Lack of Originality

Don't you guys feel that CID stories are losing originality? First the writers started copying stories from Bollywood movies. Now they have started copying from foreign shows as well. I see everyone getting excited over the last episode ("Daya's Abduction") but in reality the plot was copied from CSI Season 5 two part finale "Grave Danger". This is truly sad. This show has lasted over 10 years and it is reduced to this sad end.

I feel B.P. Singh should get rid of his writing team and hire some fresh ones. 😊

Yeah, you're right...they have been copying a lot lately. And its not just being inspired...its complete scene lifts. I think they should start having contests where viewers can send in stories, and they can choose the best ones for the show. I'm sure people would be willing to send in entries even if all they win is their name appearing on the show. I would definitely send in a couple.

The writing team has been writing for 10 years and if they feel some idea, plot or story from a film, show or fiction is good enough to be incorporated, I don't see anything wrong in that. "Daya in danger" was definitely a good episode, no matter whatever the argument.

Most of the stuff that you see on CID is ORIGINAL.

Well the stories/cases are getting a bit repetitive but we do have to keep in mind that this show has been successfully running for 10-11 years and it's hard to come up with new stories.

I would love to see some new things but until then, we will have to see mixture of old episodes or movie copies.

Special Squad was a brand new show. It took some ideas from shows like CSI but it was an excellent show no doubt. Sad that it died a premature death. You have to keep in mind that CID is more than 10 years old. It was also excellent when it started all those years ago. Ten years is a long time. They are quickly running out of ideas. The old format, which was fresh and interesting a decade ago, is no longer attractive. Now it has become stale which is understandable though sad. That's why it needs fresh writers. 😊 With a new writing team and new directors the show can be given a second life. I like the idea of viewers sending in ideas. Feedback is always good. The creatives need to know what the audience wants. 😃

u r right, lately the episodes r copied. but to think of it, how many people have seen the original english series of CSI . I dont know if it is aired in India. further we would enjoy these different storylines even if they r copied as they r in hindi and also the actors r known to us. I am happy with the latest episodes and want CID team to continue giving good episodes even if it is copied.
