What's Sonakshi role in IIJS 2 ?

I don't think a film actress will come to be a host of this show.

I think she's just there to take up the 10 minutes at the end of every episode. Nothing more than that.

In press conf. She said she will be sort of like a 4th judge. But more than technicallities, she will represent a common man. So her response would from aam janta type of view. So nothing like "aapka sur yaha hila tha."

It's for the trp sake. Sony think they will get more viewers if Sonakshi comes to the show to entertain🤢

Apparently, she will replace Shalmali from the gala rounds. And though they maintain that she will be representing aam janta, I honestly don't know whether she will score them or not. Though I like Sonakshi as a person, I would love to have Shreya Ghoshal back a third singing judge--Or Shekhar for that matter. I hope they make at least guest appearance this season.
