Dear NLites,

Here is my treat back to you all this week. Ofcourse, the kind of effort each of you put in every week and present to us is a MAJOR treat, and in front of this is a insignificantly minute treat. But please accept it in all your generosity.

Ramya, please bear with for not following the rules of the game J

My scene on the scenes of the week ;-)

Best scene of the week: When Rawatji gets his soldiers to stop Pratap and the soldiers unhesitatingly put the talwar right on Pratap! "I am Chundavat" - true indeed! Jai Ho Rawatji! What a spirit and what a commitment! And amazing commitment and dediation by those soldiers too. They listened to Rawatji before Pratap.

Lovely scene of the week: When Pratap takes the Vijay tilak from Ajabde's sindoor

Sicko scene of the week: Ajabde standing at the tunnel entrance and protesting, finally getting Pratap and party to escape.

Hilarious scene of the week: When Jaimal calls his wife "Rani saa" while it should be "beti saa"

Stupidest scene of the week: Pratap happily going on horse right on the main road, when the fort is on siege on all sides. Is he going on war or going to attack secretly?

Cool scene of the week: Patta's arrival. Yayyay!

My dialogue on the dialogues of the week ;-)

Best dialogue of the week: "Aap dariye math. Hum hai na aapke saath" - Amar Singh to JM

Worst dialogue of the week: "Hum be apna patni dharm nibha rahe hain. Kyun ki har nirnai mein un ka saath dena humara dharm hai" - I had to stop puking. Sorry guys for being so vocal about it. I just couldn't help it. This dialogue is so misplaced in the context.

Most sicko dialogue of the week: "My heart tells me that the outcome will be good" Ajabde to Rawatji when protesting against his protest. My question to Ajabde is when the bomb exploded she is praying instead of saying "my heart tells that it is a good outcome". Grrr -one has to use the rational faculty given by God first, no point doing stupid things and keep praying to God.

Best response of the week: "My heart tells me that I should protect Pratap" - Rawatji to Ajabde. What a response. Good shot Rawatji!

Characters of the week:

Veer putra/ Veer putri of the week: Amar Singh. He had the tevar to say it to JM who was shivering.

Sensible character of the week: Rawatji (to a larget extent). Though I didn't like the goof when he agreed with Ajabde's faith afte Ajabde's faith dialogue. And later when he cried looking at the red raksha cloth tied on Pratap's hand. If Pratap had been burnt so would the cloth. I was like thank God, when Ajabde showed sense pointing out the same. Clearly shows that when one is overcome with emotion, rational fails miserably. Ajabde too was not rational here, she was only clinging on to hope then. When things go out of control - that is when one needs to be in total control of oneself, to think sensibly and decide the right course of action. Please learn Team Pratap - many of you are an emotional bunch.

Buddhu of the week: Akbar. YaAllah! Inspite of so many lessons on the range of the canons, he still could not judge the range when attacking Pratap. And Pratap's disguise is amazing, just a white cloth around could disguise him I believe!!!!!

Irritating character of the week: Ajabde, followed by Kalla (even Kalla seem bearable in front of her stupidity). Ofcourse, Pratap's overreaction for his mission impossible (Pratap seem over acting to me these days while he could render the same dialogue not that stressed). By now, we are used to JM (irritating character of yesteryears) and we will miss him if he is otherwise - so I have not included him here!!

OMG of the week:

Oh no' time of the week: When Rawatji says to Ajabde "If you are saying, I will accept. I have faith in your faith." (when he concedes to Pratap going, rather after he goes!)

Oh yes' time of the week: Patta has arrived atlast!

Best acting of the week: Rawatji

Darling of the week: Rawatji

Picture of the week: Sword on Pratap's neck by his own soldiers

"How I wish" of the week: If they had to show Pratap going out on a mission, atleast they could have shown him going out to thwart Akbar's plans. Getting those guys building stuff for Akbar to go against him instead and get those construction-walas itself to bring down the structure etc. etc. These would have still been a refreshing reel story.

"Hope" from the week: Pratap unable to enter the fort back and have to retire to Kumbalgarh. We will be saved off more trash then.

Most patient girl of the week: Kaana. I have not yet broken the head of the CVs.

Summary of the week:

US still going and going to Gogunda. DB still delaying and delaying giving reasons. Chand still wearing and wearing all those heavy jewellery (one faint is not enough!). JM still fearing and fearing and getting slapped. Amar Singh - has rolled up his tail for a change. So the party continues their journey, and continues to leave the trail as smartly as ever!

Ajabde the intelligent gives the sword to Pratap on his most stupid endeavor. Jaimal stops later relents, but ensure he joins in to be a shield for Pratap. Patta, pata nai who kaise aaya. Patta comes on time to join Pratap on his famous expedition. A true friend indeed!

Rawatji tries to stop Pratap. He would have put him in cell. But Ajabde the dharm -patni saved him to send him to death instead. She fights for Pratap giving the most illogical reason that the wife has to support the husband in all his deeds (so if Pratap goes to bed with someone, I suppose she will make the bed for him! Grrr!!!!). What a misinterpretation of this dharma - first she has to get him on the right path, whereas our patni jaan sees his path as the right path! Anyway, one good thing she did is to save the tunnel. I was worried how Pratap and Ajabde will escape tomorrow if the tunnel is blown up!!! Rawatji lost his brains for a moment, but I do not hold him against that. The effect of the madness of others, poor guy!

Now Pratap and party are on their intelligent secret mission. Oops, sorry, did I say secret mission? Well, it is an open mission under the moonlight on the royal path from the Chittor palace to Akbar's temporary palace. And right on their horses and as a group. BTW, someone already knew and kept the horses ready. And, others should not have seen them coming, how is it their mistake if Akbar saw them?!! Or maybe it is the CVs mistake, as they seemed to have forgotten that it is an open secret mission - and so they should have put Akbar and all his men to sleep then for Pratap to come. Just a script error guys, chod dho! Do not hold it against the CVs!!!!

And Akbar's telepathic skill is revealed. He saw Pratap coming, and lo! Pratap was indeed coming right in front of his eyes, in the line of fire. What clarity of vision and what clarity in Pratap's route!!!!! Kalla couldn't tolerate Akbar abusing Pratap and tried to attack him, but he could tolerate Akbar blowing up Pratap. He stood silent for a change!!!! Anyways, Akbar continues to waste his nukes this week also.

Akbar wants proof of Pratap's death, so that he can sleep peacefully atleast that night. But lo! he still seem to have got a peaceful night with his other him' appreciating him for once. We could see how desperate he had been all these days to get his own pat. But poor fellow, he is not destined to have even one peaceful night's sleep, the punka stopped and he woke up. Thanks to Kalla, who instead of fanning Akbar started fanning his own desire to kill him. And he missed the timing in that process, as the punka had to correctly stop by the time he enters Akbar's outer chambers. Now Akbar is suspicious about Kalla (I am not sure how Akbar knew Kalla is on the job - definitely a king is not going to keep track of this. Secondly, just because he is not there does not mean he is going to kill him, he could have even gone to pee, poor fellow. Anway revelation of yet another skill of Akbar - sixth sense!). Now the Akbar pretending to sleep is ready with a dagger and our Kalla, who could not come barefoot in front of a Mughal, got royally caught. He was thrown down by Akbar (for a change Akbar was shown a bit from history, instead of falling down instead!!). After a brave fight with all the soldiers that Akbar called out to, Kalla gets caught. I could see that Akbar was impressed with his fighting skills, now he will start worrying every night about the Rajput's abilities. Oh no! And on the other side Pratap seeing that they have won the suspicion of Akbar and the kind of security at the campsite, parrots his famous dialogue, asking his friends to leave so that nothing happens to them. Patta, too parrots that he will not leave Pratap's side. Jaimal had to keep reminding that Pratap's safety is same as Mewar's safety. Somehow, it does not seem to register his head though. So, they all proceed towards Akbar's khema. And the Shoorveer, Veer putra Pratap, to the background score (how I wished they did not play this score for such a scene), attacks the Mughal soldiers in the dead of night, coming from behind. Maharana would have turned in his grave (sorry, he was cremated. So maybe his statue at Chittor would have turned few inches by now). Pratap throws a spear at a poor fellow who was half bent and was about to fall any moment! and he falls down relieved of his scene. Soon they were all caught and open fight commences. Finally Pratap ends up outside Akbar's khema and sees that Khalla is in danger.

At the fort, all but Ajabde send Pratap and team to heaven, with the neat red scarf unburnt in anyway as the proof. Ajabde then desperately points to the diya saying its still glowing and it indicates that Pratap is alive. Thank God for such dutiful maids who keep up the diya pouring oil liberally. Anyways, omens of women and laments of me. It was all this there. And Rawatji decides on saakha the next morning.

In the forest, where bhoots and bhootni live now, as usual stupid dialogues by JM and irritated all at him. Akbar's soldiers come right to the dilapidated fort where US and party have camped for the night. After a worried discussion of whether the bhoot is that run down fort, they decide that bhootni (someone) is there and try to move further in. US stands with his sword drawn in. And for a big change, Amar prayed silently instead of jumping in front of those soldiers sword drawn. Boy, you are maturing up! When your parents are goofing up!!

Biggest distortion of history in the week: Pratap planning to jump into Akbar's khema and kill him. And these true Rajput's values shown highly compromised! My blood boils - that's my least reaction. The reel history too is so stupid to believe. And making the brave Rajputs look unnerved (and Pratap hence deciding to avoid the war it seems! - siccckkkooo).

Rating of the week: 9 / 10!!!! For being extra liberal with irrational scenes and dialgues, distorting the history to the max. If only they could have shown Pratap a little more stupid, the CVs would have walked away with a 10/10 this week. Just missed guys! Better luck next time.

History notes for the week:

Once Maharana Pratap through his Bhil spy got to know that Raja Man Singh along with few hundred soldier is hunting in the jungle. It was very easy for Maharana Pratap to defeat Man Singh here in the jungle when he was out on a hunting spree with only few soldiers. However, Maharana Pratap straight away refused any attacks on Man Singh, and said he shall handle Man Singh in the battlefield rather than back stabbing him.

(having read this, you may want to go back to our show now or rather, never go back to the show!!!)

Captain Ramya: I am not as smart as your team captain, so my selection may not be precise. By now you all would have known my worth - just could not pick one, instead dashed it out as scenes of the week in varied context - heheheh.

Hope you all enjoyed your treat J. You are allowed to only say "yes, yes" ;-)

Even if not for anything, give me a pat for the fact that I braved to sit through this week's all shows end to end (which I have been avoiding for a couple of weeks now) - I even did a night out watching this, only because I wanted to do this NL. See what I have subjected myself to! So now cheer me up J

Have an awesome weekend!

And how did you manage a whole day without electricity and water... It would have been hard. But it's raining well at Mumbai, that's good. Did you do a rain dance or not?
