Ragini - An alternate perspective

New to this forum. I happened to watch the "Ragni's kidnap" episode just last week. That was the first ever episode of the show I watched. I liked it, hence, started watching the show from the first episode.
I have seen few people calling Ragini a psycho here. My two cents on Ragini:

1. I too have a strong feeling that Ragini is double-crossing Sanskaar.

2. Even if Ragini isn't double-crossing Sanskaar and really wants to marry Lakshya, I don't see any problem. I mean, this girl is introduced to Laksh in the second episode itself. She fell for him immediately. I agree that Laksh has been clarifying everytime that he doesn't love her. But, he has been saying OK to their marriage many a time due to multiple reasons (sometimes bcoz of his Dad, sometimes bcoz of Sanskaar etc). The kind of brought up Ragini had, she can think about no one else. Also, the way in which the entire truth (of Laksh's love for Swara) unfolded, any girl would doubt Swara. Now, when she realised that her sister (Swara) has bluffed her, she is trying to get Laksh's love by her own means. A very important point to remember - Ragini has never been in a relationship or a friendship with a guy before. She has no idea on how to deal with it.

3. I amn't a Laksh-Swara hater, but I think, Swara should have been careful while befriending Laksh. I mean, come on, while I was watching all the episodes, I was clearly able to understand the insecurities of Ragini everytime Laksh and Swara spoke to each other (like Laksh calling only Swara everytime, Laksh and Swara spending more time, Swara staying back with Laksh everytime etc). I wouldn't blame Swara but she should have been more careful. Laksh is not just any random-friend for her. He was having an on-off relationship with her sister.

4. The only person I hold responsible for the entire mess is Laksh, although sometimes it was intentional and sometimes unintentional of him. I respect his feelings that he doesn't like Ragini. But, if you have watched all the episodes, you would realise that he has done this ON-OFF relationship with Ragini for about 7 times. Can you just imagine, the kind of trauma the girl might have gone through. After all, she is a human being and not a "Khilona" that you use/throw her whenever you want, tell her sorry and move on. If I were in Ragini's place, I would have hated Laksh like anything.

welcome first...
and I too don't like ragini being called psycho
but those comments can only be ignored or reported
coming to ur post
1. I don't feel so for now...but once reformed maybe she can...

2. agree...she never been with any guy before...hence I feel that it wasn't love initially but the normal attraction...infatuation...this feeling too make u cry...and yes the way the truth came out was heart wrenching...but she is sensible enough...no doubt she never doubted swara's intentions...she know swara cant betray her...she always appreciates for swara's love for her...but its just frustration of losing laksh to swaa that kept her angry on swara...and its so natural...and we feel she is wrong as winning someone by wrong means is nothing sensible as an excuse to replenish for ur pain...if this is justified then someone killing the murderer of thrir loved ones too is..she can just win laksh's body but not his soul which is with swara...

3. ragini never stayed with boys but swara's personality shows she must have been having male friends too...its so natural of her befriending laksh like this...if someone is in on off relationship with ur sis doesn't mean he can't be ur friend...also swara was way aware of laksh not having feelings for ragini...laksh swara spend more time together as laksh was comfortable with her...ragini goes shy with him which prevented them from connecting well...

4. I feel it was laksh just once behind this...initially...after that he was forced to...he declared her for the first time of him not loving her...but dadi twisted this...again laksh had to break her again started to hope heart...then came sanskar...I feel laksh really didn't had any other choice...but tell me one thing...it was actually sanskar responsible this time...but ragini is now accompanying him knowing he caused her heart break...he used her...just because she is seeing her profit...ragini have nothing against dadi too...so no sense of hating laksh...

Exactly my pov..
Yes I wd say Laksh is the one who is behind all this mess.how could he play with a girls feeling like that(I dnt care what ever his reason was for it...he played with Raginis emotions n that's the truth)...sometyms i feel all these butchering of Raginis chrctr was to make Laksh look gud...
Anyway i am done with the show...will only continue if they show that Ragini is double crossing sanskar.

Exactly!!
I somehow agree with all the 3 points mentioned!
Whatever Lakshya did was wrong although it can be overlooked for the Sanskar's health reason for once...but his not being able to tell the truth in time was disgusting!!
Instead of Swara he should have talked to Ragini about the whole thing.
He was more comfortable with Swara & i.agree but for such a big thing you cannot see the comfort level!
I am really disappointed with the way Ragini's character is shaping up...its unbelievable that this girl has turned soo selfish!
I stopped watching this show already. Makers have soo muchh to show but they have ruined it all.
I would only 'think' of watching this show again once Ragini comes back to her normal self.

According to me, it would have much more sensible and relatable if Ragini does all these things for revenge. She has all the right to be upset with Laksh because he has broken her heart many times, no matter how genuine his reasons are. I do agree that it is tormenting for any girl to be dumped by a guy over and over again. She ought to feel humiliated . Ragini's actions could have been justified if she does all this just to make Laksh realize how if it feels when someone breaks your heart, intentionally or unintentionally. I could also understand Ragini holding grudge towards Swara for giving her false hopes and for trying to hide the truth from her. But, no, she is do all these disgusting things just to win Laksh's love not to take revenge on him. She feels that she has accepted Laksh as her husband ( who has told her million times that he does not love her) She is trying to forcing Laksh into falling in love with her even after knowing that he can never lover her which is unacceptable. Each time I see Ragini now, I feel LIKE " o please, Get a life . " I think CVS should have opted for revenge track rather than obsession track. At least Ragini could have been shown as a girl with self respect

I do agree with all the points that you mentioned, but those justify only Ragini's anger towards SwaLak, not her obsession for Laksh's love. And especially since her own Dadi-ma (the one responsible for her upbringing) told her vehemently to move on. I don't see why her "upbringing" should come in the way of her getting over Laksh. Surely she was never taught to get her way by hook or by crook.

touche! thats exactly what my opinion is. all those things about Laksh hurting her and all, well she doesn't really care about that, she just wants him. if she was the proverbial tissue paper to laksh then he's no more than a doll to her. i am totally ok with her giving laksh and swara a piece of her mind and even taking revenge against laksh. but the only person she's taking revenge against is swara who did bare an unfair amount of the punishment in all this (lets put aside that she's a sadist just like all tvlandian leads). yes she loved laksh but still did all in her power for ragini's happiness, was never going to tell laksh anything ever, didn't even dare admit her feelings to herself till ragini encouraged vehemently. so why hate for the sister who loves her so and love for guy who is indifferent.

PS putting aside all the other contextual facts we've been shown that make Laksh's actions justifiable.

Bold: Its her ego. She thinks she 'lost' to Swara. 😆

thats it isn't it? I've also played around with the inferiority complex theory. it makes swara become a Gadodia pleaser and Ragini a hater. i really don't think she loves laksh. they've barely interacted through whats been so eloquently put as their on-off 'relationship' (i distinguish between a prospect and a relationship, relationship is a ship of emotions built over time). but it always comes back to the same vanity the cvs seem to be characterizing marwari women with in the serial- a holier than thou sense of entitlement. its demeaning on so many levels.

Come to think of it, the show projects the Marwari community in a very negative light. The hateful Dadi, ferociously uptight and prejudiced DPM, doormat Maheswari women including confused Annapurna, scheming Uttara, vengeful Sankskar and delusional Ragini. Not to forget the spineless Shekhar. Lakshya seems to be the only one exempted from the black-brushing.
To contrast with this picture, the Bengalis in the show are: liberal-minded, witty, sensible Dida. Strong, independant Sharmistha. Mature, sensible and chilled-out Swara. (not counting their flaws, of course)
