They stood there for a moment longer before Rey finally grabbed the courage to do what he had been wanting to do the whole night, since he had met her.
"Do you wanna dance, Taani?" He said, offering his hand to her, looking at her expectantly. Taani smiled at him and grabbed his hand as her led her back into the house where a loud drums and base line was playing. Everyone around them were jumping around, dancing wildly and Taani almost expected Rey let her go and start dancing the same way as everyone else.
But Taani was extremely surprised when Rey bought her into the protective circle of his arms and start swaying.
La La La La La
La La La La La
Yeah
La La La La La
La La La La La
Yeah
(La La La La La
La La La La La)
The sounds of everyone shouting happily and singing along to the song were cut off as Rey placed a hand on the small of her back, where the back of her dress ended, leaving her back bare. Taani placed one hand on his shoulder, while the other one was interlocked with his. The touch of his hand on her back didn't seem pervert-like at all, in fact his touch was almost hesitant and soft in a gentlemanly manner.
Taani felt her heart soar at this gesture, and felt that it was impossible to wipe that smile of her face.
Connecting their eyes together, Rey smiled at her softly and said, "I'm you came tonight, stranger girl."
Taani felt her smile grow wider at the cute nickname and said, "Im glad I came tonight as well."
All this cant be in my head. Rey thought, as he gazed at the goddess infront of him. I mean there has to be something here between us. Am I right or am I just imagining this?
Their moment was broken when someone ripped Taani right out of Rey's arms and turned her.
"Hey!" Taani protested, but stopped seeing that it was Sharon.
"Hello to you too. We have to go! It's late! My dad just called!" Sharon wheezed out feeling breathless.
Rey just stared at the scene unfolding in front of him and felt his heart drop hearing that Taani had to leave soon. He didn't want her leave just yet. Taani also turned around and looked back at him, her eyes apologizing. Their gazes were held for a very less time as Taani grabbed by her elbow and was dragged through the crowd as Rey just looked on. His eyes followed her till she disappeared before realizing that they hadn't exchanged numbers or anything that they could contact each other with.
His eyes grew wide and he felt annoyance, disappointment and panic flood through him. He grabbed the roots of his hair and groaned loudly.
Damn it! Damn it, damn it. Damn it! He thought angrily.
Suddenly, his head snapped up as he heard a voice calling out his name. He saw Taani face reappearing through the crowd once again, and grinned happily. Taani ran towards him and flung herself into his arms, gathering him in a hug, as he lifted her off the ground.
Separating herself from him, she grinned at him beautifully, and said, "Im glad that we met today." Placing a small kiss on his cheek she slipped a piece of paper into his hands and walked away, leaving Rey dazed behind her.
He looked down at the piece of paper and unfolded it. Written on it was
"Let's not be alone tonight, stranger boy. Give me a call sometime. - Taani"
And below it was her phone number written with a small heart next to it. Rey felt his grin growing wider, and felt his heart beat faster.
Grabbing his phone from his pocket he quickly typed in her number and sent her a small message.
"We wont be alone tonight, stranger girl. Wanna get some lunch sometime? - Rey"
They both glad that they met one another that night, and were not alone at all.
There. Done. This has been floating around in my head for quite some time and I've finally penned it down. 😊
I love the song "Lets Not Be Alone Tonight" by the band "R5". Infact I love all their songs and I'm crazy obsessed with them. ❤️ *fangirl* They are so freaking amaze and their songs are so catchy that I just had to write something on it. At first I was gonna write on their song "One Last Dance" but decided to go with this. But you never know, if I get enough likes and comments to this one, I might consider writing to "One Last Dance". I'm evil like that. 😈
You all will be happy to know that I've started to write the update to "Fix You" and would try to post it asap. 😃
Like and Comment, lovelies. 😳 😊
