I like the way how Zakir-Emily track is going on...
Ofcourse the drama element is up now because it is the nature of the universe to have after-effects when a big change takes place.
I don't think this show made fun of sanctity of marriage as Emily was not having any extra-marital affair with Zakir, or even someone else when Mohit dumped her and Pari for so many years.
She remained committed to her relationships with in-laws even if her husband was not around and raised her daughter alone.
Also Zakir respectfully asked for Emily's hand in marriage even though the timing was wrong and the atmosphere was hot.
Rather I am liking the fact that the show is focusing on the progressive thoughts of traditional and less educated in-laws (Bhabho & Bhabasa) thinking about their innocent daughter-in-law more than their own son who is wrong. It is perfectly showcasing their dilemma & inner turmoil whether to get their daughter-in-law married once again, to the person who was once their would be son-in-law...
It could be a big change in thought process of people. Also we have a religion difference factor. It could actually inspire people in real life to stand up for what they think is good for their daughter-in-laws...
Coming to someone loving or marrying Bhabhi (mother-like woman), Zakir was never too close to Mohit or Emily earlier, so Emily being a Bhabhi to Zakir is ruled out.
Zakir's closeness with Rathi family happened due to Sandhya, not Suraj. Zakir is Sandhya's friend So technically we cannot call even Sandhya as Zakir's bhabhi.
In India, we still have cases of younger brother marrying elder brother's widow or even cousins marry in few cultures, all with the agreement of elders.
But when two people are not even closely related (Zakir-Emily here), so it is not right to judge their union based on relationships or social barrier.
Judging the bond between two people and categorizing it in terms of the relations we know is not right. It sometimes also depends on the connection between two minds, hearts or souls...
Zakir and Sandhya are connected through mind.
Zakir is connected to Emily through heart and soul.
When Zakir came to stay in Rathi mansion as Sandhya's friend then why no questions were raised on the relation between Zakir & Sandhya but we all know that their intentions are pure and they are just friends.
But when Zakir confessed to be in love with Emily (who announced to divorce her husband), suddenly he is assumed to be with bad intentions and eyeing his 'Bhabhi'...
Strange!!
Let's think about other way round. What if Emily has abandoned Mohit & Pari years ago and Mohit raised Pari alone. Then Emily comes back to claim her ownership over their lives and insisting to have things her way.
Within this time a female friend of Meena, Chhavi or Sandhya falls in love with Mohit and wishes to accept him the way he is.
Shall we not think about Mohit rejecting Emily and accept the new girl who respected him as he is?
Or we will keep insisting that the new girl is like a 'sister' of Mohit and Mohit-Emily should reunite?
Coming to other characters getting screen space when the show is about Suraj-Sandhya, I don't agree completely.
Suraj-Sandhya are like the Sun in Solar system whereas other characters are planets. A planet which revolves around the sun but also rotates in its own axis.
If the show is only focused on Suraj-Sandhya (22-25 mins of Telecast time everyday), then the individuality and essence of other characters will be lost.
Think about earth stops rotating on its own axis for some time. đ
