My Box Office Predictions for Dil Dhadakne Do

DIL DHADAKNE DO is one of the biggest films of 2015. After all, it has a mammoth star cast, comprising of Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma,Shefali Shah, and others! Also, director Zoya Akhtar's last film ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA hit the jackpot at the box office and with the critics. Her film before that, LUCK BY CHANCE, was also well-appreciated, although it didn't perform well at the box office.

For opening day collection, DIL DHADAKNE DO will be targeting the 15.30 crore collection of DON 2, as that is currently the highest opener that had little to none mass appeal (it was a multiplex film just like DIL DHADAKNE DO). DIL DHADAKNE DO will likely beat this figure of DON 2. The opening day collection will be similar to another Ranveer-Priyanka starrer from the past, GUNDAY.

The lifetime collections of DIL DHADAKNE DO will be targeting (and will beat) the lifetime collections of films like JAB TAK HAI JAAN and BARFI, which didn't have much mass appeal (similar to DIL DHADAKNE DO). These were all basically completely multiplex films.

DIL DHADAKNE DO will enjoy a strong WOM (Word of Mouth) amongst the urban audience in India (multiplex audience, audience in metros, bigger cities, etc) much like Zoya Akhtar's last directorial venture ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA.

The film will face competition in the coming weeks, with HUMHARI ADHURI KAHAANI releasing in a week and then ABCD 2 releasing the week after. Nontheless, DIL DHADAKNE DO will prove to be a solid grosser at the box office.

Aamir Khan has said that the film will be the biggest hit of the year. That will not be the case, but Aamir obviously has a good understanding of what the audience likes given the major Blockbusters he has starred in, so in saying that DIL DHADAKNE DO will be the biggest hit of the year, he won't be completely far off. Last year, he predicted that HEROPANTI will work with the youth, and that film turned out to be a box office success.

Opening Day: 15.50 crores net

Opening Weekend: 50 crores net

Lifetime Collections: 130+ crores net

Overall Box Office Verdict: Super Hit

As for my feelings about this film? Well, personally, I don't have much interest in the film. Seems like a film with a bunch of show-off actors/director who are acting as if they are delivering the biggest Blockbuster Bollywood has ever seen, even though it's not going to be...no disrespect to anyone involved with the film though. Farhan Akhtar seems the most genuine and suitable type guy for this kind of urban film out of the star cast.

Agree with most parts but we have to consider to Don 2 had SRK and was a sequel to successful film. DDD doesn't have that big superstar in the cast but nevertheless i think a double- digit opening can be expected
