Sallu & SRK at a stage that pit them against each other is Boring:

You are known to take up performance oriented roles but of late, you are seen doing pure mainstream commercial films with the Khans that have had very little scope for you to show your true mettle.

I have done heroine oriented films too, but I will keep doing commercial masala films because it's in my genes and DNA and that's not going to change. I don't care what people say but I love to dance. I have done a song in Brothers too because I simply enjoy doing it. If I am good at dancing and if I look good then what's the harm in it? There is nothing wrong in it and trust me, no matter what actresses say, everyone wants a huge commercial hit in their career.

What are your views on Varun Dhawan and Alia being cast for Shuddhi, a film that Hrithik Roshan and you were supposed to do together after more than a decade?

I think they will do a good job because it's a Karan Johar film and he is a great director. If he has cast Varun and Alia then that's because he strongly believes that they will do justice to the film. Both Varun and Alia are very talented and promising and because it's Karan's film, they will work doubly hard. Yes it's sad that Hrithik and I couldn't come together but I am sure we will soon because the audience is dying to see us together in a film.

What is that one change that you have noticed in Salman Khan over the years?

Well he has grown tremendously as an actor and a superstar and the best part is he doesn't even know or show it or feel it or behave like one. He's the biggest superstar of our country but he doesn't make people around him feel like that. He doesn't throw his weight around. There are no tantrums. He is completely chilled out as a person. That's how I saw him on the sets of Nischay, many years ago when he was my sister Karisma's hero and he is still equally chilled out on the sets of Bajrangi Bhaijaan too. His muscles have become bigger and he is more gorgeous looking today. His fan following has increased because he is our nation's darling. Salman hamesha apne duniya mein mast hai and doesn't bother to publicise anything about what he is doing in life. He's an unaffected superstar. That way he and I are very similar. Even I don't interfere in anybody's work. Both of us believe in doing our own work, go back home and enjoy our respective lives. Rest we leave on God, our destiny and our fans.

After 15 years, it's not rocket science for you to gauge where the film is going and how it is shaping up. What kind of vibes did you get while shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan?

The vibe I got was that it would be the biggest hit of this year irrespective of whether anybody likes it or not and whether people feel it's not an epic film. Yes it's not Jurrasic Park or Jaws but it will be the biggest hit of the year for sure. It has Salman and me coming together after Bodyguard and it has Kabir and Salman coming together after Ek Tha Tiger and it has Nawazuddin and Salman after Kick. There are films when all the dynamics come together and work wonders and I feel BB is that film. I hope people will enjoy the film and walk out of the theatres thoroughly entertained.

Were you shocked or taken aback when Shah Rukh released the first teaser of BB on Twitter and was later retweeted by Aamir too?

Not really because I know they have been friends for the longest time. Just because they don't do films together doesn't mean there is animosity between them. Salman has worked with both SRK and Aamir. I think the reason they both showed such tremendous support is because even they know that it's going to be the biggest hit of the year. Now, they are at a stage that to constantly pit them against each other is very boring.

Did you feel Salman was more serious and responsible towards Bajrangi Bhaijaan because it's his first home production?

Yeah I definitely felt so because he was turning producer after 25 years of being an actor and that too at a stage when he is at the highest peak of his career. There is a certain credibility and reputation he has to live up to. There is such interesting coincidence that when his brother-in-law, Atul Agnihotri turned producer with Bodyguard, I played the lead in it; when his brother Arbaaz turned director with Dabangg 2, I did a special appearance with Fevicol Se in it and when Salman has turned producer, I am his leading lady. So we have a good track record you see.
