I just can't help myself but I have to say this in defense of women actually...
...ask me how I relate to Sam and this is what I will tell you...
Sam thinking of Arjun; she associates him with heartbreak, her heartbreak. She regrets putting herself through this pain, for so easily falling in love with him.
Sam is now afraid of love itself. She is afraid of losing who SHE is, in love, of being consumed by another. And ultimately, she chooses to run away from love and allow her fear to win.
Neil is her glimpse of what it's like to be completely surrounded by and supported by love. It doesn't engulf her, it lifts her up. It elevates. It strengthens. It is a portal for joy and spiritual enlightenment.
Even though Sam is standing strong, she is deeply saddened, but she knows she did the right thing by standing up for her self-respect.
Who is Samaira Khanna?
She is intense. She is passionate. She feels deeply. She hurts and she gets scared. She feels insecure sometimes and is a pillar of strength at other times. She has moments of weakness. She has moments of vulnerability. She loves so deeply. She is a complete woman and she deserves to be loved completely. She deserves love, respect, and reciprocity, AS DO WE ALL. She deserves to be in a holistic, loving relationship where responsibility is embraced, not avoided. Where love is embraced, not feared!
Samaira Khanna is a powerful woman, and it takes a strong man to be with her.
On a personal note please do tell me:
Is falling in love relegated to a deadline?
Is there a "time frame" in which someone can fall in love? No way! Love just happens! You can't help when you fall in love...or who you fall in love with...in the same way you can't make someone love you back.
I love how everyone is overlooking one "important" factor, considering the majority here, are girls, who seem to have an opinion on any females character...
So just because Sam is a modern independent woman, how does that make her any different from a small town sanskaari type girl?
Any girl letting any man so close within her personal space is not going to get over that intimacy, handing a part of yourself that you have secretly held so close, over to someone is a big thing. And you are nowhere near getting over the betrayal he caused you.
Im sorry! But I hate anyone invading my personal space, and if I'm gonna let you in, then it's gotta be for a damn good reason.
On a side note:
Just because Arjun and Sam have not had sex, does not mean intimacy was not shared between them. And whoever denies that, then I don't know what you have been watching.
