I know theres a lot of confusion regarding many things in the serial, and regarding the characters from yesterday's SL. But heres my take on the ongoing. We saw many good SLs pass by at the blink of an eye in this serial, many of us are frightened about the speed of the swarya SL, many of us feel theres nothing in the swarya story post marriage, many are scared of what will happen with ragini in her crazed state, whether DP is genuine...etc etc. But yesterday's epi for me was actually wonderful and finally some movement in an otherwise lethargic story, where the good things pass at light speed but the drama takes ages to resolve, primarily because the cvs get confused as soon as they create the drama. So lets talk about the turning point of the story-
DP's acceptance: Heres a man whose decisions have never been, according to him, wrong. He prides himself on being just and right, within the parameters of what he thinks is right. Laksh had asked Swara once- don't you hate my dad? and she'd replied- why would i hate him, he was doing what he thought was right and we were doing what we thought was right. everybody has their own parameters of whats right. Her little pearl of wisdom to Laksh came full circle today, Swara managed to do what noone else had ever done for DP, she expanded his parameters of whats right and wrong. We've had the debate of a double standard on DP's part regarding Sanskaar and Laksh. Heres the answer- its all circumstances, ironically created by Sanskaar that got swarya the approval. Sanskaar and Girl were just as unacceptable to DP as Swarya were, but the crucial difference was SnackyG (couple name henceforth) decided to break away from DP's parameter and live outside it and thus faced rejection. Its not a matter of right or wrong, its just for them the priority was being together and handling the fam later, thus DP just ignored the girl's good qualities and disappointed, let Sanskaar (his prodigal son) go. But what Swara did was totally different, she and Laksh stayed within DP's parameters, swara knowing Laksh's weakness for her didn't allow her feelings to cloud his love and respect for his family and neither did she allow DP's demand for separation, stop her from doing right by her love. Her persistent trust showed DP that he's not wrong, but theres a whole world of right outside his perimeter too. Sometimes you have to level with a person first, in order for them to see the error of their ways. Thats exactly what she did. Sanskaar eloping was an indirect slap on DP's face that he was wrong and thus his own flesh and blood rejected his ways, Swarya's acceptance of DP's ways showed him that he may be right but they're not wrong either. And thats a world of difference in approaches, thats why they got approval.
Now coming to his motives, the only visible one would be exposing Sanskaar. But really is this the ONLY way? For a man as proud as DP to quit his post of samaj adhyaksh and accept a bengalan girl is a huge leap, i just don't think he'd do that unless there was literally no other way to expose sanakaar. On top of that, would he really play such a hard game with his son's feelings? He has no reason to think Laksh would break his promise or that Swara would compel him to break his promise. DP also has no reason to be vindictive towards Swara, he has nothing to gain from all this other than alienating Laksh. So why? so that he can break Laksh and Swara's bond? why? well i thought maybe so that Laksh will marry someone else? But then he could've just asked Laksh, breaking swarya means Laksh will not be happy either ways, so why play with Swara's life, especially now that he genuinely owes Swara one? Thus I don't think theres any bad motive here. Infact, DP's been on a path to redemption for as long as Laksh has been in love with Swara. There were somethings he said yesterday, that really struck a chord especially because he declared it infront of his samaj- Swara hi iss ghar ki bahu banegi- Swara Lakshya Maheshwari banegi AND iss ghar ke bhagya khul jayenge Swara jaisi bahu pakar. DP is a man of his words, thats a big commitment to make if he doesn't plan on fulfilling it. On top of that, he seemed genuinely confident on Laksh's choice and even proud of Laksh for having chosen a person like Swara in his life- jo tere dukh mein tere saath khari rahi use teri zindagi ki khushi se kaise vanchit rakh sakhti hoon main. Thus i do believe what he said yesterday was genuine. having said that, its a serial and you never know, they can turn swara negative tmrw, so nothing is a 100%.
Now lets talk consequences- Swarya marriage may happen but the smoothness of the track does worry me a bit but even if it doesn't happen, I'm still happy for now and i'll quit the show if theres a dhakianusi bride swap plot to create unnecessary drama nonsense but yesterday put me strangely at ease. another reason for that was the breaking of Ragini, it has started. she needs to break into pieces before reassembling herself and starting her own story. one of her banking chips of reassurance that she'll succeed in breaking swarya was Laksh's marwadi family more likely to accept her than Swara the halfbreed but because of her ploys that banking chip just cashed into Swara's account. the fact that not only Laksh but even the most dheet marwari like DP got compelled to accept Swara due to her nature really had a strong impact on her, it'll drive her crazier but gradually to the point where she'll be forced to face the truth. Lastly, to those who say Swarya ends after marriage, dude its an RS serial- usually theres no story before marriage, they all start afterwards. lets be grateful for what we got before marriage and after swarya marriage is where the story starts, this isn't a romance like kasautii where the main objective is to break and milaap a couple for eternity till they're 90 years old. its about swara and ragini tying the rishton ki sur, it'll only start after swarya marriage!
yesterday everybody else was meh, but DP was fantastic! everything about ganju was great, his acting didn't step into overacting territories, his dialogues were on-point, his equation will Laksh and Swara was great. Just perf. and the most wonderful reason as to why yesterday was wonderful- very minimal amount of the episode was the "Swara and her insipid little sister" show yesterday. they finally gave the limelight elsewhere and IT ROCKED! now lets wait and watch where this goes folks!
