9xe.com was the first to tell you that Gauri Shinde is making yet another woman-centric drama and is in advanced talks with Katrina Kaif for the starring role (English Vinglish director knocks on Katrina's door, June 10).

But for all you Kat fans, there's bad news. We hear, the actress is out of the picture.

Who will be stepping into her shoes?

Before you give your choices, let us tell you that the English Vinglish director already has someone in mind. Yes, Alia Bhatt it is.

So the story goes that the film, which was to start this monsoon, has been delayed as Gauri's slip-disc problem has aggravated.

A source told 9xe.com, "Instead of Kat, she has approached Alia, who initially said no as she didn't have any dates. But now the film will start only by December since Gauri has been advised complete bed rest. So now, Alia is trying to squeeze in sometime during that stretch. Considering her equation with Gauri, it's quite likely she'll agree to do the film."

And guess who's producing the film - Karan Johar. The source added, "He's loved the script and only recently green-lit it."

We sent a message to Karan but he chose not to respond.

i'm one of Alia's BIGGEST fans but I pray to God this isn't true. Alia is damn talented and she can get films without KJo. I wish she stopped relying on him to bag films and I hope Gauri Shinde, who made such a stunning debut, doesn't fall prey to such arm-twisting and sticks to her vision!!!!

Although Katrina is no actress but it is unfair. Aloo is getting movies served to her on a platter.

but why Alia? She is there in almost every film 😕

So Shuddhi will be finished by December? Or she's planning to squeeze this film somewhere in between?

And since when did Aloo baby have an "equation" with Gauri Shinde?

Sounds interesting and Gauri's a great director. But i'm getting worried with the amount of Dharma films Alia is doing. Just too many and they're coming one after another. Image wise it's not good, makes her look like she's not talented enough to get outside productions to offer films

I dunno whether I should feel happy that Katty wont be in this film...or with Alia in yet another film. I think in next couple of years every week we will have a Alia film releasing apart from holidays which will have Khans.

Btw I dunno how much to trust this site...all drama happening in one place apparently.
