"But sometimes, even a smart woman can have her guilty pleasure moment."

- Nina Ardianti

It's a fact universally known that a forbidden fruit is much more delicious to savour than an ordinary fruit. And we've all indulged ourselves in it. No, don't deny it! You've done it (and so have we ☺️)

The forbidden fruit discussed here is in the form of Guilty Pleasure. The definition is known by almost everyone reading this but we'll elaborate on it just in case. Mr. (Or Miss actually) Google says that a guilty pleasure is something a person heartily enjoys and takes pleasure from it but experiences a little element of guilt from that enjoyment. From embarrassing taste in music to cheat day in a diet schedule, we've all been there and done that!

So why do people indulge themselves in an activity that they associate guilt with?

Sounds contradicting, doesn't it?

Research shows that guilt increases pleasure. In other words, the temptation is almost uncontrollable partly because we know something is bad for us (or that we'll feel guilt after doing so). Let's take an example from our childhood - when your mum said you're not allowed to do certain things, what did you do? That's right! You went right ahead and did exactly the same thing. Why? Because you were forbidden from it. That analogy can be applied in any other scenario. When something is bad for you, you are more tempted and likely to do it than something that's good for you!

This month, Crazy Creatives brings to you ten most commonly known guilty pleasures! Read on to find out and don't forget to let us know what your guilty pleasure is ☺️

We think by now you've recollected your own guilty pleasure(s). Let us now explore some of the common guilty pleasures so that you experience your love for whatever fetish you have intensely. Yep, we're sincerely evil!

When Men Watch Soap Operas:

It's not always housewives and grandmothers who love watching soap operas. Deep down men love these soaps too and they're embarrassed to show that to everyone as it is somehow supposed to violate their masculinity. Did your boyfriend ever hurry home and didn't tell you any specific reason for that? You can guess it now.

Overspending on Fashion, Nail Extensions, Hair Color etc:

Being fashionable can make you overly conscious about fashion and the latest trends. Your nails are soft so you need fake ones? The girl in college dyed her hair purple and you would love to do that too? You're running out of money but you still did those things, right? And when your parents asked you about your expenses you felt guilty but then you looked at your pretty fake nails and in your heart, you smiled? We get it.

Listening to Teen Pop:

Listening to (former) teen pop sensations like Miley Cyrus makes listeners feel guilty about it as it would appear to be childish and immature in front of others. It's one good guilty pleasure to have though. It could look juvenile but music is an outright blessing to mankind, isn't it?

Overeating:
There are two kinds of foodies. One, who are not afraid to show their love for food. Two, those who would love to have another meal post lunch and then two before dinner. But they're uncomfortable to do it, so are their stomachs even though food pretty much rocks their world.

Browsing Po**ography:

Have you seen people doing last minute work before they allow you to use their PC? The last minute work could very possibly be deleting their browsing history so that they wouldn't get caught watching something which would give other the impression that they are pervs.

Reading Dirty Romance Novels:

How many of you have read Fifty Shades of Grey and would love to read similar novels again? Well, need we add more?

Eavesdropping on Other People's Conversations in a Cafe:

Going to a cafe with your favorite novel and music but what interests you more is other people's, absolute strangers' conversations? Thriving on natural curiosity, getting new stories, ones that aren't boring and ahem, your own? Good stuff.

Regifting:

Don't like a gift? Repack it and send it to someone else and get something different or not. Even though this is kinda rude, what would you do with that ugly China set anyway?

Posting Everything About Your Day on Facebook/Twitter:

Motion was weird today, maybe the flu got to you? Tweet it. Went to the mall that is two blocks away from school? Upload these memorable outing's photos on Facebook STAT? Cooked inedible Pasta? Hashtag it with love and insta it, bro. It's okay, we are trying to understand you, we are.

Reading Relationship Advise Online:

Whether you are in a relationship or not, articles with taglines such as 10 Reasons Why He's Your Soulmate and 3646575 Basis on Which a Man and Woman Differ in How They Love attract you. And you read them from the first word to the very last. Feel ya, brah, it's okay. Gather knowledge!

That, friends, is a standard list. We would like for you to join us now and give your own two cents. And remember, this thread is for now, the only place where you can wear your guilty pleasure like a badge. Out of here? Maybe not!

Oh yeah the guilty pleasures...reading trashy romance novels, searching x rated stuff and deleting them all, spending money on nail paint till I ran outta money *sigh*. Each time I say to myself it's the last time but then life happens and I am back to them 😆

loved the theme, specially the tags. Great work CCs
