Icons meet Idols

PR
"I studied in a school where I had a lot of Nepali friends. Subsequently I was familiar with Nepali music since then and I believe it's highly soothing. All that I feel bad about is Nepali music lacks exposure in an international level. Nepali musical scenario can change for better if people like Udit Narayan, Prashant Tamang and Nima Rumba will join their hands so as to take the initiative," shared Mayank Chang, one of the Top 5 contestants of Indian Idol 3 at a press conference held at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza on Friday evening. Accompanying Chang at the conference were the other finalists such as Deepali, Ankita, Charu, Emon and our very own Nima Rumba who are to perform at "Icons and Idols", an event organized by Mero Mobile. Anil Singh who didn't appear at the press meet will also be performing with the crew. To the humble request of a few media personnel, Emon and Parleen also hummed a few lines of the popular Hindi songs such as Tanahayee and Dil Ne Tumko Chun Liya Hai respectively. The conference also featured a visual presentation of Prashant Tamang, who is vying for the mega title along with Shilong-born Amit Paul. In his video message Prashant said, "I'm very sorry for I couldn't be there to participate. I would like to thank all the people in Nepal for supporting me throughout. And I assure my people in Nepal that I would put my best to win this competition." Prashant also hummed a few line of Yo Mann Ta Mero Nepali Ho. All the six eliminated participants of this world-wide popular reality show enjoined together, "Life has changed a lot even since we took part in Indian Idol. Apart from name and fame we've gained confidence. We look forward to give our best to entertain the people in Kathmandu too." Talking about the locals' responses, Sarad Upadhyaya, food and beverage manager of Solatee Crowne Plaza quickly added, "Almost all seats for the Sunday evening performance at the hotel are booked. People from Biratnagar have already booked the lodging and tickets for fifteen people in our hotel. The responses are overwhelming."

So, don't forget the time and venue. It's today 4 pm onwards at Pulchowk Engineering Campus ground and tomorrow at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza.
