Hey everyone! I'm finally here with an update for this story! I got many PMs asking me to update this one and I again am sorry for the delay, but it's been a chaotic few days recently and I couldn't write much. But I finally got time to write today, so here is the update and I hope you all like it. And please do like and leave your feedback!

Chapter 27 Recap

"Do you think we should tell Vandita and Bala about the baby?" He said it all in one go.

Chapter 28

"Raman...what are you saying?"

"Don't get me wrong Ishita. I know that you don't want people knowing and judging. But what I'm trying to say is..."

"Is what Raman? I know you probably won't say this without thinking about me first, but I don't want to tell anyone. I know I've always tried to stay unaffected by people and have done often except for a few times, but I can't go telling people I'm pregnant. It's not only me they will talk about me, but about you as well. You've already heard so many things from people, I don't want you to go through that again and neither do I have it in me to hear people talk about my child or you. I don't want to be told things again or you being hurt again."

"I know we can't be sure of how they will react or what they will say, but who knows, maybe they will be happy for you. Maybe they won't judge you."

"Why Raman? Why do you want to tell them? You clearly thought before speaking so just tell me what's in your mind."

"You know what happened today. See think about what would have happened if I had been at work today. You would have had to watch Ruhi and take care of yourself. Worse you were with Vandita and I'm sure she would have eventually figured it out... Ishita I'm not forcing you to tell, I'm only saying this because I think it would be better if someone knew about your condition, in case of an emergency there will be someone you can go to if you need anything."

"I don't know..."

"See what I was saying is that we both know people are eventually going to find out. Today you were so conscious about your appearance despite not showing or having a bump, but how long will that continue? In a few weeks you will start to show, then people are going to figure it out anyways. So I just thought it would be better to have them know before. But the final decision is yours. We don't need to tell him if you don't want."

"Raman...you're right, but I just...see the thing is..."

"Don't hesitate, tell me what you want."

"You're right about what you said. But it's that you know Bala and Vandita for so long, they're really good friends of yours, but I don't know them all that well. I'm not comfortable enough with them. I think they're nice people and they really seem to like me as well, but this is really persona. I can't trust anyone easily with this news. I am sorry if you feel bad I'm not taking your word about them, but I can't do this. I don't know if I'm ready to tell them."

"It's okay then. And I get what you're saying, so just give them time, get to know then and see what you want to do."

"I'll think about this. And if I ever change my mind, I'll tell you."

"That's fine, just don't feel forced into anything though. And also I needed to tell you tomorrow we are going to the doctor's."

"Why?"

"Ishita last time you went for my satisfaction, just go once more. I have a bad feeling about you being sick, and although the doctor has said it's fine, I still want to go and anyways you were supposed to go next week." She smiled at his unnecessary worries and his concern as she agreed to go with him.

"Now go lay down. You need to be resting." He ordered her again, getting an irritated Ishita in return.

"Raman, I've been stilling here all day! I'm feeling so suffocated!"

"Fine then you can go out until the balcony or living room, your choice."

"Living room, after all I should see how much damage you've done to the kitchen."

"Murugan! Raman, what have you done?!" She face palmed as she looked at the messed up kitchen with bits of vegetables on the dirty floor and the sink full of dishes almost over flowing and pots all over the counters.

"What? It's not that bad, I just had some trouble looking for the right dishes and with some of the chopping. I'll clean it in 10 minutes."

"10 minutes, more like an hour. Gosh I should never let you enter the kitchen, such a mess I have to clean."

"Hey! You're not cleaning anything."

"And you're going to take forever to clean this and might even make a bigger mess than it is already."

"Okay how about this? You sit on the couch with Ruhi and watch her while telling me what to do to clean this up?"

"...Sounds like it won't end disastrously."

She sat down taking Ruhi into her arms making the tired girl fall asleep. As Ruhi cuddled onto her holding her hair, Ishita was worried about what Raman was up to. She told him everything he needed to do and he got to work without a word. He cleared up the counters as she told him where everything goes and then went to go was the dishes.

"Why did this maid have to go home early today...poor Raman." She quietly talked to herself feeling bad for having him do everything while she sat down watching. She looked back at him as he finished with the dishes and as he picked up the broom to sweep the floor, she noticed how he held his back before starting and his face showed pain for a moment.

"Ishita, you're seriously so stupid. He even mentioned how he gets back pain and you still told him to do all this." She bit her nail as she watched him work quietly and as he stopped for a moment due to his back again...

"Um Raman don't sweep the floor, the maid can do it tomorrow."

"But you said it was too dirty."

"It's not that bad, just leave it. It's fine the way it is."

"Alright! So all this is done...finally."

"But now it's time for dinner." She said sheepishly as he had finally sat down on the couch all tired.

"Seriously?!...Anyways now what do we do for dinner?"

"I'll quickly go make something."

"No, I told you no working. I'll cook, just tell me how to."

"It's okay I can do it, anyways the baby's finally done bothering me for the day."

"Don't talk about my child like that Ishita. It's not his or her fault."

"Okay possessive daddy!"

He looked at her with an attempt to be serious, but seeing her trying to hide her smile and act serious as well, he burst out laughing making her laugh in the process as well. He got up smiling to go to kitchen while she insisted on at least making dinner for them when the doorbell rang. Raman opened to the door to Bala who was carrying a dish with him. He came inside greeting them and asked Ishita about her health.

"Raman, Vandita sent dinner for you two."

"There was no need for this."

"Don't lie, we all know you can't cook and Ishita isn't feeling well, so I think you needed this."

"Actually, on second thought we do need this. The kitchen was a mess when Raman attempted lunch."

"Arre Raman! You always tease me about Vandita...here you're already down to cooking in such a short while. I must say Ishita sure knows how to get her way around."

"Shut up Bala, it's called being a gentleman. Anyways even you did this for Vandita when she was..."

He stopped as he realized what he was about to say and looked at Ishita who looking shocked and signalled him a no.

"You did this so many times when Vandita was sick and even when she's not sick."

"Anyways, let's change the topic. You two should eat now and I should get going before Vandita comes here."

He left the placing giving Raman and Ishita both a hug and leaving the two to be. Raman looked her as she sighed out of relief and then got lost in her own thoughts.

"Ishita I honestly forgot! It was just a slip!"

"It's okay, I was just thinking of something else."

"What?"

"Nothing important...leave all that, let's go eat! I'm so hungry!"

Hearing her finally ask for something from him, he didn't ask her much and got her to sit on the table so he could serve dinner to her. After they ate their dinner as he narrated to her what he and Ruhi did all day while she was resting and she told him about all of Ruhi's antics when he away at work.

After dinner, he asked her to go to bed while he would clear up the table and wash their dishes. Though she insisted him not do to so, he didn't budge. So shaking her head at him she took Ruhi to their room while he stayed back.

She sat on the bed after putting Ruhi in her cradle. She smiled thinking about everything Raman had done for her today and thought about how lucky she was to have met him and married him. If he wasn't in her life, today she would have been probably working and trying to deal with all these problems herself, but he was there and he took care of her like very few people could. And she had to only thank Ruhi and their child for bringing them together. She chuckled as she thought about earlier today how he had talked about Ruhi being his biological daughter and taking her side more than his and vice versa. Placing her hand on her stomach...

"My naughty baby, you take your dad's side all the time...but you know it's good. You know about your dad already and you know he loves you a lot. I remember I told you I was going to find the best Papa for you and I did. He loves you so much and he's always worried about you and me. He takes such good care of us and your sister. Today he made sure I was sitting in bed all day, so we would be okay but then he doesn't know that you're the reason I was sick in the first place. You're so mischievous already! You know your Papa has to watch over your sister and us all day because you made me so sick?! And your sister is just like you, except she takes my side! Such an angel!"

Raman stood by the door watching her animated talk to their child as if he or she understood everything. Was this what being a parent truly was? He had the urge and suddenly wanted to go sit next to her, to join and talk to the unborn child. He also wanted to narrate his day and talk about anything to his baby...but how could he? He couldn't just ask her and put her into a spot where she could be forced into doing something she wasn't okay with. He couldn't ask her to share these moments with him due to the fear of rejection which he was faced with last time he wanted something like this, so...

"What's going on? Gossiping to my baby?" He pretended to not hear the first bits of her talk not wanting to make the conversation awkward.

"Raman! When did you come?"

"Just now, heard you talking about Ruhi."

"Oh so you heard the secret talk between mom and baby?"

"Ishita...What do you think? Can he or she really hear us if we talk to it?"

"Maybe..." She noticed an excitement on his face that she had never seen. He looked almost amazed at what she was saying and she noticed him looking at her stomach, so she asked...

"Do you want to try talking?" He looked at her as he had been caught off guard...

"No, I was just asking randomly." He told her not wanting to bother her or make her uncomfortable again by coming closer to her, though he want to talk to the baby like she did...but their relationship wasn't as such where he could happily live those moments he always wanted to.

She saw his disappointment as he brushed off her question, but knew she couldn't ask him further. They weren't in a normal relationship and so despite wanting to, she couldn't openly ask him to come closer to her and spend these moments together with her and their child.

He walked away to change while she was in her own thoughts about thinking of ways to let him to form a bond with this baby like she had with Ruhi and not make things awkward for them in the process. He came back and still found her lost in her own world. He went to Ruhi and pecked her forehead careful not to wake her up and that's when Ishita realized he was back.

With a simple goodnight, she went to bed leaving him confused as to what was going on with her. First she reacted weirdly about canceling her visit, then Mihika's call for her was quite strange and now she was constantly thinking about something, but brushed it off whenever he would ask her or was going to ask her. He went to bed after putting an alarm on for her appointment the next day and fell asleep thinking about what was it that she was hiding from him.

The next morning, they were sitting in the doctor's office waiting for the doctor to speak up. They were both nervous as the doctor seemed to be looking at Ishita's file over and over again. Something seemed to be wrong and this was what they both had feared before coming here. In her nervousness, Ishita held into Ruhi with one arm and held onto Raman with her free hand as she heard the doctor finally speak up...

"Mrs. Bhalla this pregnancy is too dangerous for you. Keeping this pregnancy is harmful for you and will put the child at risk along with you. The baby has slim chances and if you don't abort so do you."

He couldn't understand anything...the city's best doctor was saying this to her. Why was this happening to him again? Why couldn't there be a happy phase in his life? He was right, anyone who was near him and anyone who became Mrs. Bhalla was the most unfortunate woman ever. He couldn't let this happen again. He asked the doctor again if there was another way out. Bur again they were suggested to opt for an abortion...but how could they do that?

This child was the one that brought them together, that was the reason behind their marriage and was just like Ruhi for him. But then...Ishita! He thought about her and it was clear as to what he needed. As much as he wanted his baby he couldn't let this happen to her. She needed to be there with their Ruhi and with him. He knew that baby was important, but not as important as her. He couldn't commit the mistake he had last time. They would need to go with the abortion.

"I'm keeping the baby and taking the chances.

He heard her telling the doctor. What was she doing? How could she put her own life at risk? Didn't she know that Ruhi needed her...that he needed her? He couldn't let her leave him, he couldn't let her do this. He couldn't go through losing a loved one again. He needed her to change her decision...

"What are you thinking...No! No Ishita! I will not let you do this...how did you...why did you decide this..." he was crying and mumbling repeatedly to her in the silence of their room.

"Raman..." she tried to say something to him.

"I won't let you...you can't leave Ruhi...or me...we need you." He cried bitterly.

"I'm not going anywhere Raman!" she tried to explain to him. He was sweating a lot and breathing heavily scaring her as she had never seen him in such a state.

"Raman!" she shook him trying to figure out what was going on.

"Ishita!" He got up with a jerk. He looked at Ishita who had worry and concern written all over her face. He looked at her carefully once again and she seemed to look fine to him and then he got a holding of his surroundings.

"You...you're okay? We're not at...not at the doctor's? You..."

"Raman, the appointment is tomorrow! And why are you so panicked?" she moved closer to him and gently held his shoulder.

"Ishita you're...oh my God!" He put his face into his hands as he realized this was just a nightmare...a horrendous nightmare. But he was still terrified...what if something like this happen and Ishita left him? What if she would chose her child over herself? She was extremely caring and selfless, but he wasn't. He was a selfish man and wanted her to be with him...always. He let out a sob as he couldn't tolerate the thought of once again losing his wife for his child.

Ishita heard his cry and held his shoulders scared what could have possibly happened in the middle of the night and knew it was something in his dream...or nightmare. She tried to get him to tell what he had seen that he was so scared...

"Raman what happened? Was it a nightmare?"

He couldn't answer as he was still shaken by what he had seen in his nightmare and with the thought of losing her having his past repeat once again. She shook him as she was getting anxious seeing his state.

"You're scaring me! What happened?"

"We...I mean you...you were going... to be like her...you chose our baby...but then you...you would go away...and I...I was just sitting there...doing nothing..."

"What are you saying?"

"Ishita please don't ever leave me or Ruhi!"

"I won't!"

"I'm scared! What if you...no what am I saying!"

She saw Ruhi stirring her sleep from the corner of her eyes and asked him to come with her. She took him out to the balcony to get some air and away from Ruhi so her sleep wouldn't be disturbed. She got some water for him and sat with on the patio. The water and air seemed to help him and he was starting to relax as she asked him...

"Now tell me what happened?"

"We were...at the doctor's. You and the baby were...danger and you..." he rambled on not being able to say what the real matter was.

"Wait something was going to happen to me and the baby?"

"You chose the baby! And you were going to..."

She thought for a second and as he repeated his words again, she realized what he was saying. He just had a nightmare about her being the same situation as Shagun and she had made the same choice she had in the past. And today with his worry of something being wrong wasn't help as he was really affected by a nightmare.

How could she tell him it was all okay and she was with him perfectly fine...

"Raman I'm fine! Nothing happened or will happen."

"I was so scared... Ishita...if anything like this ever happens, you'll choose yourself...Promise me please." He grabbed her hands tightly and looked at her with sheer worry and fear on his face.

"Raman..."

"Ishita what will Ruhi and I do without you? Please don't ever leave us..."

She looked at his state, he was fidgeting with his hand wiping his tears and sweat trying to calm down. How could someone be like this? Was it possible to get so much from a marriage which had started off as a compromise and now friendship?

She looked inside at Ruhi sleeping inside and remembered every time the infant had come closer to her and had given her the place of her mother. Though she couldn't speak and tell her anything, she did everything and anything that a daughter would do with her mother. She remembered Raman telling how Ruhi looks happy with her, she falls asleep in her arms instead of anyone else's, and sometimes she even wants to leave her dad's arms to go into hers. How could she ever leave her daughter?

She turned back to Raman looking at his broken state. He had a past that haunted his present...a past he wouldn't ever talk about with anyone and it took him mere weeks to open up to her, pour his heart out to her which he couldn't even do to his own mother. This man trusted her with the deepest of his secrets and feelings, wanted her shoulders to cry on, looked at her whenever he wanted support and did the same for her. He stood up for her without second thoughts in front of others and even his mom, he cared for her, thought about her before any actions, he never judged her once, and now he was scared...scared of losing her. He was a man any woman would love to be with, so how could she leave him...how could she ever leave her husband...

"Raman I know what I am to Ruhi and...to you. I will always choose being Ruhi's mom and your wife over anything else. I love this baby a lot, it has given me so much like this marriage and two very important people in my life...but if I had to choose between being a mother to Ruhi which God has already taken away from her once and a support to you which you need so much right now or giving birth to this child inside of me, I would pick you two no matter how hard to is to even imagine parting with our baby."

Relief was visible on his face and so now she was relieved as well. She realized what she had just said to him and it put her back into her own thoughts. Had she really just said that to him? Had she really just told him that she was willingly to let go of her child to stay with him and Ruhi? She was thinking about everything she had just said when she heard his voice...

"Thank you Ishita!...Thank you so much! I promise I'll take care of you as much as I can so both you and the baby will be okay. I mean it."

"I know you will, I know you love this baby like Ruhi and care for me a lot."

He gave a faint smile at her as he grabbed the glass of water in front of him gulping it all down. He cleared off his face starting to get over what had just happened. It was all so fast and he had hardly been able to comprehend anything. The whole nightmare and his panic while she was concerned for him and now what she had just told him. Was she really willingly to let go of the baby that meant the world for her so she could continue to mother Ruhi and be with him. He was in his own thoughts when she couldn't help, but ask him something that had been in her mind ever since he had talked about not wanting her to leave him...

"But Raman am I seriously that important to you..."

"I could ask you the same. Am I really that important to you..."

thank god that was just a dream, but I am still thinking about the person Ishita was supposed to meet is something we have worry about. I love that you made it a dream because if it was reality it would have been like a typical show, but your story is just amazing to even go in that category. The emotions and the attachments are just amazing. Keep up the good work and continue soon please.

Chalo thank God, it was a dream and Raman fear was visible. Offcourse, he had a bitter past so it was normal for him to react like this. I liked their balcony scene how Ishu consoled him. Precap <3 aww both of them thinking about eachother as why are so important for eachother. <3 continue soon.
